Everyone always asks ...I mis spoke earlier it took me 390 gold to get to 9, then 22 opens or 660 gold to get the 10th. And yes as many have said get the 10th on the first day first few hours if possible! I spent spent 3k gold total on the second day of the last event. I was busy the first day so I had no choice. But with collect 10 if u use gold to reset always open with gold! The odds aren't great with cash for me at least so it's a waste to gold reset and cash open.

Completed in 34 minutes of receiving the splash page. Only had to open 34 boxes which cost me 1000 gold. All boxes opened with gold and timer resets for all boxes obviously.

The modifier saves me $250m on my next NC upgrade ;)

Just got new data at 4d 16h to go in the event (android).

This is going to drive my family crazy again having my alarm ringing every hour all weekend long. ;)

Nice extra that comes with the final prize, but I really would have preferred 30% faster construction rather than cheaper, it's just game-money after all. But they really should do something about these crazy constructions times of 48 hours and more. Or perhaps this has already been an extra in the past? Is there a list somewhere of all the extras that one has been able to win?

I have to disagree with MXZ because i think it does get harder with the more time that passes. If you definitely want the collect 10 prize then opening boxes is crucial during the first 24 hours of the event because the drop rate of camera rolls is so much more frequent.

You'll find you get up to 8 or 9 very quickly but number 10 can take ages to drop if it drops at all.

There was one event where i got to 9 in the first 12 hours and then spent the next 5 days opening boxes religously and 10 didn't come so i purchased a vault of gold and opened another 50 boxes with gold and timer resets and number 10 didn't drop so i purchased another vault of gold and repeated the process but number 10 still didn't drop. Purchased one last vault of gold and number 10 still didn't drop.

4500 gold bars and 150 boxes opened but no 10th item. What a rip off!!!

From that point onwards i didn't spend a single gold bar on the collect 10 events until today but i did it properly today.

Spend the gold at the start not at the end.

I'd been waiting for a modifer like this ever since that event that cost me 4500 gold bars which i think was the loaded dice event. Now it's completed my NC's will be at level 10 in no time. It's saved me $260m on my next NC upgrade.

I personally spent on an event about 9 months ago over 4000 gold on not using resets as time went on I never got to number 10 so I just spent 1530 gold over 3 hours and finally unlocked 10 so I do think that the drop rate decreases as more players unlock 10 over a period of time I urge to do it quick and not wait the event should not cost more the 100 dollars in my case I spent 120 total 20 50 and 50

Now that boxes drop from robbing/attacking even if players don't have them this isn't entirely true. You can rob 1xp buildings to get the boxes and not spend a ton of xp. On my crawler account I accumulated 11 boxes robbing about 30-40 1xp buildings.

It does guarantee it i think because i stocked up on 50 boxes and then just did timer reset > gold open until i got to 10 which happened in 34 boxes which seems really good. No other CC actions were taken during the reset/open process, in fact i didn't even leave the event screen between roll #1 and roll #2.

Guarantee is a strong word....I bought a vault and it took 15 reset/opens to get my first 9....spent the rest of the vault w/o #10. Going to try and grind out the 10th now.

As everyone does, I really want the modifier. I have 2 camera films using the cash option and 390 free gold accumulated. I'm wondering how far this would get me, and is it even worth it? Or, should I not even bother because I'd need substantially more like a vault? I'm thinking the latter. Any opinions are appreciated.

For us living in Europe we always get these events before going to sleep or early the next morning...this makes it difficult to complete these events quickly. Like the mob event where there were prizes for the time leaderboard. Perhaps this 10/10 event is not dependent of time...even though there are theories you should open as much as possible during the first 24 hours.

I got it - quite happy. Cash opens for the first two (without resets) and then a combination of resets and cash opens. Didn't take notice of my opening gold balance but think I used about 250. The 30% upgrade cost reduction means that first NC upgrade is a lot closer now :D

Got it! I got to 8 yesterday and opened 9 and 10 with only two non-film items in between. I used approximately 630 gold. I havent used gold in an event for a while but 30% is a lot when most of my upgrades are 30,000,000 +. I now have 30% cheaper upgrades with a 33% time reduction.

They should work together but not give you exactly 60% off. What may happen is that you will get 30% off of the original price and then 30% off of that new price. This means you are getting just under 60% off if the original price.

I just went nuts and went for the reset+gold open expensive (but efficient) strategy and spent exactly 1245 gold to get to #10. I had two rolls of films when I started my blitz. Strangely I had a hell of a time to go from #8 to #9 and started to be scared to ruin myself for nothing...then I had #9 and #10 back to back...weird...#10 always was a pain in the arse to get to before that.

So I'll start my level 6 NC upgrade sooner than planned

Getting to 8 is VERY easy. I think they do that to get people so excited they buy gold to finish it. You get that mentality of "I ONLY need 2 more." Then surprise! You get a ton of items instead of roll #9 and then its even harder to get to #10!

I did a 46 hour upgrade yesterday because I knew I needed two more days to save for my next nightclub upgrade but with 30% off I can afford it now!

Used about 350 gold

Did 2 gold opens with no resets

Then open and resets to get to 5 ( only one non film open )

Then open and resets to seven

( this used the most, had 5 non film opens in a row )

Had to get more gold, so to bed

This AM , gold opens only no resets, got the last 3

Contemplating for my ll camper, which I leveled to 10, to activate

I've often wonder if Gree adjusts formula after reading how we either figure out the code strategy (when we really do) and modify it to either change it up or make it harder. If one complains only (for some events) they leave as is. We are their best feedback loop on optimization!

1-x = (1-p)(1-q) => x = p + q - pq

So if there's two 30% discounts, they come to 51% discount, while two discounts of 25% and 10% come to 32.5%.

Edit: it's the same if you have three discounts p/q/r. It's just like with Venn Diagrams - you add the discounts, then subtract off the three double counts, then add back the triple count

Just a thought, usually I will do no more than 5 open/resets back to back unless say the 3rd time got me the item needed in which case I would then stop and wait for the hour to go by then try again (maximum of 5 attempts back to back) and I have received a few 10 item event prizes. After reading on this thread, this was the first time I went balls out trying for the 10th item. My question is do you think its better to wait until you have 20-30 boxes/crates or whatever it is and then open them all at once or do a few at a time? I think from now on I will try like I did on this one. I had 32 camera cases ready to open and only went through 13 before I got the 10th item. Was this luck or strategy? :D

As everyone does, I really want the modifier. I have 2 camera films using the cash option and 390 free gold accumulated. I'm wondering how far this would get me, and is it even worth it? Or, should I not even bother because I'd need substantially more like a vault? I'm thinking the latter. Any opinions are appreciated.

At this stage i estimate you will need more than a vault to get all 10 so i wouldn't waste your 390 free gold on this event. You'd be better off investing that gold in a boss event and getting the grand prize.

However the modifier is quite a game changer so you need to make a decision and make it quickly. I once ploughed 4500 gold into an event during the last couple of hours in an effort to get number 10 but it never came. So don't wait because that strategy doesn't work.

I'm wondering if there's only X amount of prizes available and once they've all been won then you could spend forever without no reward.

I think the likelihood of getting 10 on free money decreases the higher you are in lvl. Also with exception of the last 10 event most of those that spend gold find that doing so in first 24-36 hrs reap the most chance of success. As the event carries on the more infrequent you get a win whether gold or free spending.

That is correct and if you're a free player then it looks like a very dumb idea spending real life money in a virtual world. However in the virtual world this modifier is big in the game and for me was an absolute bargain at 1000 gold bars. There is no 'Right' way to do it, it all depends on your style of play, how much enjoyment you get and how much of a budget you have.

These collect 10 events are all about getting in there first, you could end up spending 5 times the amount of gold at the end of the event compared to if you went for it right at the beginning.

There's always plenty of ingame money to be had but when you become an advanced player and have the big money buildings the upgrades get extremely expensive and can take weeks to save up for. The fact that my next nightclub upgrade would have cost me $867m without the modifier but will now only cost me $607m is a massive in game bonus for me.

Also for those of you who don't know anything about syndicates then you're in for a shock. Some of the bonuses cost $3billion so that was another reason for me wanting this modifier. This game is evolving, some will get left behind whilst others excel.

Good luck with that. I'm sure if you don't have any or few of the collect 10 grand prizes then Gree let you get lucky for a couple of events to try and suck you in. After that you'll find it very hard to complete event after event without spending large amounts of gold. Your luck will run out eventually. Which collect 10 event prizes do you already have?

True although i don't think its got anything to do with your level. I agree that the more hours that pass means the item being collected becomes a lot harder to obtain because the drop rate is always decreasing.

I'm a nearly free player. I've got one game on my iphone at LV96 (spent ~$30, including Goodfella upgrade) and one on my ipod touch at LV81 (Spent $0). My observation is that it is easier at the beginning of the event and also for the lower level character. With the notable exception of this event, my first box seems to be successful more often than not. Doing only cash opens, I have 3 ROF (Rolls of Film) on my high level and 4 on my low level. I had thought about spending some gold if I got close enough to finish this one off, but it's unfathomable for me to contemplate spending ~$200US on this one element of the game. The +5 respect/robbery from the Urban Ops Combine seemed more valuable to me, which I was able to get on my low-level, but got stuck at 8/10 on my high level. I intended to spend gold to finish that one off, but there was a problem with my purchase and I didn't receive the gold until after the event was over. It seemed like the Rifle Parts were becoming less frequent on that event as they were accumulated (as others have noted here), so maybe I'll just forget about it? I had also had the suspicion that maybe there was a set number to be given out and the frequency dropped as they were collected by other players. Does that seem reasonable? There doesn't seem to be a set number of boxes (become more frequent as the event goes on). People who've already finished this event seemed to note that it still became more difficult for ROF #9 and 10, so it seems like the drop rate is just related to how many you've collected and not the total number that have been collected in the game.

My strategy was going to be: if I could get to 8 or 9 by Sunday night with cash opens, then start with gold opens (no clock resets). I will continue with cash opens but it seems like ~7 gold opens will not guarantee the 10% discount by that point? I'd hate to waste all my gold for items that are worse than what can be had through PvP or Boss Events (I only make it to boss 12-15 with game cash, but they still help!).

Just got ROF#5 for my ipod with a BLNT (better luck next time) on my iPhone. Maybe I'd be better off abandoning my higher level account and upgrading my lower level account to Goodfella! :)

The more I read these threads I think there may be something to the level thing. I have 2 accounts and have got the 10 th item in the last 4 events on both of my accounts, all cash or free opens and no gold spent, all either on the last day or 2nd to last day.

1 account is level 43 and camper account is 17 now but was lower obviously for the last 4 case events.

Every time I read these same posts and think number 10 is going to be so hard and amazingly the 10 th came as easy as the 1st 9.

But you guys do have me spooked because IMO this is the best modifier ever of the 4 I have seen. I'm at 6 cases opened so far on both accounts I will for sure report back my results by the end of the event, see if my luck holds out.

It's confirmed that this item works great with the Striker Minigun ! My Leve4 to 5 NC upgrade went from 311M$ -30%off from the Striker Minigun to 216M$ -30% off from Evidence Blaster to 152M$. That's exactly the 51% off total calculated by zwiswoo (quoted below) **headache warning;)**

Normally I only do cash opens. But I read this thread and they were saying 10/10 first day was the way to go... 400 gold spent... 700 gold spent... blah blah

I know cash opens and waiting will get you into the 8-10/10s, but for 300-700 gold and not having to open every hour for four days I was going to gladly pay that for this modifier. 2 days and 2,700 gold later... ;-( Oh well, now it's only gold opens and no resets.

I agree with most of what you say, but who are we to judge what vice people have. Plenty of people spend hundreds a month on alcohol and cigarettes and that is pretty much excepted as ok.

I've been playing this game for 15 months. Up until this event, I've only spent gold on the higher-end gold buildings. That comes to about 2,700 gold. Sounds like a lot, but for 15 months with of "enjoyment", cheaper then a lot of others forms of entertainment. (About 3 XBox or PS3 games to compare apples to apples).

Not the I have to justify, but the reason I shelled 1,500 gold out for this item (which I only have 9 film rolls so far) is because for a marginal spender, IPH is the only category you can compete in. If you want to compete in attack/defense you need to spend $1,000s over the year. To compete in IPH, this item is priceless, if I get it. I will have spent ~$250 over a year and set myself up to be very strong in IPH.

Got my 10th roll earlier today with no gold and approx 3 days left in the event. This is on my camper account level 40. I have been doing 2/3rds the opens on my main account, and have only 4 rolls at level 191. There is definitely something to the level thing...

i have gotten the 10th on my camper today as well and i have noticed after the 10th item ithink i opened 5 or 6 times after and it was always something no BLNTs as of yet.

There definitely seems to be a higher possibility of getting the 10th item at the lower levels.

With my level 200 account, it took approx. 900 gold to open the 10th – which I was happy to spend. My level 13 account just picked up the 10th item only using cash opens and at best, only opened around 50 camera cases.

that a fact, at lvl 77 on camper i don't spend any gold never and i got many items from this type of event. last is the car Xmas car, i don't lie... and for my Main lvl 121 i spend maybe 45 gold for the last proof.

Don't you guys notice a pattern here? For those of you who spends gold it seems the more you spend the more gold you need to pump into the event to reach 10. While those who mostly do cash opens don't seem to have any trouble reaching 8-9 and even 10.

This is the 2nd time I've ever spent gold on an event, first was to get my Striker Minigun. I strongly agree with the prior posts that these are by far the most time and cost saving bonuses, with the Loaded Dice upgrade speed increase being a close second. So if you're an econ person and can afford the gold, this is definitely the item to get.

Looking forward to that sweet, sweet 51% discount on my next NC upgrade...

It's a good argument, Intrance. For me, econ building is the only sustaining challenge left in this game. It's not about the IPH stat so much as it's about getting the most out of my hood. The extra income does help in PVP as it unlocks the high-end cash items in the store, the most important of which being the Sarin Grenades and Land Mines, the best explosives available in game.

I think Gree possibly changed the code since the early days of this style event when the 10 item was near impossible for free or maybe odds are better for lower levels. Please note I am very diligent about opening every hour likely 18 hours a day. Especially since this was the best item yet IMO.

The reason for the first day gold spending is the odds of getting an item slightly decrease as you get more items. If you do not close the event screen, then it does not re-sync and doesn't update the odds, except for the 10th item, which is set at 2%. So, if you acquire enough boxes,crates,etc, and then open the event and use resets/gold opens to open boxes it keeps your box #1 odds and you can get to 9 items with limited use of gold. Maybe open 15 boxes total, or 450 gold. That's $24 if purchased during gold sale to get to 9 items.

Now if you are level 100, you have 2% chance of getting the 10th item. So, over the next 4-5 days, if you attempt to open 18 cases a day for 5 days, that's 90 cases. There's a 50% chance they open, so you open 45 cases. That gives you a (1 - .98^45) 60% chance of getting the item.

So if you do this over 10 events, you should 6 items and would have spent 4,500 gold or 750 gold/item. Pretty cheap for these items+modifiers. That's of course if you are a gold spender. If you are not a gold spender, then ignore this.

good luck man...as you said earlier, reaching 8 or 9 is really easy if you open hourly. The REAL challenge (or luck) is to get the 10th roll of film...I reached pretty much all the time the 9th item with cash opens only in the last year but haven't get any luck getting from 9 to 10 without using gold and reset+gold in the dying moments...

get ready to have a sh*tload of BLNT, Enhanced Bikes and other crap openings like that in the next 24h ;-)

Just so you aware if you above L100, you have been extremely lucky. The odds of opening a case is 50% and the odds of the item in the case being the 10th item is 2%. So, for you to have a 50% chance of getting the 10th item, when you have 9, you need to attempt to open 70 cases. 70 * 50% open = 35 open cases = 1 - .98 ^ 35 = 50% chance of 10th item. If you open 24 cases a day, that's 3 days worth of cases.

So, you need to 1) get to 9 items with 3 days still left and 2) open a box every hour for the next 3 days and then you still only have a 50% chance of getting the 10th item.

I've never had problem getting the 10th item in any of those events. They always came as smoothly as the 7,8 or 9th did.

...and we've never seen any of your so called "easy to win items"...send us printscreen of a battle you fought with all your items and then we'll believe you. At least believe that you got those...how is another story...anyway...

All bonuses/modifiers are permanent.

Some people pay real money to get the bonuses, they can't just be taken away or expire. Well, I guess they could if it was stated somewhere, but it isn't, so they don't. :cool:

I got it!
I began only with cash, but yesterday (after 2 days opening without any film, stopped at 8) I buyed 480 gold and used all to obtain a lot of items, RP and only one film more (9).
Today opening cases only with cash option, I just got it.

I won, without gold, the warmachine sleigh and the Urban Ops Carbine, more easier than this last event.

This event has been terrible for me!

seems that same item for every player but different stats, depending of you level/tier

Different tier. Your "grand prize" isn't called "evidence blaster" either. Same bonus though, and by the time you meet anyone 85 levels above you, you will have had plenty of time to collect a whole bunch of strong items. If you want the more powerful grand prizes in the future,all you need to do is just level up.

I'm so lucky got it on my camper at work (brought my tablet to work), my main & my camper got it now, my camper started 2 days late in the event because I was enjoying a night out but caught up quick day 3. Was at 7/10 with 14hrs left so used gold opens, when I hit 9/10 used a reset then gold open 10/10. My advice would be use cash every hour (used no gold on main), when you got 24 hrs left use gold opens.

Oh I also kept camera cases low not getting over 5, my camper hardly got over 2

Looks like free players are getting #10 left and right. I've opened over 100 boxes after #9 gold/cash in the last 5 days and yet to see #10.
Does this mean they do have higher chance to get #10 then gold spenders? Or is it level related. Just please don't mention "luck" as it has almost nothing to do with it. Certainly some little bit of luck is surely present but nothing to explain somebody getting 9 and 10 back to back and me not getting it over 100 boxes.

Here we are over 3 days with at least 45-50 tries with cash and no film. Only BLNT or crappy stuff I never use in battle. We should be able to sell old gear we don't use in battle.

Well blew thru 900 gold, first time spent on any such event, and got the 10th early this morning. Had to reset 10 times in a row to do it. Also, still getting BLNT, after 10th which according to folks on this thread should not happen!

Love the idea of discounting on level up buildings!
