At least its a collect 10 event and not an auction event... Maybe they will boost the stats hopefully because the current stats are garbage... Not sure if it's worth coming out of camping for 20% more from raids, especially if the boost won't even work. If I can find some high level manors then maybe it would be worth it... But that's about it.

For those who don't play MW, the McDoc method involves using energy refils on missions (beating monsters on the maps) to find boxes and using gem opens and gem timer resets as soon as you get the event. It is the easiest way to get the 10th item, but DOES NOT GAURANTEE you will get it.

The nr. 7 item should at least have 100A/D stats, number 9 should have >150A/D stats, and the top item should have >400A/D stats to make it worthwhile.

For 3-9: you can buy better units for 2000 gold!

Drop rate is dependent on energy required for monster. So for low level maps, that's probably about right.

Plus gems for energy refils. My guess is around 700 tops. Not too bad

yeah but the stats are pretty rubbish , so I will just stick with gold option .

I got a unit with 50% more from raids plus the 20% but Im not asking it to be 70%.

OK so my 50% from raids on a L2 Lender first attack gives me $900 gold.

With the 20% apply on a L2 Lender it now gives me $1020 gold.

So unit works.

Because I was so worried about wasting Energy during the Time Quest; I resorted to PvP at the start of a new Quest mission to see if I could get them from other players. But, yeah...it was no easy chore to come up with a few. However, a lot of the bosses started dropping them and now I'm sitting with 20 of 'em waiting to be opened. :)

The boss units have always been this way, as a sort of compensation for how much harder it was to get them at higher levels.

Though, by that logic, this LTQ should have better units at the lowest levels... Grrrrr. Still mad about unlisted level requirements to finish.

Don't feel bad. Most everyone has been bitten this way at one time or another. Mine was the auction event where I got to learn what 'diminishing chance to get item' really means when applied to $$.

Allow me to elucidate what I mean with regards to collect 10 type events.

I've heard it stated here that the last box has a 2% chance (0.02) of opening into an item. I'm going to assume this is true for this example.

So, with a 2% chance, you have a 98% chance of not getting the item.
Warning : math ahead. You've been warned.

Probability of not getting item after x number of attempts P = 50% (for example)
x = unknown number of attempts that we are trying to solve for.

(1-.02)^x = 0.50
ln (.98)^x = ln(0.50)
x * ln(0.98) = ln(0.50)
x = ln(0.5) / ln(0.98)
x ~= 34.30

Now, lets assume that one of them spent some money and bought some gems. He still has the same chances to open. Lets say he's parked on 35 boxes. It would take him 1400 gems to open them all, back to back. That's almost a vault of gems. AND HE STILL HAS THE SAME 50% SHOT AT THE ITEM!

Note how I always spoke in probabilities. You might get lucky, or you might not. YMMV.

It seems like the logical assumption is that he's going to earn a lesser stat item for the fact that he's a lower level player. So...if he levels up, his unit (Knight) will stay lower than the (Champion)? Or...I'm way off.

I know the boss event bracket system. I was one of the contributors of the bosses health data sheet.

Your units will never change by your leveling. They'll stay in your inventory. No name change, no stats change.

Didn't even use gems for it; just middle options all the way while doing the other event. Now I still have 14 boxes left and I don't know what to do with them.

I hear ya. It still all depends on luck then, just like the usual. It sucks, I know. Just now I thought they kinda nerf the chance so that more ppl will win since the prizes arent so great anyway. Guess they arent that generous.

The collect 10 event is different from the auction style event. In here, we dont compete with the others to get the top positions. All we need is to get 10 items and we get the grand prize with the bonus. Usually, however, getting the 10th in this kind of event is much much harder than getting 10 in the auction event. Some say the chance is less than 2% of your successful opens.

I won that red Hydra, it's overrated TBH. There's no way you can tell the difference with cas rate. The ones with reduced upgrade time bonus would've been a real game changer IMHO. What's odd is that I was at level 20s bracket when I won the Hydra but still it has way better stats than the Templar that I just won in the level 60s bracket. It's just not right

Inferno Hydra. That was back in May I think. There was one prize that allowed two building upgrades at once. It was the only bonus like that KA has had. Btw, I just got my 9th for this event.

Mine was called the Molten Hydra. I think I wasnt even level 21 when that happened. Some ppl in the higher levels got Inferno Hydra. Just check your inventory whether you got the intermediate prizes, something like Whip Master (Inf), Undead Noble (Mag), Heavenly Steward and Abyss Warrior (Inf). Those were the ones from my bracket but the names should be more or less the same. If you have those, then you probably won the Hydra back then. If you don't, well you're a helluva lucky guy to get a glitch :D I'd keep it to myself so the devs won't find out their mistake.

I don't think you can get a collect 10 end prize by glitch. The hydra I have is called scarred hydra. I just don't know if that came from a collect 10 or some other event, like a 20 or 30 wins prize from a boss.

I almost never do any attacking or raiding, so the bonus from this one is pretty useless. I just wanted an indestructible with 200+/100+ stats.

If anyone is curious, every single event box i acquired came from the harpies on the highland pass map, and I never had more than 7 on hand. Often I had none as they wouldn't drop at all sometimes.

Greybeard - Not sure what level you are, etc. But if you head back to say Dwarven Mine and start clearing house of the Larvae, Beetles, etc. you should be able to snag a few boxes.

Well, I will just say that IMHO this 10 box event is a lot nicer than the auction style box events. Also, if players are having only moderate difficulty with getting to 10 gauntlets on gold opens (I got 7 pretty fast, then got stuck for a whole day before managing to get to 9, where I am now), then let's be thankful.

I really don't see any need to "poke" at GREE about this if they have been nice enough to allow an event which is do-able without massive reliance on gems. If they do something wrong, we blame them. If they do something nice, we make fun of them?? Doesn't seem the right approach ...

Finally, we really should acknowledge that for all the bugs, etc, GREE has been trying to roll out new events.

Getting to 10 for free is about as common as winning a top 250 for free. Apparently doable, but not a common occurrence.

So, I've kept opening them these last few days and low and behold I've finally found some use for the added exp, gold and honor hahahaha. Wish you could give your boxes away though...seems a waste. But, I need to level up to 62, so I ain't complaining.

I have just gotten the 10th Power Gauntlet and got the Templar Guardian, who is a big boost to my army. This is only my fourth event since I started playing, including this one I have competed in two box open the box events, one epic enemy event, and the other evades me at the moment. I want to thank GREE because these type of event and the units that I get from them help my army big time. Now what should I do with the remaining 15 boxes that I have?

just got my 10th thingy....which brings me to the reason i came here....once i got the last one the time limit event just disapeared and i just completed lvl 13 and 14 wont show up....is this normal? is it suppose to be one or the other like this?? cause im so close to lvl 15 and it would suck if after all the time spent getting to the end of the even to try winning it just up and goes away and i get nothin cause i know i wont get a rep to reply before the even ends meaning i wasted alot of time....lets hope it randomly pops up in my quest log while i still have a chance to get somethin :/

I got mine so quick even with a lot of rusty knives, but I used no gems. It's nice to open boxes for the fun of it w/o stressing over getting event items.

O.k ...well done to all who got the 2 DIFFERENT TYPES i notice that there is a major difference between the KNIGHT and CHAMPION must be a level thingy... anyways i kept opening my left over boxes and yeilded some major MONEY and HERO Coin , definetly worth opening the remaining boxes i used gold 2250 and returned 15,000 my HERO return was 1,000and 750 points so upped the ante on some CANNONS not a bad investment for me ?!
I hope other are doing the same it could yeild some bonus Monies/Hero points

Yeah, after 10, definitely keep opening boxes until the end of the event.

It is a level thing... Not exactly sure where the split is, might be 50... If it is: under 50 gets the Knight, over gets the Champion. Same w/ Boss Events, lower levels get lower stat units.

Of course it is no success guaranteed, but if you want the 10th with minumum opens it gives you the best chance using timer resets.

I was quite stunned this morning when I opened my 10th gauntlet. I was sitting in a bagel shop enjoying my garlic bagel with cream cheese and almost said outlet to nobody in particular, "Look - I won! I never win anything (in box events)!" I stared and stared at the screen almost not believing it. I didn't stay up 24 hours straight for days, I didn't use gems. I just ended up with a whole bunch of bejeweled boxes from doing the timed quest and opened them using the "middle" option.

So of course, I had to go try it out immediately to see if the 20% boost really worked. And of course, I can't find anything worth raiding for 15 minutes straight. Lots of uncollected castles finally, but nothing worth risking any dragons over. And then finally, one lone little level 1 manor shows up with the red line of happiness over it, and lo and behold, 2,700 gold on my first hit. *happy dance*

It seems Gree was in a holiday mood with these two events - both top prizes were actually obtainable by free players, given enough time and not completely unreasonable effort. AND I had a lot of fun with the timed quest - for once, I'm singing some praises for this game and company.

Between this boxed event and the timed quest I have acquired a new #1 unit, and three of my top six spots are all held by newcomers. Of course, I'm talking about attackwise, not defensively.

5 straight 20 gem uses to get last 3 for main reward and 5 straight BS results. 100% should mean 100% for the item you need not some lame ass honor points or gold.

Noone forced you to use Gems. 100% open means 100% open.

I can get 200 Gems easy from Tapjoy thus I pay nothing for 10 boxes. Too easy actually, is that also unfair? But, as long as we both can get 10 boxes, who cares? Right? I mean we both spent Gems and got the prize.

I currently have 80 seemingly useless boxes. I got them from questing, raiding, and attacking. None from lower level maps. I don't usually try these events because my "luck" at succeeding at them has not been very good. This one didn't seem too difficult to achieve but my bad luck seems to be here again.

Funny...I got all Powergloves with Gold options. If you read back, so did a lot of players. Definitely not uneven.

My 20 something level guy has been 9/10 for a day and a half now with constant hourly gold tries. "Sorry" is the most prevelent message I get with the occasional gold/honor slipped in there for a little joy. Seems like Gree might be a little prejudice toward the low level non-gem using camper. Bet they have a special little tweak in their algorithm that makes it more difficult to get the Glove with each box that opens. What you think? 8)

I've actually pondered this for some time. As a heavily "free" player in every prior Box Event I can tell you that from the get go it's easy to snag that first (5) or second (10) unit. It's frustrating to start seeing the Gem spenders come in. Why? Like you mentioned, there has to be something that limits opens. If I get within 3 opens of the board; it slows down my "congratulations" screen until the Gem spenders have moved up the tier. Then I get rewarded again. It's a sly move but hey, I understand the message.

Who would want a player that has full vault and 50+ boxes from great enemies to just sit every hour and open those boxes with a great shot at achieving what players who spend $100's get? It's not business smart.

That's very unfortunate. I am a non-gem player and I won the #10 unit easily 3 days ago, only using the gold open option. Now I'm using the rusty knife to see what else I can win at no cost to me. This event was a great opportunity for everyone.

This is most assuredly the case, ALTHOUGH it used to be much, much worse. The odds of getting box #10 were somewhere around 1%, so you could open boxes 24/7 for 3 days and not at all be guaranteed of getting the last box. In this event, it did seem to get slightly harder as the boxes went up, but it was definitely way way easier than this event has even been in the past.

I got stuck on 7 for 3 days. Then boom boom boom 8, 9 and 10.
Just keep trying, and sometimes you make it, sometimes you don't.

I finally got my last one on my low level account with hours to spare. I do have to thank Gree for allowing me to finish one of these events for the first time ever. I play on 3 accounts and 2 different Gree games (MQ and KA) and this is the first one I have finished. (I did manage to scratch off a 6/6 daily ticket for the 1500A mob) Thanks again Gree!
