Opinion on hiding building levels

So whats your guys's opinion on hiding the levels of your buildings? I have been doing it just because it seemed like a good idea initially but does it really matter? If someone sees your movie theatre up they are probably gonna attack it regardless, however, if its someone has much lower stats than you expending 20 stamina on the off chance of having a successful attack on a level 3 loft may seem enticing. What do you guys think?

Personally I want to start showing off my buildings :) but dont really need extra attention from attackers just because I want to show off.

well remember on HD version decorations don't show so a lot of the work to hide the numbers is ineffective. I see people who get creative hiding the buildings, but imo if its a money generator I will hit it anyway

Comparing the buildings with the iph is a reasonable guide as to whether anything is above level 1. It's been a while since I did much robbery anyway

It has made absolutely no change to my behaviour in robbing. At all.

The only placement of any buildings that has any effect on my play style, was someone who placed a laundromat behind a higher level loft so, if you didn't pay attention would lead you to try and rob it, and leave the guy a link.

I don't rob level 1 MTs. Too much XP for nothing much. If the level is hidden I will check out the IPH and/or the upgrade on other buildings and assess if those MTs could be level 1.

I use trees to hide building level, but I don't believe it works very well. I do it more for the decretive appeal to break things up but if it helps to hinder robberies so much the better. The best deterrent to robberies is to collect on time IMO.

As Ramshutu said it does not stop me from robbing a building, but I don't rob anything for the money, I rob for respect.

Double edge sword, I've robbed level two MTs because they have been hidden, if I had know they were level two I wouldn't have bothered. If I see a loft I will rob it, and I don't care of its level 1-10. I've robbed a level 1 loft and left a level 3 night club , much to the bemusement of the hood owner!

I can't believe it makes much difference if they have a good IPH then you know their buildings are upgraded. Or if you can't see it at first you know that's a NC behind those trees.

I would have thought the same thing around level 100 or so, but when you have 50 bullets and hit the high levels, a level one NC is one of the poorer buildings around. I pass on them quit a bit now since I can easily use all 50 and get a lot of better buildings than a level 1 NC....

I have never hidden my level #'s, don't see a reason to. Although my NCs happen to be behind my HMs it just worked out like that

I rob high value buildings, whether I can see the level or not. Hiding it just makes it worse as I try it once to see if it is worth my while. If I had known it wasn't Ahead of time, I would have left it be....

Thats the reason I hide all my building levels, just to irritate those who try to rob me. Makes em work harder for my money ;)

I don't bother to hide mine, but I do notice a common trick is for a player to hide the level of the lower level building. Say a level 4 building showing, and a hidden level of the same type, you hit the hidden building and find out it was only level 1. Wastes one hit.

Best hood I ever saw. The guy had made an exact replica of two rows in hood on the top row he upgrade and hid the levels on the lower row he had his buildings on show at level one, he said I was the first in ages to bother hitting the top row as everyone things they are same levels.

I don't think it makes a difference showing them or not. When I rob now I only go for the big stuff, basically NCs, hotels, casinos, palm hotels , I don't really care what level they are. I found it a challenge to display all the numbers in my hood, this gave 1hr of enjoyment, lol. It also makes it easier to see what levels I've got for upgrading. I've found that its a good idea to have a wide base, so I use the time it takes to upgrade everything in the hood up one level to save for NC upgrades. So you still earn a decent amount whilst the renos are underway.

a lot of cheaters hide their building level too .. i just came across a guy today who had ALL buildings level 10! he is just level 146 but IPH is 6.5 Million. his name is JPH or JHP or something like that. he doesn't have any gold weapons or gold buildings .. even the nightclubs burped 1.9 Mil when i attacked .. over all $9.5 million worth robbery lol

How do you know he's a cheater? Nothing you said proves that. How do you know all his buildings are 10s if you can't see them. Maybe he has just been playing a long time.

From what i've seen cheaters don't have to hide their cheating because Gree doesn't do anything about it.

Ok I've been hiding building for longer than I even remember.

Anyone you cared to take a look in my hood would agree.

Why did I start hiding my buildings?

I myself was a detrimental robber at the beginning warehouse clothes shop was my bread and butter, it didn't make no difference if it was a lvl 1 or higher if it was them building they were going to get shot inna di head.

The only problem was most people I hit had much greater income than my measly income & my empire time rarely got a decent link from these high earning players.

So in turn I started hiding my building even my level 5 laundros started getting hit (power of the green aka tree)
I got links, no more scanning the rival list as most player were too beaten up or there building were already rob/collected.
This was the time of plenty, even with my pupu income I make some delicious amount of green from robberies & the other glitch that I loved was when a goal got completed the game paid you the reward regardless you were log in or not.
This was some dirty tactic but how else I was meant to feed my mafia.
I buss pipe inna dem head, took away there cash leaving & whatever my 10 hits gave me.

Back to the trees, I made more income from hiding the trees than leaving them on display, ask anyone if they would hit a level 1 electric store but if it was hidden and the rival had a link regardless they will hit you, especially when you went away with around 40% of their daily income in 18-20 bullets.

That when upgrading or building money buildings wasn't my forte.
I loved being on top of the world, hit big & lose small.

Things turned for the worst when I hit 60+ I was seeing rival all the way up to 200 and getting hit by rival up to 200 also.

This way the new age, no more robbing as even getting a clothes shop was harder than seeing the easter bunny.
Strategy changed, it was now about getting enough cash to buy cars as the only decent drop was the M4's so I use to get pop up saying your mafia is weak buy more vehicles.

So in truth the reason for me to improve my income was because of the lack of cars I had.
The trees stayed, also with personal experience I noticed if I went in a hood that had a lot of high level building my memory clicked in that every time he shows up on the rival list take a trip to his hood.
So by hiding the buildings I saved myself a lot of unnecessary attention.

There is more but I'm tired typing I'll continue this another time.

I hide the levels for aesthetic reasons. I think they look ugly. I would love to be able to turn them off when I look at my hood. It can still be there for attackers, I just don't want to see them.

Well you can. Go to menu, more, settings, and level toggle

Yep, you can turn them off, but you won't see levels in rivals hoods either. So if you go hunting might want to turn them back on and off again

wow .. must take a genius to see 6.5 mil IPH and then wonder if those 20 buildings in his hood are really level 10 ..

and each of those buildings dropped good money on rob, you could easily do the math and know what level those buildings could be ..

I think it's an effective strategy to hide some of the smaller high value targets.
Usually people raid what they see first.
My level 10 gun shop and my high level T-shirt Stands are practically invisible because I put them behind large buildings as well as put other objects near them.
Those get rarely raided first, even though, they're the higher value targets.

It's also effective to hide some low level targets to balance your building hiding range. Once people suspect you hide things they get curious and hit some of the wrong buildings.
If you're lucky and they hit two low level targets first they'll suspect all of them are the same level and they'll leave.

Keeping your opponents guessing is always a good strategy. The less information you opponent sees the more likely is it for him to miss-click or raid the wrong buildings.

Buildings with the level hidden will get robbed more by me. I look at the I.P.H. of the person and with the buildings in their hood i can decide wich building gives the most money. If they have 1 good building and i can see the levels i will hit just that building. If the level is hidden, i will hit every building that could give me more money. Hiding = more hits by me.

I never hide my buildings. I think that hiding youw building levels is for pussies. I am working on my IPH at the moment, and I get rob attempts a lot. Luckily for me, my wall is entirely green.

IPH says it all buddy .. there is no need of guessing high level buildings, IPH says it all. In any case, I go after Warehouses and Meat Factories because they give more XP .. trying to level up faster for the love birds waiting for me up there. I'm coming no matter what .. ur snowballs are mine even if it means reds ;)
