I just reached 250 and im seeing people with thousands, whats the point?. Im only going to 300 for the nc

The "advantage" of having 499 is that you won't be targeted for thug life goals where the rival has to have at least 500. That's fine so long as a 499er isn't doing thug life themselves. If they are, then they're a rat and fully deserve every kicking that comes their way.

As for the people who have thousands who knows. Some might think that if they add every single person they encounter they'll never be attacked or robbed. Total nonsense of course.

To make an estimation in my mind of whether they're doing thug life. For those who've done enough rounds there are also weapons to look for - the thug pistol and thug smg (the second is the reward for completing round 250; I don't remember which round the pistol comes on). If the fights total is significantly high and above robs then I usually judge they're doing TL and give them a 10-0 and a message.

I have 610 mafia. I would've had 505 but I was away from the game for a while and when I came back, I had about 100 pending requests and removing them all 1 by 1 would take too long so I just accepted them all.

I and a few knowledgeable others have Variable Mafia Numbers, we'll jump from 500+ down to less then 50 as circumstances require. I have 505 at the moment. Lower limit is 40 upper limit is 520.

I am somewhere around 190, just due to the fact I'm still trying to equip all my mafia before getting them, rather than the other way around.. So senseless to have mafia members that aren't able to use decent items from each category. And my income is decent without a NC, so I'm just adding them slowly, as I get more items.

I have 202 right now, mostly added for the boss. Eventually will go to 500 as my economy and weapons improve. No use having 500 if they are doing drive-bys in a junker with a pistol and a broken bottle.

The most I ever saw was around 43,000. Everybody was very excited about making it the largest mafia in the comments ._.

I'm not trying to avoid the 500 limit by staying at 345, but I'm trying to fill out with weapons and armor before I make a push to go for 500. My current amount was meant only for the nightclub builds.

For a while I was dropping down in between boss events and finding a nice spot where the robberies were fat and I could no-bank. There was one guy I could hit about once a week for over ten million in one shot. Then they adjusted the brackets so that no-banking wasn't working anymore... now I just sit at 500+

There's no rule babe. Rat catching was invented by Burn so hopefully he will drop in to give background, but to do TL goals whilst making yourself unavailable for targeting for other players doing likewise is dishonourable, same as serial robbers who have little or no income. Yes the game is about attacking and robbing, but it's also about give and take. Being a rat means you take but won't give back.

And what are you protecting by being a rat? A win/loss ratio which is just numbers at the end of the day. Right now I have over 22,300 fight wins and just 417 losses. When I eventually hit the tank that will doubtless take a dive, but so what.

Henchmen can't be removed, so it's an impossibility.. Hypothetically speaking, I would have no idea what the result would be from having 0 mafia.. Don't you get a henchman in the very beginning of the game?

Henchmen can be removed by support, as can anybody you might foolishly add to take your mob above 1000 strong (in fact that's the only way to get shot of those people)

I've seen many players requesting that support dump their henchman. I haven't seen anybody in particular do it in a while, but there was a craze when camping started to really ramp up.

Good to know, if the need ever arises. Seems silly all the things that support will do by request; it has to clog up their system with pointless queries about name changes and henchman removal, amongst other trivial things I'm sure they'll do that I'm unaware of..

I had support dump around 160 henchmen or so a few months ago.
The strategy about not having a full mafia generally has nothing to do with rats (except those sticking real close to 500). Its using the brackets to your advantage. Medium and heavy gold spenders generally have a max mafia as they want to flex their muscle to its full. Hard to achieve that with say 1/4 of max mafia for any level unless you are a cheat.
Those, imo, successfully employing mafia bracket manipulation can bring the full weight of their top better than respect items into battle but more importantly the entire defense score from buildings into play. Depending on level brackets they generally hold tight at lower to mid levels. There is a lot more variance in rival mob numbers as you level up.
The best strategy, imo, is to have close to zero alliance with a full compliment of upgraded defense buildings. I've been doing that for a better part of the year however with boss events and now high end consumable explosives I'm increasing mob numbers and potentially making a run for the next event. It's very tough if you have zero alliance and go to full during the timeline of a boss event even with pending requests.
Also, for me saving for level 8 night club upgrades will necessitate a lot of money unbanked so having less that full alliance may isolate me from heavy gold players with max alliance but also increasing the density of my defense buildings boost per mob member.

I have 1300 mafia: the reason was when I first started doing thug life, I think you needed 250 mafia.
Then it went up to 500, so I just presumed the next round of thuglife would be 750 then 1000.
So I just kept on adding! That was many moons ago. now I just can't be bothered reducing my mafia down to 500.

But I don't think there is a down side to having too many mafia! And I only have the people who I talk to on my first two pages!

I am level 123 and I just hit 500 mafia today. I am now up to 510 due to extra requests I sent out. I have noticed that my attack and defense jump up about 20 points every time I add a person over 500. Is there a glitch in the game?
