Whew! Almost done with 34(S). I've gotten really lucky with the drop steps and have only had to kill an enemy one time to get what I needed to drop and that was back in the beginning when I was one hit killing stuff. Looking forward to getting that Order Scepter, too! Here's hoping I can time it right and get all 40 without having to buy any gems!

Nope. I'm on the early stages of the heroic quests and a few have taken 2 or 3 to get the needed loot item.

True...but it's not what we really want. I think the idea of having 10-15 monsters with one of them that ultimately has the item is a better model for players, no matter which way you look at it it makes for better gameplay. You could still face the fact of having to defeat all 15 before receiving the item but at least you can visualise the end.
Unfortunately for me, quest 27 took me 22 kills to get the drop...totally killed me as I've lost a fair bit of time but I'm sitting on quest 34 now so hopefully I can do it in these last 2 days. Imagine being the poor bugger that had to kill over 20 enemies before recieving the desired loot item each time they faced this type of battle in a LTQE... Yes yes, we'd all laugh a little but it wld suck being that person.

Anyway, can't wait to do quest 40 and take a break from all this incessant clicking.

Normal or Heroic? Trust me. Each energy refill got me ~4-5 hits on #40. You can't possibly want to wait for something like that, can you? :p

Had to kill 6 royal guards on quest 38 normal for them to drop the quest reward, they have 350 health and each hit costs 126 energy -24 when u get hit

Has anyone else run into the bosses refilling their health? The plaguer definately refilled his energy twice on me. After the 2nd time I waited until I had enough energy to kill each of the 6 at once. I'm working on Lanibod right now and I just hope that he doesn't refill. I'm hoping that I can get to at least 36. We'll see though since everytime I get a quest that may drop what I need the number of bosses I've had to kill has gone up. I think started w/ 1-2 and has progressed to 8-10 I think on the last one. If it goes up again and there's another at 33 I could be in trouble, lol. Well, I might not be laughing if it actually happens though!

Just buy the chest of Gems. 650 : $49.99 What's your Hero Strength? You'll get 32.5 (32 and a remainder of 10 Gems) refills for that price.

There's 2 loot drops in the early 30's and at 38. Then the final two bosses are incredible.

Just got the Frost Golem, now after the next unit the Feeder. Seems a few people are quite a bit ahead of me. Im still making a spreadsheet with all images of the Units, the newer Epic Boss, Box Events, Limited Time Events are easy for me to get screen grabs of the latest units, does anybody know where I can get info of older units from loot drops please? Im really struggling to get the earlier box events such as:

Magic Ark
Star Box

Etc Etc, any help would be cool as Im spending too long trawling the forum for info in which I have got quite a bit. Also does anyone know what the first event was?

I've been stuck at quest 28 for over a day now (without getting to max energy) waiting for the drop. Sadly there are 2 more of those quests. Hoping to get to quest 36 without gem usage. Depending on how things go i might purchase some gems and go for the full clearance. But am currently a bit uncertain due to low drop-rates.

I just got to 40 and still haven't used gems. We'll see if I can finish this off without using any. It's been a nonstop click-fest. I was lucky to be at home Thursday and Friday, which helped tremendously.

Hahaha, its hard not too press that refill button. Sometimes I use to just keep pressing when attacking the enemy and suddenly BANG, the refil button appeared and was often unintensionally pressed. Oh crap! Especially when you lvl up after that kill which wld have refilled your stamina anyway... Now I avoid hitting units in the middle of the map, only on the side so I don't press that refil button hahaha.

Don't worry mate, your not the only one. I remember going down that road with the priest of set. I'm taking a more conservative approach with gems for a while. The recent family holiday left me with little play money unfortunately.

I was trying to push my def over 40K so I was busy, er, visiting my bankers every time my stamina refilled this weekend. Kinda a dragon run practice. ;) Going again tonight and tomorrow afternoon. Don't forget to vault your event earnings, friends!

One thing I adore about these LTQs is that it seems like there's the most ROI involved. I sat out most of it, came back, I've got a bit of an advantage so I can can collect some pets and toys and maybe if I didn't sleep could finish the regular run. but without investing a lot in some developer's kid's college education, no way can I make it through the Heroic run. And that's okay. If I didn't have a bunch of HS to blast through the first set of quests (hey, the centaur was COOL), I'd still get some neat toys. With the boss events, nine times out of ten I get units that are never going to see daylight at this point, though they are indestructible. :-/ I wish I could fuse them like in MQ. Lol!

Funny thing. I got to one of the early quests and it said the prize was a "Grunt." I'm not seeing splash screen pictures of these prizes. I groaned. I'm way over 500 allies now. Seriously, a grunt? Later today, I looked into my inventory to see what the prizes looked like so I could tell at a glance which rivals on my fight list were busy playing the current quest. <whistles innocently>

A Grunt is a huge, hideous but moderately potent (for me) inventory unit. *Facepalm* - but in a good way.

Just finished quest 38 had to kill the Minotaur 12 times before he dropped the item. Hopefully I can finsh with a enough time to do a couple of the heroic quests but I don't know the next guys look like there going to take alot of energy too kill.

Now I spent 20 gems on current LTQ and got the FOUL OOZE which givs me 333A/389D or AZRIEL for 40 Gems and I get 396A/424D so for me that a saving of 1540 Gems (Mountain of Gems) which gives me a better attack No# than the Phoenix , point is ? Is it worth the expenditure ? Derr ..Yeah! Doing the maths give me more than what I would outlay for a similar item! .. So if you get the time go as far as you can it's worth it and I don't have to
PAy $13,000 for a stoopid Dragon with100/63 ! Buy some gems and reap what you sow! The benefits outway the cost if toucan afford it of course...understand free player stats don't won't to buy but it's worth the thought.

Presence of Malik (H) is now mine and only cost me 160 Gems and 2 level ups plus all the other units and weapons/armour and I picked up an extra 25K A/D as well so all in all a good return for my investment .even increased my H/S hits by 60 so happy with that thanks to the armour/weapons , so tested my shiny new units and picked up a cool 280K from some nice people who let me look after it :-)

Finally got to quest 40 in normal, I have used like 240 gems to get to this point, Azriell has a lot of health, it requires 173 energy per hit and she hits back -41 energy, I might be able to get to the heroic part of the quest chain but only for the first drops which wont help at all at my stats anyway keep it up guys time is running out and ratma I don't know how many gems U would need to finish to 40 H Im guessing a lot

Which is precisely why this little Scotswoman went from being a ZERO gem spender, total free player, to occasional gem spender.

And also why I cannot imagine why they would make the LTQ go away, unless to mutate it into a regular form of the game. I played, briefly, another game where LTQ type missions were huge and there was also a social aspect. It was a BLAST but circumstances at the time did not allow me to keep up. Hmm.

I'm having a terrific time. If the time stays accurate to stated countdown I may get close, barring Random Real Life Events. Also, my bankers have been very kind. I'm learning a lot about my new neighborhood. I'm not catching many overvaults, and duh, it's because players are desperate for cash to start building or upgrading something. Not being in that situation yet, that had not occurred to me. (Time is my enemy - always waiting for build/upgrade/expansion completions).

So another subtle way to evaluate a base. Is there a brand spanking new BD or manors? Probably not overvault. Lenders but no BD? Oh yeah.

Also, don't let your dog pick a blind hit. Inevitably it will be the camper with 800 dragons. Though I've found those people are mostly very nice. :)

Back to topic at hand. I've been SO impressed with the art this time! Missed most of the last one but Gobstopper's furniture and vehicles and camp followers were mostly HD and newish art also, I think.

I honestly am coming back to this one to see what's next. So tired of fighting the dudes with the red robes and the lanterns, ya know? This was a real surprise!

I had to kill nearly 20+ the first go around on that #. I spent 100 Gems on a single loot drop task. Seriously. I was at wits end.

Don't regret spending Gems. But, if you're going for free and completing. Time is running out. :-/

Just got my Justice For All(H). My low hits are hitting for 170's up to the 190's. YES! Half of an energy refill took about 15-20% from Aquiat. I'll refill via time while I'm at school and hit it up for Gems later today.

I am not looking forward to Loot Drop on 38. Le sigh.

Spot on ratiatierna. People can get far without Gems. But, the degree of difficulty gets up there. The energy requirements go up. The enemy health goes up. (For Heroic mode compared to Normal.)

But congrats! Other than just finishing, have you set a goal where you'd like to end up?

I think reaching level 33 so far on normal mode without gems has been pretty productive for me.

Loot drop quest sounds fuuuuuuun. Real Life Random Events meant I've not cleaned house in over a week, so slaying Azeiella's buddies is alternating with that. No gems. No guts or glory on this one. Jonny is undoubtedly right unless the loot drop is bizarrely kind.

So completing the LTQ on a map you're at level 5 takes 20% more damage then it would at level 1.

From playing games on both my iPhone and iPod. For maps where I'd achieved the same level, HPs were equal. Where one was higher than the other, the mobs had more HPs, and by the expected amounts.

For example, Herr King (original) on a Level 5 map has 2,145 HPs. On a level 2 map, it has 1,877. Extrapolating downward, if you'd never completed Highland Pass (the map it's on), it would only have 1,787 HPs +/-1 HP.

Lvl 2: 1,877 (measured)
Lvl 3: 1,966 (estimated)
Lvl 4: 2,056 (estimated)

I had to kill nearly 20+ the first go around on that #. I spent 100 Gems on a single loot drop task. Seriously. I was at wits end.

Don't regret spending Gems. But, if you're going for free and completing. Time is running out. :-/

Well, I've now killed 19 of them, so hopefully I'll complete it soon.

I did spend gems on this event, now refilled energy 5 times (1 time on a previous quest section--31 if I remember correctly--and 4 times on this portion, 33).

I hate the random aspect. Shouldn't have bothered wasting gems on this part, but saved them for a later quest part where--while difficult and time consuming--the end is actually established instead of random.

I actually think the opposite. The faster you get by those random loot drop quests, then the more time you can have dedicated to regenerating health for real bosses. You could sit and regen health for however long, only to keep getting a "Sorry" but not with a boss that has real health.

Well I ended up at level 36. Did 10 refills, 6 of them free thanks gree. I have 110hs and the best weapon and armor. Going to stop here as its probably about $6 for the next level....

I must say that Gree did a much better job of extracting money from the players on this one.

U cant finish 40 normal without gems, I used 240 gems throught the quests and I started number 40 today, so im guessing that if people are right now on quest 30 something, they wont advance more than a step or two without gems, foe example Im on azriella final boss of the normal questline, Ive hit her 6 times and only 12 to 15% of her life has gone down, I have 194 hs, so do your math

106 HS. iPad hasn't left my side. I slept with it and my wife hated that I did. I haven't let any time waste, as soon as I have enough to hit, I strike. And I leveled up I think 3 times. Now level 99. Also got real lucky on loot drops, all within 3 kills except for 38. That took 8.

No way u can do it in one day without gems. Depending on your Hero Strength you're either gonna need a ton or a $hit ton of gems.

Go Q-Ball! I beat 40 just a little while ago for free, doing pretty much the same thing as you. It helped a lot that I was home recovering from surgery on Thursday and Friday, so I was on the iPad nonstop, flipping back and forth from KA to MW for both events. I also leveled up six times, too.

As a free player still in the low levels in KA, I've found the posts of the LTQ loot from this thread very helpful and want to thank all the gem spenders for providing it - they aren't obliged to do anything and it helps everyone else who reads it to progress in the game, make better decisions about energy refils, etc and accomplish their own game objectives.

The previous best warrior weapon in this LTQ is "#24: Fear Spear (39/32) - Weapon" so the Order Scepter (56/67) is quite an upgrade from that.

Im relatively new to KA but I believe it updates/equips automatically. The catch with the hero weapons and armor is that only weapons/armor of your character type (Rogue/Warrior/Mage) can be equipped by your hero. Weapons for the other character types are in your inventory and can be brought into battle but cannot be equipped by your hero which may explain why the picture isn't changing. Some of the veterans may be able to explain it further/better but this is my understanding. Ghosts' Beginner's Guide for KA (the stickied thread) has been extremely helpful as I've started out:

It automatically equips the highest weapon and armour you have for your class to your avatar. The rest goes to your army to utilise.

No 35: Defeat 3 Plague Spreaders. They each take 1.336 damage and each strike will cost you 79 energi units + 17 if they strike back - which they did 65% in my case.
No 36: Defeat 2 Kongs. Each take 2.116 damage and every strike cost you 86 + 18 strike back in 70%.
No 37: Defeat Aqueat, take 4.170 damage, 94 per strike + 21 in 65%.
No 38: Royal Guards untill drop, take 352 damage, 126 per strike + 24 back in 50% (3 for me...:)
No 39: Malik, take 5.079 damage, 126 per strike + 24 back in 80%.
No 40: Azriella, take 6.000 damage, 173 per strike + 41 back in 70%.

All this at level 125+ and level 5 on the maps.
Pls. let me know if your numbers are different. It's a bit interesting ref. one of the former message, if map level has an influence on how strong the beasts are...

The energy cost is the same for both attack and strike back. At least for 35 and 36. Haven't tracked total hp unfortunately.

Lady-Luck has not been with me. It seems the Caretaker (normal 33/40) is not truly taking care of what it should and won't give it up for me. I thought I might be able to attain the mage weapon.

No random drops in 35 and 36.

No 35: Defeat 3 Plague Spreaders. They each take 1.336 damage and each strike will cost you 79 energi units + 17 if they strike back - which they did 65% in my case.
No 36: Defeat 2 Kongs. Each take 2.116 damage and every strike cost you 86 + 18 strike back in 70%.
No 37: Defeat Aqueat, take 4.170 damage, 94 per strike + 21 in 65%.

Well, I just managed to finish quest 36 (regular) for the Warrior weapon. Spent about 120 gems on energy refills. May have been able to finish all 40 regular quests if I'd gone without sleep and spent another 200-300 gems on energy refills, but screw it. I was aiming for the Warrior weapon and managed to get it by the skin of my teeth, along with a number of useful indestructible units and various weapons and armor.

Love these types of LTQ.

I got my Glowing Pain(H) 73/87 so I'm happy :) Combined with Glittering Tunic(H) 44/115 got a nice amount of hero attack now!

Level 100 w/106 HS (not including weapon/armor boost). I got REAL lucky on the drops, all less than 3 and 38th quest took 8. I didn't sleep much nor did I do any work this week (despite an ISO audit next week). The iPad never left my thumb.

Holy hell, congrats man. Wish I could do a skill respec on my character, would even pay gems for it. I still got through 34 normal and have 2 new pieces of hero equipment though.

Thought I had finished off Azriellia - but even though there was no red left on her energy bar, she did not die. Had to wait it out and got just enough energy to finish her (and the quest) with about 2 minutes left (whew!)

500 gems gone and made it to 39 only .. 38 killed me i had to kill that minotaur like 23-25 times. i guess i have to level up more to make it farther . only level 61

If I had luck, I would not have got stuck spending almost a whole day trying to get #27 completed. After that setback I really did not think I would finish #40(S). Just glad it's over, hope future ones are back to being easier....

Interesting point... those of you who haven't mastered the maps very far will find this easier than those that have. The HPs for the monsters in the LTQ follow the same rules as do all monsters for all maps... HPs go up 5% (of the original amount) for each level above 1. So completing the LTQ on a map you're at level 5 takes 20% more damage then it would at level 1.

Good question KG, i was tapping Malik a thousand rounds per minute in last 16 mins of LTQ. I got a response from gree but a pretty basic stuff on how to finish the LTQ. Gree team response below...

Azriella’s Path is the first quest to offer 2 modes: A “normal” 40-part mode offered to all players levels 25+, as well as a “Heroic Mode”, which players may complete after completing the normal mode. The Heroic Mode challenges players to complete Azriella’s Path again with even more difficult conditions. Of course, the Heroic Mode offers even more epic rewards! If you prefer to keep with the “normal” mode (which is still plenty challenging), don’t worry, the reward for completing this mode is still pretty awesome.

An unintended consequence of this quest is that you can tell if someone is a major gem buyer or not without have to look through their units or browse through their kingdom for gem buildings like gold mines or winerys.
