Faction Recruitment Strategies

Ok so I've created a thread in the Faction Recruitment sub forum and have been posting on random player walls within the game.
It's all bit hit and miss, but mostly miss.

There must be a more effective way of recruiting.

Has anyone got any good strategies for recruiting players that they're willing to share?

Is that how you recruit? By engaging in this forum and use your signature as your advertisement? Does it yield many results?

It's marketing... does marketing work? Sometimes! Only one way to find out :)

I am sure you will get more interest but will they be the right players you are looking for... now that's a different question!

As you say even if you get some interest you've no idea if it's the right player.

We did do reasonably well in BFB. I think 75th was a good finish out of 10k, although it's not quite top 20 ;)

So just post your event ranking and bonuses on peoples walls and on your sig as well as the sub forum?

No-ones doing anything different then. That's good to know.

we placed 59th. we booted 8-10 of 38 the moment the event ended.

One of our regular guys was friendly with someone from another faction.

That faction had all sorts of internal issues, we ended up taking 6-8 of that factions most active players.

They knew people as well, so they left messages for them.

We picked up 4 more (after booting a few more inactives)...

We've grown through word of mouth, and ****ty leadership in other factions.

Hasnt had anything to do with bonuses... although once they've gotten in they've been surprised how well bonused we are.

While we'll never be a top 10 faction (not enough heavy gold players), we feel we'll move up from 59th in greenland.. hoping for 25.. but you never know.

So we've got:

Create a good message, including faction ranking and bonuses
Post the message on everyone's wall you come across
Add the message to your signature
Create a thread in the sub forum for faction recruitment and add the message there
Make sure your faction has a good name
and finally post stories like "the first film that made me cry was..." ;)

best way to recruit place really well in events. after each event you have people coming to you.

besides that i think brave heart's real life story thread was pretty awesome

That's pretty much it. It's all about selling it.
Of course, just because you attract lots of players doesn't mean you'll attract lots of good ones. We get lots of crappy applicants daily, as I'm sure lots of factions do. And some that seem like they will be a good member end up being crappy and the search continues.

Ours isn't all that "cool" ... but since its always near the top of the final results page, we have name recognition.

It's not easy you have to market.. Mergers are always great, we're even open to considering taking on a smaller faction

Of course, mergers are not a sure thing either. I must have arranged at least 3 potential mergers just to have them fall through. You do have to become selective and not just adding members for sake of having a slot filled. That said, the only other thing I can suggest is to add your forum thread link to your in-game invites. While that opens up potential for your target to sign up else where, it also gives them a private channel of communications with you....

Peppers just about every faction tried to recruit me away from my own Faction I run lol, but NOBODY offered me cookies & cocktails! Now that's a diff story! Seriously lol will never leave my faction, we rock! But we can eat cookies & drink over in the Milspec camp if u want to come over ;) we even have MRE's

You can recruit a mid level player, maybe lv. 50. And as long as he is an active player, he will eventually grow along with your faction.

So I've altered my sig and then read a particularly good bit of advice which was to get someone else to do it. That sounds like the best plan!

Find a 70 year old male veteran who took over his daughter's iphone and MW account. Make sure he has a cute name like mandy or sarah, and a female avatar. Then have her (him) go recruit her highest level allies. Lol, this seriously happened to my faction and I have requests coming in constantly.

When we have vacancies (which we do just now) I've always got good recruits through the recruitment section.

This battle is about over and you know whether or not you happy with current faction. We will have 4 spots open as soon as this battle is over.
