Hey pal! I haven't played KA for awhile since I don't have much time nowadays, but decided to drop by the forum. Its real quiet here...it is. Sometimes I write something and when I'm back is still at the top of page. It's hard to keep the same level of intensity on this game if things don't change that much. I guess that's one of reasons some players are leaving the game.

Freekizh,
I want to say thanks for your help early on in KA. Too bad your not playing any more.

No probs pal - I stopped because I thought Gree Inc misunderstood the model, and I just recently checked their share price, and could already guess from the quiet forum whats been going on since I've been away.

Peeps like the rules to remain predictable in some sense, while still interesting and the game not too time consuming. Also Gree Inc's policy against RMT makes it uncompetitive to a large number of competitors and stop people from "investing" in the game because of zero exit value.

+1

I recall seeing posts from you here shortly after I found the forum and they helped me quite a bit.

Holy crap Freekizh!,... I haven't heard from your in a very long time, I had to open the thread and actually make sure it was you! I posted to your wall a few times but never heard back from you so I figured Real Life was getting in the way and I got tired of scrolling to the very bottom of my allies to find you! I enjoyed the back and forth conversations we had on game play theory, hope you keep dropping by from time to time. I don't post very often on the forums anymore... too many trolls and negativity for my liking...

Sorry bro - don't play anymore so didn't see ur messages. Finally the hadcore come creeping out of the woodwork :)

I should've finished my theory work, especially on casualties, but its all forgotten now. Real stuff keeps me too busy.

You're probably better off not having wasted your time - the developers frequently mess with what's under the hood anyway, so hours and days of research would've likely been for naught.

Wow another "can't" person. Maybe in another time I would either argue to take money from you :)

Well things change all the time. There's a whole industry out there whose sole focus is to predict or model or understand something that is inherently volatile or fundamentally changing. When they understand, they take money from people who can't understand.

Change itself doesn't make any prior attempts to understanding redundant or unhelpful to others who wanna pickup the effort - otherwise no one would read prior bodies of work/research on the sole basis that things change and therefore that work is now useless. Mechanically its very hard to change something fundamentally - you can tweak parameters, but things don't change completely.

Good for you Freekizh. This whole Faction movement in all of Gree's games has renewed my interested in a couple of games, but can be very taxing time wise. Not sure how people can keep up this pace on the 3 Gree majors so we will see. More importantly faction play has introduced me to more players who aren't just great gamers but great people in general, so that has been a real positive.

Valid points. For the record, I never said "can't", so I did take some exception to being lumped in with some other group of people.

I just know that trying to reverse-engineer a black box that it adds quite a level of complexity if what's going on in the black box changes continually while you're attempting to compile enough data to determine the formula. I did look at it from the point of view that if you didn't nail it on the head, it wasn't worth doing, but you're right - even understanding the fundamentals of which variables come into play in what ways is important information to have, even if their coefficients fluctuate regularly.

Nicely said. And it is fun to discern the patterns and when they change.

Freekish - Just want to let you know that it is because of you, your messages and tactical guide I started playing Kingdom Age. I still haven't found any player having so high defense compared to his attack stats as you had. I was really sad when you left the game. But I understand that it is just a game. I am sure you have inspired lots of game players like me to understand and play Kingdom Age in a better way. Cheers :)

Really, Ms Pickles?

I believe this little gem was one of yours . . .

There is special test for children success in life called marshmellow test. Eat 1 marshmellow now or wait 10 minutes and get 2 marshmellows. If you eat the 1 marshmellow immediately then you fail and predicted to be failure in life due to poor self control and instant gratification. If however you wait the time for extra marshmellow then your outcome in life is superior to the failure. This is the same with KA. The campers wait and are superior over time to the instant gratification players who must waste their real money on this game - just like real life failure people who waste their money on casino and beers.

You simply must give me the name of your supplier.

There is big difference between my post, which is factual,...and crazy rant from your friend. I suspect you failed marshmellow test as a child...and much of your schooling. Is that real photo of you ?

As a child, someone gave me a marshmallow, I ate it. I believe I achieved top marks in the "Can-you-eat-a-marshmallow-that-is-given-to-you" test.

As to my photo, yes it is. It's not one of my best but it's been accepted on my passport so it's accepted globally.

And finally, one mans rant is another mans coherent point of view. And if Freekizh is comfortable in making that statement, rightly or wrongly, then that's fine by me.

If drinking beer was correlated to failure then nearly every man who started and/or currently runs a Fortune 500 company wouldn't have made it to where they are today.
Making such an insinuation is ridiculous. This is a huge digression from the point of this thread so I'll stop now.

I'm still enjoying the game as well

Hi Freekizh
I am still enjoying the game. Your harsh comments about IPH, and so on, done back when you were still playing, really helped me, in the sense I have still fun because I probably did the thing in a not-too-bad way!
So thanks
I hope you are doing well too.
