Build two theaters. Upgrade one while the other is building. Then save for loft.

Exactly what TruthHurts said. Focus on the MT's first, because the Loft to lvl 2 will cost you more than 2 mil.

That is the exact path I took back when I was deciding between MT and Loft. It worked out well for me, put me on the path to my NCs.
