View Full Version : have dragons... now what?

I dont have max dragons yet, but I'll get there eventually, and I'm not referring to the game in general, because I still enjoy playing it, I enjoy the boss events and the box events and PvE and PvP, and I'll continue to farm and PvE to get better items and continue to do the events (really liked this last event with the combo PvE and PvP aspect to it, and hope to see more of those)
so, I guess my question is, once you've gotten to a high number of dragons, there appears to be a sort of critical mass where your odds of losing a dragon in an invasion or raid goes up considerably, and thus makes PvP more dangerous/less profitable
do you slow down your PvP?
do you simply spend more time picking the best targets (manors, high level lenders, etc) that will return more gold than the loss of a dragon? or look for overvault players?
I could see once income is high enough that going heavy into PvP to fund a big bldg upgrade might be desirable, but I'm finding myself simply sort of coasting since it seems to be a pain in the ass to find a rival that has something worth raiding that I wouldnt lose a dragon in the process, and instead just using my IPH PvE income to fund new dragons...
anyone else experience this? comments?

You have dragons? (First, I hate you.) :P
So, your questions pose their own questions.
1. In PvP, you attack non-income buildings? Why? (If you do.)
2. Build your army. I wouldn't buy armor/weapons...farm it. Save that $ for units.
3. Boost your Dragons. Then upgrade the Water Temple.

1. no, I only attack income buildings (except for this most recent quest event)
2. I dont buy items (unless PvE quests require it)
3. I agree - once economy is acceptable, and a decent number of dragons achieved, next step would be to boost beast power, I suppose
I guess my question is, once players start losing dragons in raids, do they change their strategy or style or frequency of PvP? do you hit manors and equivalent bldgs only? do you stop PvP altogether if your economy can support whatever upgrades you want to do?
and once you have max+ dragons, what do you do with your gold? save it for expensive bldg upgrades only?

I have been throwing this same thought around for a couple of weeks now ?? what to do when ?
if you have BD10 and upgraded just about all and at full allies and level 200 then what ??? full dragons full amour and the rest ? apart from Manor lvl 10 ?what do you do with all the pawns that used to be kings of your army ?? preists/ Wyverns,Flamming cats ? just loose them for fun ? what next ?

Just outfitting your army with store bought w/a (or better from farming) would take a year. I agree that you'll have to be a lot more choosy with your targets when you are talking about losing 13k a pop. But at least they aren't valor purchased. Lol. Also, if you upgraded all of your buildings, you'd really have no reason to raid for income, the income would pale in comparison. I think someone did the math and found that a free player could obtain up to about a 60k IPH. At the point you are at, just keep buildin stats and optimizing losses, maybe keep a meat shield of basilisks (like 100) so that you don't lose dragons.
I mean, you are basically asking : I beat the game, now what. Which is extremely poor game design. They should be releasing content at a pace that is almost impossible for all but the most dedicated to complete. Since they aren't, you have this question.
The answer I have for you is to pester the ever living crap out of them to release Kingdom Age 3.0. Or whatever. Like tomorrow.

Would it be better to buy a slew (100) of units that have the best stats with a low, or medium mortality rate? Basilisks aren't exactly cheap (for most people) &, like Dragons (I'm assuming - I get dragons in 10 hours), don't they both have a very low mortality rate. So would it be better to buy 50 or so units with a medium mortality rate to ensure a better chance of loosing the lesser unit instead of a dragon? Wouldn't you have a 50/50 chance losing a Basilisk or Dragon?

actually, the answer is no. I think there's a table that someone posted once that shows there is a sliding scale within the "tiers" of losses. i.e. one unit's low losses is not the same as anothers. "very low" might be in the range of 1-7% or something like that, and a hydra may be a 5% while a dragon is a 2%, for example (the percentages arent correct, I'm just picking numbers to show a difference)

I don't worry about this yet because I am camping until I finish my goals. But there is a spreadsheet that has the actual percentages of losses. The main problem with using something lower than basilisks is that it lowers your stats too much. Good luck.

Build a high IPH and only buy dragons (in bulk). At least that is what I plan to start doing in a few hours when my BD10 finishes upgrading!

Thanks, that makes sense & helps clear things up. Thanks to the others who posted as well!

Well, interesting question. I have almost full dragon army now. My BK is level 10 and my WTH is level 9. I think I might have same problem as many here where the game became a bit slow or in other words, boring. There are a lot going on on other games and nothing here. I hope we will have something new where we can have new targets.
Personally, I've been attacking anyone who has something to give me. I lose dragons but I don't care as I can always buy another one.

I think a faction event like in mw would be a nice addition to kai thought about that too. It would be great but I don't think we have as many players as MW so developers don't care much about us.

Maybe a pvp tournament? The events they had that were both pvp and pve seemed to go Over well

I agree, and would love to have this factor in KA. It could be called Kingdom Alliances, where Kingdoms come from all over to forge alliances with numerous other kingdoms. Then they go to war against other Kingdom Alliances in a gladiator style tournament. That wld add a nice PvP touch to it.
KA will need something like this very shortly as once you reach a mass Dragon army, there not much left to do other than be attacked by other dragon armies. How pointless. I really cant see myself wanting to go for lvl200 knowing my defence will always be penetrable. Kinda sucks thinking about it.

Light gem, camper. I would share stats but I am employing a very low ally 1000+ density strategy in order to remain invisible and complete all of my major overvault upgrades while I can before joining the big boys and it will no longer be possible to be millions over vault for weeks (without requisite arm and leg to Gree and subsequent divorce). I restarted KA a few months ago because I made too many mistakes with my previous account.
I only care about MW for two reasons. It gives me something to do while camping in KA. And it shows me what the history of the Gree games are, ie valor units blow goats. If you don't look at their previous failures and successes, you won't understand their decisions today.

once I'm full dragons I might start attacking again, but right now, it just doesnt seem worth my time and not worth the risk of losing dragons. I have to search too much to find something worth hitting that will net me positive if I lose a dragon, and sitting there combing through the rivals list gets annoying.
so right now, I'm basically just sitting back and collecting my bldg gold and buying dragons, doing PvE on higher maps to (finally) complete those quests and get the best hero weapon/armor I can, and farming for better items where convenient (sometimes I'll slum it and jump back down to a lower map where I can one-hit kill things and get a minor improvement on my weapons/armor), and using that gold to buy dragons
and leveing up so that I have better stats for the (hopefully) upcoming additional limited time combo PvP/PvE quests or another limited time PvP quest
btw, does anyone know if the boost bldgs boost stats from indestructible units?
it would seem to me that with full dragons getting BK to lvl 10 is a no-brainer, but are the other ones worth it if 90+% of your army is dragons?
also, is WTH worth it, either? if you have over max dragons, and continue to build or replace them, do you really care if they're lost?
what else to use the gold on? go overvault for big upgrades? but all that does is give you more gold that you dont know what to do wtih other than more big bldg upgrades... plus you run the risk of getting hit by whales
right now, I'm basically forgoing PvP until I'm at max dragons, as I either lose more than I gain (by losing a dragon or two), or it wastes too much of my time trying to find a worthwhile target. in the meantime, while I build to max dragons, I'm doing low-cost bldg upgrades to continue to grow my IPH/economy, and PvE to farm for better items.
I suppose after that I'll try to get BK to 10 and continue to work on farming for items. I guess.

WTH is quite necessary if you have a lot of dragons. Useful in LTQ's.
Boost buildings boost all units in their relevant categories including indestructibles.
Gold is also useful for buying equipment besides dragons and many other things.

Honestly, once you have max dragons, your choice of what to do is very limited. Farm good w/a, upgrade your economy to where you want it to be, finish bk and wth. Then you have to stretch to find new things. Complete quests, finish maps to level 5. Finally, you pray for an expansion.
