How much gold does it typically take to collect all 10 items in those events as the one running now?

It all depends on your luck. For some people it could take 15 gold, for others it could take 15 vaults of gold.

I haven't been playing this game long but I got the untraceable carbine using 60 gold and the militarized sleigh using 30 on my main account and now I just got the evidence roaster using 90 gold on my camper account.

It is very difficult to predict but it varies let us say from 500-1500 gold

When you reset you should be so smart that you also use gold for opening !
You can use gold only for opening if you have time enough .

^ that can definently be enough. ive gotten a few 10/10 items and i havnt spent a dime on this game. use cash option and get as much as you can. when it gets down to the last few hours use your gold to open box. you may get lucky
I plan to get this 10/10 prize. i have 5 already using cash option and i have some tapjoy gold to use 4 gold opens if it comes down to it during the last 4 hours

There is some evidence that drop rates change during the event, but I am not yet convinced of this.

You can't 'gaurentee' you will win, given probabilities involved, but in reality, the probsbility of getting the 10th item has been about 2% in past events. to have a 50% chance of getting from 9-10 you need to open 34 boxes, for 90% you need to open 112. Give or take.

Assuming resets and opens, this means 30 gold per open, or up to 3000 gold for a 90% chance.

I would just be sick if I'd use all my hardearned gold and not get the tenth item. The topprice for the event running now is not worth it, imo.

I won both the Untraceable Carbine and the Santa Sleigh. Used 15 total gold combined. The rest was all in-game cash.

If you ever plan to buy decent buildings like the loft, upscale club, nightclub, office building, or casino then the modifier is definitely worth the amount of time you would save in upgrading those buildings.

Saving up for them takes forever. 30% off upgrades would save you a lot of money and time.

I've never gotten the 10th item without gold, but sometimes I've gotten it with gold in the last hour. This time I used gold on the first day and used A LOT of it to get it. It really is luck, but does seem easier to get them earlier in the game rather than later whether you're spending gold or not. I got 8/10 really fast, but spent a fortune to get the last 2 even though it was the first day.

Cash opens wont help you . . I got 9 within 24 of event only by means of cash . . and since then i'm waiting for one last open . . its been 22-25 attempts i have done to break open the film & all i got was few donkey ass weapons and 500 RP's . . will wait for today if not will have to resort to gold . .

I can not verify that you have to use any gold as I already opened the christmas sleigh on two accounts and an item from the event before (I can't remember what it was) only with cash option.

Thus it's a statistical thing of being lucky or not.

For the impatient users gold is an option but not that amount of gold I read in the previous posts.

So be patient and you should get 8 - 9 film rolls for sure only with cash.

I almost always make it to 8 or 9 with cash. The sleigh cash all the way. Of course I wake up in the night a lot. My last 2 opens on this one were gold, as I really wanted it for my nc and such. Cost me30.

I got the untraceable carbine using only 75 gold for the last 2 rifle parts, didn't get the WM Sleigh since I was on vacation during that time (managed to get 8 presents though), and I'm currently trying to get the EB. Spent 160 gold already and still stuck for that one last roll of film...

The reason for the first day gold spending is the odds of getting an item slightly decrease as you get more items. If you do not close the event screen, then it does not re-sync and doesn't update the odds, except for the 10th item, which is set at 2%. So, if you acquire enough boxes,crates,etc, and then open the event and use resets/gold opens to open boxes it keeps your box #1 odds and you can get to 9 items with limited use of gold. Maybe open 15 boxes total, or 450 gold. That's $24 if purchased during gold sale to get to 9 items.

Now if you are level 100, you have 2% chance of getting the 10th item. So, over the next 4-5 days, if you attempt to open 18 cases a day for 5 days, that's 90 cases. There's a 50% chance they open, so you open 45 cases. That gives you a (1 - .98^45) 60% chance of getting the item.

So if you do this over 10 events, you should get 6 items and would have spent 4,500 gold (450 * 10) or 750 gold/item won. Pretty cheap for these items+modifiers. That's of course if you are a gold spender. If you are not a gold spender, then ignore this.
