Grrr. It drives me nuts when an event starts before the previous one finishes and I just keep getting the splash screen for the OLD event, not the NEW one. So I think the ! on my quests is the old one until I check in every few hours to see if I've missed a few hours of something as I just did. Wish I'd thought to check what they can't be bothered to splash before using up the last of my energy but if they would just give us a dam head's up splash, that wouldn't happen. Grrrr.

Lol... I'm still waiting for 4 tickets I set to be replied to from two of these events ago when ever I leveled up on the last hit on a creature in the quests it reset that quest event i.e. Kill three Plague Spreaders... you kill number 2... level up... now you have 0/3 completed... this happened throughout the whole event and the Heroic bit at the end costing me hundreds of Gems and and lost time... I got to Heroic 22/40 in 2 hours from 0 and the timer ran out... never mind the 8 hours I lost at the higher levels with quest resets!

GRRRRRrrrreed! Their response... nothing yet... Now this quest I hit those mushroom guys doing apparently over 2000 damage a hit and they don't die... reset game 4 times and more and instead of 'visit' in the quest log I have "buy" so for another hour I can't trigger quest... buy does nothing you see... I went to the map... killed a dozen monsters hoing that would trigger more guys... nope...

Working again finally last few minutes and now onto quest 2/10... That is rough I have also faced some of the same promblems, like doing 2000 damage randomly and the monster not dying. Gree support is terrible when they don't know how to fix the promblem they either don't respond or give you some excuse (there working on it and there sorry for the inconvenice). Glad you got it working though good luck getting those drops.

2000 damage is fantastic but why would you want to dry the monster?Haha I swear my iphone word check always picks the wrong word. I wish I could do 2000 damage everytime i normally do 180-210. It's some glitch everytime I do 2000 damage nothing happens the monster has no health decrease but luckly it does not happen to often.

Gree really need to hire some better developers to reduce the memory usage of the game.

I'm on 5/10, drop rates have been pretty decent for me so far, as I've got the first 4 done with only about 1000 energy and haven't needed to kill more than 8 per quest part to get all requires drops.

That said, I hope this isn't a sign of things to come for future LTQs. Much prefer the 40 part quests where, even though I may not finish, the units/weapons/armor add up and the final prizes over part 30 are all quite decent. Hope they're not permanently planning on scaling back the LTQ prizes, though it's something I've apprehensively expected. We'll see how hard the last half of the quest is to complete for the grand prize unit (something tells me the drop rate will obviously get ridiculously low, and Winstrol has already indicated as much). Still, assuming the final portions drops aren't worse than 5-10% I'm hoping I can finish in time, since there are 4 days left.

You only up to 8 King, geez I am at 10.2 , needed a break plus a level up at the exact right time perfect for this event, new level new meat ....hello ...over vault ...Thankyou I take that 198K ..buy more Dragoons , had them monsters dropping like flies at a SWAT meet! Have work out drop rate every 4-5 hits , so use low level dudes to fill the gaps, so my drop rates 65-80 % , level 10 bit different more like 30-40 % using my homemade Smashing theory !
Just trying to get to finish cause for me it's worth the anguish of the other crappy stuff as Winstrol said earlier, that stuff doesn't help me but the end unit can!

6=6 drops
7=7 drops
8=8 drops
And so on and so forth and 10= 10 Drops, you get the joist of it, just watch your hero strength and drop rates , they can be brutal as per previous posts! Play the game don't let it play you!

The drop rate for constant hits is shocking , I worked my rhythm like dancer , had my moves shakin the units till they dropped, was going to finish tomorrow but persisted and spent last 20 gems , last 3 drop were perfectly timed , got them every final hit, just counted hit per drop, using lower units and worked well for me . So every 5 hits a drop.

Echus, I'm pretty sure it was you who made the suggestion that loot drop quests should consist of say, 15-20 monsters on the map with one of them containing the desired trinket. It's a much better model as its more player friendly. Seems GREE are showing their colours by not making these loot drop quests & events player friendly.

We as players need to send the message with our fingers and with our money to GREE stating...we won't participate in playing events that are designed to only really benefit and provide a profit to GREE, we want events that please us as players...paying customers. I'm willing to stand at that crossroad as I'm not interested in making GREE rich or profitable at my own pockets expense for nothing but crumbs. It's time they listen to their customers again. Funny how it seems after a successful event GREE churn out two events that aren't really fun or player focused rather profit focused...we'll I don't think it's fun killing dudes hour after hour hoping they drop their sack. Seriously, not great gameplay or entertaining. Boring really, but Echus, I'd find your model very entertaining. We'd all have a laugh at each other if it took the full 15-20 monster kills and would be very envious of the peeps that got it in the first kill hahaha!

My problem with that map is with my iPod, 3rd gen. I have been using the trick that you go to a map right next to the one you are trying to get in to first, then go to Highland Pass. I go to Eagles Peak then go over to Highland. Don't know why it works but it does for me 75% of the time.

Seems a little like gambling. The odds are against you. You will win a few small bets. Ultimately, the house wins. If that is your preference, then go for it.

But you will find they were constantly hitting the quest monster 1 after the other! I didn't , I hit it till 1 hit left went and killed lower units, as my drop rate was 1 in 5 so on 5th hit backto quest units, my hit rate is higher therefor drop rate better and less energy used for better result! Try it for yourself? Just a matter of counting, but quest 10 was higher rate at 1-7 per drop, it's probably not 100% but worked for me, and at thee doff the day what have you got to lose ?

I'm pretty sure that Ratma and Gabriel are both high level and stat so the difference between what it cost them indicates what everyone said before.
It's just the luck of the draw on this one, you either get it or you don't it's all chance

I don't know the precise stats of the two players that had such a large difference, but level & hero strength could make a big difference in energy requirements.

For one, each level of map mastery adds 5% (of the level 1 value) to each monster's gold and hit points.

Two, if you're attacking a monster with 301 HP and your max damage is 150, it's always going to take you at least 3 hits to kill it. If another person's minimum is 151, they will always two-hit it. Depending on the monster's counter attack the difference between 3-hitting and 2-hitting could be an additional 60% energy requirement. So small fluctuations in armor, weapons, hero strength, and map level can make huge differences in energy requirements.

Thirdly, Ratma did level twice - which, if you do it properly, will add a good amount more than a gem refill will.

And lastly, although it doesn't always add up to much, if you're good at timing hits properly, you can save yourself a bit of counter-attack by always attacking the moment you have enough energy. I don't think this played a big factor in the differences here, but it's one more variable.

All that said, there's also a fair amount of variation due to random numbers. Without a large data set, we won't know how truly variable the drop rate is. My own experience so far is 3 drops in 26 kills... so between 1 in 8 and 1 in 9 on the last mob.

The drop rates are just atrocious! I killed some 20 Hortzils (lvl9) and have only 3 Xothic Skulls (out of 9 needed) to show for the effort. The monsters throughout are pretty weak, but the level prizes are mainly useless, aside from the last one.

Would really prefer something like we were having with the Priest of Set - killing monsters of seriously increasing strength with correspondingly strong rewards per level. It is much better to go for a tough final monster you know how many hits you need to use to kill, or to pass, if you cant muster enough energy on time, than to do this ridiculous gambling with absolutely no control of the drop rates/results

Ratma, how did you figure out 'your drop rate' for the LTQ? Did you hit the lower monsters of this LTQ to figure it out or other random monsters?

Due to work committments i was able to read everyone having problems with the drop rates on this event, so as not to follow the same path and burn through energy unnessesary i treid a few alternatives while still fresh on the 1-4 rounds worked out my rate was 1 in 5 thus gave me a better rate than constant hitting the same units ? i understand it is random but with a 1 in 5 for me the rate is higher benefitting my style and level, as per Winstrols post the last 8 parts on took 2200K energy. possible yes. but any system or sequence is better than burning energy for nothing or wasting on non drop units, that why i choose low energy units for non drops.
Interested if anyone else has tried this ??

Thanks for the suggestion. It did not work for me. The drop rates had no noticeable consistency in either the quest or regular monster, or in any combination of the two.

yes thats the way i did it i just left the quest monster with 1 hit only left .
e.g..if it takes say 3 hits to kill a quest units hit it twice then kill 2 random low energy units then 5 hit goes back to quest units, so forth and so on.

Seems random to me too, but thanks for the further explanation. The key to your theory would be to work out my 'magic number' for drops but I can't figure out how - on the quest monsters? I would think it was a fixed % for a drop from each monster just like regular drops.

The main thing is that it worked for you doing it your way, so congrats.

Winstrol is right. This LTQ is much harder than I first thought. I am only at 4/10 and the drop rate for me is not good. The prizes suck too...I'm wondering if I should even continue as it might not even be worth the leveling up if I can't finish for the last prize...that seems to be the only one worth it.

The last 40 step LTQ was way better since those at least gave me good hero weapon/armor. Oh we'll I might just see how far I get for free but definitely not worth spending gems for.

At the risk of screwing things up for me, I will say the drop rate for me has been pretty good, except on the first part. I'm on 4/10 right now. I hope this small bit of luck continues for me. I also wish everyone else luck.
So of course, I spoke too soon. On 6/10 now. 5/10 drop rate sucked out loud. This one hasn't turned out very well yet, either. Although...


But you will find they were constantly hitting the quest monster 1 after the other! I didn't , I hit it till 1 hit left went and killed lower units, as my drop rate was 1 in 5 so on 5th hit backto quest units, my hit rate is higher therefor drop rate better and less energy used for better result! Try it for yourself? Just a matter of counting, but quest 10 was higher rate at 1-7 per drop, it's probably not 100% but worked for me, and at thee doff the day what have you got to lose ?

Ugh. I'm on 6/10 now, had 2 of the required 6 drops, and leveled up so got my full 1500+ energy. Drained the whole bar and only got 2 more drops (for a total of 4) and killed a good 20 or so for those 2 drops. Not looking good in terms of finishing, even with 3 more days.

Get the unit down to 1 hit go off kill something else on the map like yours then come back to it and finish it off. Also logging off with only 1 hit left then reloading the app sometimes works or if not seems to increase the drop rate.

Might not work for everyone but is working well for me. I always find just powering through all your energy killing one after another dosnt seem to work.

I think the key is to mix it up a bit do something else with one hit left.

The drop rate is tied to events on each map as far as I can see.

Go kill the same low energy monster until one of the others replaces it (ie like kill a bear until the Dire Bear appears).

Kill that and then have a crack at the event monster.

I think spinning round rapidly 3 times; then going outside (must be between 3-8dC) and spitting over your right shoulder (unless you are left-handed; in which case reverse the process) works 120% of the time!

I've been paying attention to the drops and definitely theres no consistency at least in my case, I can get an item 2 times in a row or nothing after 5 or 6 kills, it must be a % of ocurrency

Most HP values are calculated based off other values and may be off by 1 hp +/-. L1 to L5 represent the level of mastery you are currently at on any given map.

I didn't record precise drop rates, but I generally found them to be between 12 and 35%.

You can also use this to know which maps you may have to clear ahead of time if your device is prone to crashing with too many mobs on the screen at one time.

Absolutely the worst quest I have encountered. My drop rate for 9 was 5%... That is 200 hortzils for 9 boxes. I have moved from L127 to L130 and for what... Some armour. I am terrified what the drop rate will be for 10.
I think some "clever" coder decided to decrease the drop % while increasing the numbers required.

Given I hit for around 130~170 it would take me 10k of energy to do the last 4 maps if they had 100% drop rate. So a 15% drop rate makes that 66k of energy or 1320 gems.

Think ill pass on this one.

Yeah, if anyone is debating whether or not to go for this one, I would advise not going for it, unless you are prepared to spend 500 to 1000 gems. Thankfully I was able to finish with 500 gems compared to Acidist's 1000, but 500 gems for me is at around level 122 with 150 hero strength, a 73/87 weapon, and 44/115 armor from the Heroic LTQ a little bit ago. It definitely would have cost less gems if I could have 2 shot the final monster everytime, but I could only do that about 50% of the time. Maybe if you've got the top weapons and around 200 hero strength (or more) it'd be worth it. It is a nice unit though, just make sure you are committed because you don't want to waste any gems at all on prizes 1 through 9!

Thanks for the summary Quantum. I doubt theres many people who hit as hard as you so 500 gems would be at the lower end of would you would have to spend. Apart from Ratma of course. His HS must be around 400?

Haha, I know that many people don't have 400 let alone 300...ok, maybe over 300. But, let's put it this way. 200 levels tops from the start.

200 levels x 3 skill points per = 600 skill points from leveling up.

If and only if you dumped all points into HS, you'd have 300 HS. And, you'd possess your original stamina and essentially no Army attack or Army defense.

Let's say you master a few maps, at 1 skill point a piece you are looking at another 54 maps, 54 skill points divide that up, too. All to Hero Strength and you're at 27 more.

Grand total = 327? But again, Ratma ;) you ain't level 200. :p

Definitely the lamest LTQ so far. These random drop rates are for the birds. Tip for you Gree programmers and quest designers (since we know you're out to make money and encourage people to buy gems): try a bit of tact next time. People are complaining left and right in this thread and with good reason. They're not going to buy gems if it seems like a waste, and that's what it is with the atrociously low drop rates for parts 7-10 of this LTQ. I guarantee the 40 part LTQs are more profitable as people may not get the final unit, but will be more likely to spend gems to replenish energy since they're getting great units, weapons, and armor along the way either to replace their hero weapon/armor, or to pad their army A/D.

This ones a big thumbs down. Really hope this was just a test of the players' patience (and you can see the response in this thread) and not the route future LTQs are going to take.

Im starting to curse a lot, any of u on the same boat? F**k the drop rate on quest 9, if feels more like null drop rate to me than random, I've killed 21 mobs and have only 1 item, I leveled to 160 and got 1690 energy, I killed 8 mobs in a row and got sh*t, even though I have gems I will use some in the last moment if I'm close enough to get it


I feel your pain, went thur the 1st 8 quests fairly fast and only 20 gems due to impatience, but quest 9 has been at 2 drops for 2 days. No chance with a mountain of gems and that isn't going to happen. Guess I'll work on the other quest, at least I know what gems will do for me in that one.

I got it! First time ever completing an LTQ! I was starting to think I wouldn't finish it since I got my seventh drop Friday morning. I promptly proceeded to go on a drought as I didn't get my eighth drop until about 2:40aEST Sunday morning, almost two full days later. My eighth and ninth drops were back to back, and number ten came three dead Zeiroses (Zeirosii?) later. Finished with about 11 minutes to spare. I did use some gems, but I did not spend a dime. I spent the last hour crazily downloading apps at one gem a pop (a handful of them were worth two or three gems) and I ended up using six refills for 120 gems. So, I saved myself $10. Overall, I've probably saved myself ~$50 by downloading apps. Thank you, Tapjoy. This is why I call myself a free gem player.

Friday, I successfully completed the fundraising necessary to begin construction on my BD10 without getting attacked a single time. Today, I just completed my first LTQ for a sweet, sweet unit, and tomorrow around noon I will be purchasing a minimum of twenty-five dragons to kickstart my dragon army. This has been a good weekend in my Kingdom. I'd throw a party in my kingdom, but riff-raff like jonny0284 (http://www.funzio.com/forum/member.php?53688-jonny0284) would try to sneak in. haha

For the record, this unit replaced a Berserker in my army. I will trade a 16/11 destructible unit for a 3300/1700 indestructible unit every time. Just about got back all the attack/defense I have lost by losing units in the PvP LTQ.

I really thought I'd finish this one but alas I wasn't a 'chosen' one. The drop rates were awful. I got 5 from the last one. I did notice at least twice in this event that I got a drop but didn't get credit for it. 1 on an early one and I think the other was on 7. I can't imagine how many of that last one I killed. I probably killed at least 10-12 before my first drop. I made the mistake of not noticing I was going to level while killing one and after that it took 4 hits per where I 3 hit most of them before that.

I'll play free as long as I can. I don't have enough Stamina to be worth it for me to spend Gems. Soooo, as I know I can finish 40-type PvE LTQ's with my HS, I'll dump a few skill points into Stamina. Maybe get ~ 30+ and then I'll decide about these.

I think this kind of LTQ, you'll get it in the first 2 days cause you have more chance to win it with lesser gems than waiting for the last day to go for it. Its like the collect 10 some people are going for it in the first couple hrs or first day of the event & win it with less gems also...

And that why The1nONLY wins just about everything, he hooks in on the first day as i think the chances are greater than later on in the events...wait too long and zip like the Chimera and through that gold and gems away with it !

I think this is a GREE's strategy. If you wanna finish any event faster ( may be less than a day ), you can get that strongest unit coz you have to spend a lot of gems.

GREE's strategy is to create LTQs that you can almost finish as a free player and put gems on sale. This way free players are tempted to cross the line and buy some gems, something that costs them nothing to make.

Unless I'm getting good seats to a hockey game, I would not spend $100 on a night out.

I wouldn't spend $100 on a video game simply because there are other video games out there that I can play that are very enjoyable and don't cost $100. In fact, I don't spend more than $30 on a video game.

As much as I enjoy Kingdom Age, there is a myriad of other things I could spend $100 that I would enjoy way more than completing an LTQ or two.

Maybe down the road I might throw a few bucks here and there, but right now my main goal is to become debt free, so almost all my money that is not going towards a necessity, like electricity and gasoline, is going towards paying off my debts like student loans. This is why I also have never had a car payment and I don't have a credit card.
