If it is a normal in-game quest, why is it visiting different maps? Including maps I have mastered at level 5?

That screen looks like the missions are on the same map. If you complete a map to level 5 before progressing through the story goals, they don't just skip those goals and maps because you finished the map.

That was a series of quests released a few months back which involved tracking down and killing Typhon. The quests were all on earlier maps (the first 15 or so), but involved killing new enemies on those maps with better stats, and higher XP and gold reward. I can't remember the exact number, but if you're on the tenth one, you should be about 2/3 done if I recall correctly.

They released it a bit before they started doing all the LTQ's.
