New LTQ; collect Maddox armor

There is 8 pieces you have to collect and you get a unit for every piece you collect but a little low on stats.
I have been lucky and got the cultist to one hit yesterday so had a easy time collecting the armor already on quest 6. These are the units I got so far,

3-abyssal warrior 69/69(this unit is also one of the units you get for completing a map)
4-Ss'eth outcast 86/101(same unit as the one in the last LTQ)

Dear Gree/funzio devs,

I'm very exicting about all the unique units we can win in the events but i have this little question.. Why are there none "machine" units to win..?! All of the rewards are infantry / magic / (rare) beast or armor/weapon items but never machine type units.. Maybe it's an idea to make a like "LTQ time travelling engineer / mad enginering box event" you can make a fun scenario around it and i think most of the players would like
it. If there are any reasons for not able to win this kind of units i would like to hear them too, could imagine that uber machine units (random stats) 1000/900 + max machine power upgrade is a little bit of the sweet life haha

I'm pretty sure I've won machines in epic boss events. There have only been a few of these over a few weeks. It seems a bit, to me, like saying, at a brand new resort in June, "You have really awesome facilities but what about skiing?"

I'm sitting here watching my hubs start a long weekend, his third over the hols, of re-adjusting the requirements of a data server and front end to suit a client that keeps changing their minds. Their prerogative. I just remember that when we say "Those Gree people" we aren't talking about anyone omniscient, omnipotent, or even, most likely, with very deep pockets.

I'm hitting these cultists at around 125 damage per hit. After 4/8 100% drops. But this is the part where you go, "This'll be a breeze!" and start imagining how nice that prize unit will look on the mantle. After this the curses will rain on the rutting death-defying lamp-swinging cultists and the energy refills start looking tempting.

But it really does look like a fast one.

Looks like you have to be at least level 40. I'm lvl 37 and I don't have the jungle of torment open to me yet, hence I don't have the LTQ. Kinda sucks. Really enjoyed that last one. Maybe one will appear for lvls below 40.

Well that was a lot easier than the last one. And Luckily only had to do lvl 6 twice to get the gear. You guys made me nervous I would have to do lvl 8 a few times and that guy takes a while to beat! But only one has the desired item. Players kill the targets and if lucky get it quickly. Each kill removes that target permanently. That way there is at least an increasing chance of getting the item.

I am on 8/8 for the last 24 hours. Figure it will take a while since I was lucky enough to get #7 on the first try and that luck has to balance out somewhere. I am very glad there are 3 days remaining as it may take all 3 from the sounds of it.

I was pretty lucky, I had farmed a few of the items before hand(the drop rate seemed to be better before the event actually started) and because of that I skipped quests 1, 2, 5, and 6. All of the others dropped on the first attempt except number 4.

For some reason, if you are stuck at 8, it takes a long time to get the Tomb. I killed it I think 25+ times before I got it.

Its not so much that as reducing the "pure luck" element. If we just wanted that we would go pull "one arm bandits" LOL. See my earlier suggestion - that way there can still be an element of luck (if so desired) but its not just based on luck.

Edit - just to add another element to my earlier suggestion of having a reasonable number of targets (that disappear permanently if you kill them) and only one which has the desired item. It might be fun to add clues as to how to find the correct target amongst the crowd. For example, using the Maddox LTQ - for the helm - maybe all but one of the cultists on the map would have "round heads" but one of them has a more squarish head (because of the helm). I know, I know, sounds a bit like "Where's Wally", but could be fun :) And if you get it right first time, then there is an extra bonus! :D

I'm a free player and I wouldn't be using any gems to try and get the animated armour because if it's purely random, then you could be using gems like crazy and still get nothing (in some ways similar to using gems to open boxes in the auction box events and just getting gold or honour points).

Personally (and this is purely IMHO) what would encourage gem usage is when a player has a reasonable feel that for a certain number of gems, he/she is likely to be able to accomplish such and such a target. Then players make an educated decision on whether to buy and spend gems to get what they want, or to forego. Getting that balancing point right is what GREE will need to constantly adjust so as to entice players to "push" their limit just that little bit more and get the prize.

All of the above does NOT apply to players who use gems as a matter of course. That category of heavy gem player is in a different league, where gem usage is probably (I'm guessing since I'm not one of them ... sigh) driven by convenience and increased success rates, without significant concerns about cost. And yes, bless them all for funding the game for the rest of us :)

I never got it. Did about 17 kills on 8/8. No gems for me. That was really frustrating, though I did get the master blade dancer.
