2. Defeat the Orc Chieftain in the Highland Pass. (1300+- health) Prize: Orc Chieftain(167/148)

3. Defeat Centaur Protectors in Clearbrook until you have collected 6 Meadow Flowers. (1900+- health per mob) Prize: Centaur Protector(242/273)

4. Attack and defeat 20 Rivals to prove your worth to Princess Ariana. Prize: nothing (She was kidnapped!)

5. Destroy 10 Rival Conttages in search for the missing Princess. Prize: nothing (didn't find princess)

6. Defeat Possessed Minotaurs in the Dark Forest until you have collected 4 Demonic Rituals. (3600+- health per mob) Prize: Possessed Minotaur(348/302)

7. Defeat 12 Hellhound Guards in The Unsanctified Marsh. (9000+- health per mob) Prize: Hellhound Guard(507/508)

8. Defeat Malphas the Merciless in The Unsanctified Marsh. (35000+- health) Prize: Traveling Minstrel(3460/2440)

a. Collect 10 Cupid's Arrows from Valentine Boxes to receive the Cupid's Bow.

No rest for us I was hoping one day off but the main prize in the box event is sweet a powerful weapon 85/130 and +100 Atk skill. The Orc raiders is by far the hardest monsters so far for a quest 1 it takes 5-6 hits to beat 1 of them it's going to be hard to collect boxes if the monsters in the LTQ or so tough to beat.

Can't say it looked as pretty as that for me. 2 hits, average of 100 each. Might take a while and a few levels to get past the 12 Orcs to complete 1/8.

*sigh* I just don't have enough energy and hero strength to be able to do this one, me thinks. To kill the first Orc Raider I went through nearly a whole bar. 3/4 done on the second one and await energy refill.

At least I could potentially get that cupid bow! That'd be great with the attack score addition....

The problem is likely related to having too many previous LTQ monsters on the map, particularly if you have an iPad 1.

Try selecting another map first and then seeing if you can get to the current LTQ map. Once there it is likely you will have to clear out a few of the older LTQ beasts to stabilize the game.

Gree really need to sort this out, either push out an update to remove them all in one go or at least reduce their health so that players can clear them out readily.

No it's not 100% drop if you use Free option or even Gold option.

If you use Gems, then it's a 100% open, just not 100% arrow. Comprendè?

Friggin hellhound is tough, or my stats suck, takes about 130 energy off every time it hits back

i can't kill the centaur protector. the creature doesn't show up at my screen, but the green arrow does (the arrow states the invisible IS centaur protector). i tried attacking it many times, done some damage (20k more or less), no result except burnt my energy. any idea why this thing happens?I have had that happen to me a couple times log out and back in a couple of times and he should appear never attack them if there invisble. If that doesn't work reinstall the game.

Gokstad prize was from a random-unit-earning-event. Congrats for not relating it to the Quest # style events. I'm glad that Gree switched it up and made it Gem worthy. Too many players complaining anyways about units they received that were better than anything they ever won/possessed before, let alone paid for.

Now they can sit back and revel in their units that they won't see again for some time. Moving aggressively? Because after what they just gave for free to players for months has finally ceased to the ungrateful players and forum members. I don't think there is any pity involved. If you want a prize you earn it. Or, you buy it. Don't expect free things in life forever unless you're a leech.

I was going to go for that route as well. I can't seem to get any boxes to drop from any other monsters on any maps though. I have gotten 100% box drop rate so far from the first quest monsters (albeit only killed two of 12 so far...), but otherwise nothing from anything else. Really bad luck for me so far on this one....

....and I want to comment on this as well. Been playing KA since April of last year. While I have not spent nearly as much on gems to get units or win events as many others have, I will say I play the game for my entertainment. So on that note, I do buy gems on occasion, and will put out more money when a sale comes through at times.

But I too am a bit sick of hearing of all the complaining from players who have a huge impulse to make digs on others who pay money (and in some cases, large amounts of money) on a game they obviously love playing and winning. Even more so, boast about how they are "free players" and how stupid it is to to pay for something in a game.

All I can say, most of those who complain just expect hand-outs in entertainment, and to the quality of hand-outs as they only determine. To those, I say go out and ride a bike somewhere for some free entertainment.

To the others, no one cares, really, about your complaints on how much something in the game costs; enjoy what you are getting for free, struggle through, win some, lose most others. Or pay up. I'd like to see you go to some movie theaters and watch some movies for free, without giving anything at all, without working there, and see how far it gets you.

Wow finally an event where I am really tempted to spend $ on gems. That bow looks really sweet. I'm gonna see how far I can get for free first before using gems at the end. What!? i just double check the Valentine Box pic & the bonus for the Cupid's Bow i thought the +100 Attack skill can be distribute as an attributes to your HS. But i think it will add up at your attack skills...Wow! Oh man i need it for my HS...

It is not a challenge. It is simply a matter of how much are you willing to spend.

This is most definitely an event created for The1! That's an insane amount of energy needed...can't see more than 2% of players being able to do that so that should say something...if your not in the 2%, don't bother, you won't make it.

Finally an event for The1 though... And a BIG Congrats on reaching 500k mate!
You were busting for something to challenge you, and here it is. Watch out though...this could be the event that never ends...lol! After [H]eroic mode, there could be [I]nsane mode! lvl 1 of the quest could take 100,000 energy to complete...and on and on it goes!

It doesn't harder it is just more expansive. No strategy, no planning - only payments. Oh. I really hope gree will find another way to improve the game.

Thanks mon ami..! I'm on 7th quest now with 11 out 12 hellhounds to go. I don't think my HS is strong enough to go all the way & if i do, its going to be a bunch of mountains of gems to burn for it. What is your Hero Strength F3rguson..??

The Orc needs 54 energy to hit, however the hit back is more than 40. For those patient enough, use a timer to hit the Orc every 18 minutes after the energy bar emptied out. That would reduce energy cost by 40%.

Doing this will no longer work if you'd like to finnish the event. You won't even make it half way. That's an old strategy that will no longer benefit players...unfortunately ways of play that benefit the players that get posted on here are used by GREE to make adjustments for following events. In other words they nerf it. Plus, they have adjusted the days of play and pushed the difficulty of the event to force all players to spend big.

If you've got the time, go for it, use that strategy...but know you won't make it far. Good luck!

About money spending I think Gree will do some events that favour big spenders, then others for average spenders but will continue some events where free players can get reasonable units. I suppose to try and keep everyone happy (Vaults of Asgard, just 2 weeks ago, was great for free players and you did not need to be very high level to get great units).

Of course if you are a free player (like me) you should not expect the top units otherwise why should the spenders spend?

As for me I will try to get the arrow with free gems and bits and bobs :)

As said many times in this forum (in one way or another): to each his/her own gameplay and enjoy

Going a little way is better than not going at all.

I'm not so sure. A free player would be lucky to get 3 units from this quest and the first one is almost useless. Then there's a lot of normal farming that you miss out on which adds up quite quickly if you know where to look.

If one was a free player then going for Cupid's Bow is understandable, the quest even in six days is a bit of a stretch? 25500 energy in 6 days isn't going to help through the hellhounds

Well said. It's essentially an arms race with the winner being the biggest spender. Each "big" prize winds up being trumped by the next one, so you'll never get ahead. And I'm with you on spending hundreds, or even ones on an ap game. It's a fun time-waster, not a life changing obsession.

Douglas, you might make a few heads explode with conditional probabilities. lol

My guess is that the probability of getting an additional arrow diminishes after each subsequent arrow is received. In other words, 1st arrow is 100% from box, 2nd 90%, while having 9 arrows gives you only 10% chance at an arrow from an open box. I made the percentages up, of course.

This is only a guess. But people did mention that they would get a bunch of arrows at the begging and then the rate would decline.

It is all luck, but it is hedged by gree. This box event was terrible for me, many opens of crap gold or honor. But around Christmas time I did a 10 box event in crime city and used only cash opens and got the 10 th after only about 30 opens. So it is truly possible, just not probable

Yes my first box event was easy. All ten with cash or a rusty knife. But harder since then. The odds do increase, however, as you get closer to the prize. Not even odds every box at every stage. I notice some folks spends a lot on resetting in the belief that they get a new shot at even odds, but I doubt it. My rate to 7 today is approx. 0.21 but another player said he opened 70 before hitting 10 for the Bow, which is lower @ 1 in 7. (not bad luck)

12 resets x 20 gems/energy = 240 gems x 11 hellhounds to go = will cost me 2,640 in gems. About 2 mountains of gems not counting the final boss. Wow!

The1nOnly has completed 8 and gone around again. I am in the midst of 8 but at 204 energy per hit and 196 energy gone on riposte you only get three hits per 1000 refill. Going to be a long day.i reckon 2 levels just to kill one enemy

Looking like Gree have effectively nerfed the game for iPad 1 users....Purely because they leave LTQ monsters wandering around after the event expires.

Used to be able to clear out most of them between the LTQ's but with the increase in their health+retaliation combined with ramping up the rate of events, they have built up and it has now reached tipping point.

Several maps in The PVE section are now bordering on unreachable, including one's for this LTQ.

Figured out that the tipping point to make the map inaccessible was....it started snowing :-)

Pretty clever of them to make the 10th box item so useful for the LTQ. In the past, I've been amazed by how much people were willing to spend to open #10 so early in the event, particularly since I've been getting to #10 via gold opens for the last several events (just takes a few days longer). Kinda torn on whether to use gems for the box event this time around...

The H level units on this round do not have an H on them, but a slightly different name and higher stats. Just finished 2/8 of the H level. Takes a lot more energy.

Since I am stuck killing Heroic Mode Dogs tonight, Just checked what the1nOnly wrote at 9am:

Also at 5 arrows with 5 to go. I'm willing to spend $20 for 240 gems to get 12 guarantees to open. Need a bit of luck on my side to get closer to 10 before spending real money. I can totally see this ending with me being at 8 or 9 out of 10 with no bow.

I just got #6 from my twelfth box. If the pattern repeats itself for box events, I get one more tonight, one more late tomorrow for #8 after a long string of Sorry!s. Then a stint where I alternate between gold of various amounts, honor of various amounts, and Sorry!s until there is only half a day left. Then I will get #9. If I get #10, it will be on my last or next to last available attempt.

Douglas you should wait for the next LTQ because the gems you would use on quest 7 and 8 heroic mode is enough to finsh like 4 LTQ's with similar prizes.


But I am 6/10 on the box all gold and on quest 7 havnt been able to kill one of those stupid hell hounds they have more health then past LTQ bosses, no way I'll be able to beat 12 of them.

It might take all night to kill these doggies again and You are probably right Cloud22....not really worth much.

Wow I thought I had a chance at the Cupid's bow because I thought every box open would give you an arrow. My luck on this box event has been horrible. I've only gotten 2 arrows...been just using free and gold opens but I've made at least 20 attempts just to get 2 arrows. Does anyone know what the percentage chance to open a box for free versus with gold? I was thinking if its a big difference then I would spend the gold for the open each time but if the difference is not great then it might make more sense just to save my gold for more units and just use free opens. What's everyone's opinion on this?

I can't give you exact numbers, but I can tell that when I switched from mixing free/gold opens to always using gold, I have always gotten at least 15 of the quest item in the ones you need 25 to get the top item prize. and I have never gotten less than 9 in the 10 item box events.

I have 14 Valentine boxes on hand & got tired waiting every hour to open it for only sorry results. I'm already on 9th arrows cause i've been doing resets last night when it came out & got stuck at 9. When i try to get the 10th last night, 3 of gems reset wasn't an arrow so i decided to chill out for awhile. So anyways, back on my 14 - i decided to do some resets from 14 to 8 boxes are all gold & honor until the 7th boxes the arrow pop out & i was like YES. Its like i shot the winning basket in the last seconds in basketball...Wow! 160 gold spent on the 10th not counting the 9 arrows...

It took me a whole day to kill of those centaurs and the boxes they dropped are allready gone (7 arrows). I killed some low level mobs, just for trying, but they didn't drop any boxes and I'm not thrilled on the idea of burning any more energy if this is a no go.

So do you think you will get the Cupid's bow without using gems? I've switched to only opening with gold now and I'm up to 5 arrows out of 6 opens. I'm afraid the last 5 arrows are gonna be hard as people are saying they've gotten 10 arrows from 30-70 box opens. I'm willing to spend a little money on gems to be sure I get it but only if I am sure I will get it. Would hate to spend money on gems and still end up not getting it.

Very sensible Ratma, the hounds are very expensive both in energy and potential levels. I went up 4 levels just to subdue the hounds.

Wow ratman! That is a VERY good outcome. I'll be a happy camper if I get there like that. Currently I'm at 7 of 10 arrows. After the 6th I opened 2 boxes for honor and one for gold. So in total I'm 10 boxes open for 7 arrows. Wel'll see how the rest of this goes.

There us nothing more disappointing than getting gold or honor out of the boxes. I wish they put units back in the boxes like the recent box event. Atleast you would be getting something good out of it. Oh wells we can't get everything we want.

Hey guys! I chose to hold and see what I get the following two days but I'm losing patience as its really taking forever to complete each quest without gems. My stats is not the best here but I thought I would be doing better. I hope to finish quest 3 today. On the other event I have 8 arrows so if I get 9 today I think I have a chance to get all with no gem. Then I will use what I can to finish quest 6, 7 and 8. It would be sweet to get the main prize.

Winstrol, if I may ask, did you notice that the H mode skips a few steps? No Centaurs for me at least.
