I don't really get how not attacking rivals is any kind of boycott that Gree would notice or care about.

To me, the only kind of effective boycott is one that involves slowing the money flow.

Since Gree bought MW from Funzio - I doubt they have any investment on what happens inside the game - just what happens outside the game - as in money.

That's odd, now that I think of it.
I broke out in laughter at a funeral once.
The deceased was a very good friend.
I looked at him in the casket, and it made me remember something he and I had done years ago.
I later explained to his wife my laughter, and she laughed, too.
