you don't always have to spend gold. I got the evidence roaster with no gold at all. i got lucky. This one i spent DAYYYYSS stuck on 8 last night i finally got mad and spent 120 gold and got to 9. i was saving that gold for goin 9 to 10!! i figure tho the 9 item plus the item you get for this weeks spend gold get more! event are worth the 120 gold ive spent. all these people say they've given up my buddy last night got to 10 with no gold at all. there is still a day left keep tryin.

I think if you only do cash opens you should shoot for getting the 9th item. Yes it is possible to get the 10th with cash opens only, but if you expect to get number 10 because you get to 9 fast then you are probably going to be disappointed.

Thanks for the heads up on that one, hell I spent about 150 getting to my 9th painting with the intention of dropping more to get 10 (until I purchased a stockpile of gold and didn't receive my gold, still waiting on gree to resolve the issue) but I'll save the gold for later as it seems the odds for getting this weapon aren't very good.

But from what I was told is that there is a limited amount of number "10s"... the odds of getting them are good in the first couple of days, so if you are going to spend gold, do it in the first couple of days... because after that the "fast ones" are gone and then the odds drop and drop and drop... so ie: the first person to get 10 got it easy... next guy not so easy... etc etc etc etc... I've spent like 1000 gold on the last day thinking of getting the 10... whoops... then got explained by someone with cred how it works...

If you want to spend gold on collect 10 events, spend them within the first 12 hours, you have a much better chance to open the 10th item.
Use gold resets, refill your energy and stamina, just open as many boxes as you can within the first 12 hours.
It's no guarantee, but way better chance.:o
If you spend gold in the last hour, it is next to impossible to open the 10th box, you better spend them on crates.

go for it! it took me some 20 tries to get my ninth, but only 2 tries to get number 10. you never know how luck will play out

It's your money, so I can't tell you how to spend it, but I opted for the recent limited items with my modest gold spending.

With 2400 gold you could have had 6 bone frag grenades and 60 gold left over (total attack/defense of 2490/1340), 16 Black Powder Powers (3792/3120) or some combo of the two. I like the car but just couldn't justify it - especially knowing that it's quite possible to spend 2400 gold and end up with nothing but carnival sledge hammers and 9/9 motorcycles.

Unless it was a one-time thing (that actually happened a few times), I think the game force closes if your syndicate leader buys any bonuses. Maybe that was only happening because syndicates were just released and everyone was donating/upgrading like crazy, I don't know. Each time my game crashed I would check my syndicate board and see that something else had just been upgraded.

I'm not saying the game would crash instantly upon a bonus being purchased. The game would still run but the next time I would do anything that requires a server call I'd get the boot. Maybe because the game doesn't match up with what the server thinks it should be doing?

Anyways, good luck to you guys. Hopefully someone can disprove the above hypothesis.

Good thing that I'm my syndicate leader and am staying in OT doing nothing else. :) Bluestacks is running strong in OT with 33 crates left to try. My phone is doing amazingly well. I have 15 gold left and 203 crates. I planned ahead and shut down auto-update for all my apps. If it IS getting close to crashing is it better to have an extra chance or a guaranteed open? I'm going with the gold open instead of the reset... i think...

It took 4 days of OT last time to get the Evidence Destroyer on BlueStacks. Hopefully I have better luck with my Android this time.

I just took OT to the limit, working on roll of film #10 for over 10 days - finally got it yesterday morning. The cost was pretty severe though, I missed out on the entire subsequent box event, had to squander over a week's worth of energy and stamina accumulation on a zero-camping account, plus lost all other use of my iPad for the entire time, so it wasn't strictly an extreme gain, I just wanted to get my first modifier after over a year of daily playing.

MXZ said it best: the existence of OT is not the result of any technological or informational limitation on the developer's part, and is therefore part of the intended game dynamics. Knowledge of how to maximize the opportunity afforded by OT is just an advantage that accrues to the informed player, similar to how the use of detailed spreadsheets allows me to spend more efficiently than someone who flies by the seat of his or her pants.

One thing i've noticed is that I've only had 2 blnt today, the vast majority have opened. 125k seems to be the most common for me at the moment.

After seeing that people spent over 2000 gold and still didn't get the 10th item, there was no way I was going to drop anymore on it, as I figured it was completely hopeless. After that, I starting using cash opens again, into OT, up until around 1am EST last night, and got an enhanced bike and a ton of BLNTs.

Woke up today for work, hit a cash open, and much to my surprise...

I got screwed on my OT. Went to donate money to the syndicate and got an error saying the game was down for maintenance for the next 30 mins. An hr later and still the same message; couldn't navigate away. Had to leave on my own. Still annoyed by that...
