As some of you may have recently noticed, the Indians have offered an olive branch to CK. Idea is that we set up some mutually acceptable 'rules of engagement', reduce the animosity, and play a little more nicely - mostly cos they kept running to Mommy to complain that we played too rough for them - but all the same, we are gonna be a little kinder to them, cos they are a bit weak in the stats department, and a bit soft in the head department. ;)

I mean let's face it, we beat them, beat them badly, have realised they are zero threat, and we are now gonna let them off the hook a little.

So, as a notice of our intention to honor our claim to 'play fair', we are going to reveal our CK spy.

Yep, right here, live and direct on the forums, we are going to give you 4 clues to the identity of the Indian Spy who has infiltrated CK, who gets their club emails, and then reports back to Indian HQ to tell us all about their witless CK yammering.

The clues will get progressively easier as we go, in fact the final clue will be so easy, even CK themselves might be able to guess who it is ;)

The clues will be posted here in this thread by me, 1 today, 2 more clues tomorrow, and one final clue on Sunday.

Shortly following the final clue on Sunday, our Spy will finally reveal themselves by erecting a Teepee in their hood.

The winner who correctly reveals the identity of the Indian Spy will receive a nice shiny $100 iTunes voucher, with love from the Indians. We’ll even let CK join in, play and possibly win – see how nice we are.

I'm gonna guess that Paulio is the Indian spy, for the following reasons:

1. Paulio took a step to defend the Indians in the thread "Indians running scared, on the verge of total defeat" by claiming the thread to be stupid (Which it was), and to stop. Here's the exact quote:

This seems interesting. I recently entered the HLs myself and do not see many names with CK in them so makes this a little harder to figure out.

I would like to say Paulio just for the Machiavellian nature of it all, however, he really seems like a stand-up guy so can’t be him, plus if he recently dropped the CK tag from his name, would rule him out based on the description in Burn’s OP.

My guess as to who is the Indian spy, along with my reasoning as to how I came up with that guess, and why it was technically posted first - has been edited into Post #5 on Page One.

I'm gonna guess that Paulio is the Indian spy, for the following reasons:

1. Paulio took a step to defend the Indians in the thread "Indians running scared, on the verge of total defeat" by claiming the thread to be stupid (Which it was), and to stop. Here's the exact quote:

I'm assuming the final clues will make it rather obvious for any players who have been around awhile.

You are right, others could use your guess, but the clues will get easier and anyone with a degree of smarts should nail the identity of CK Spy on Sunday afternoon, if not before.

Basically Elimination Race involves getting some info that will only be made available in this thread at 3PM NYC time Sunday - to win u need to know correct name, which is where the clues come into play, and be first to get that info, which is where a bit of luck is involved.

Also for the record, no Indians can take part in this event, so it is a straight gig.

Further, the winner will be self-announced based on winning the Elimination Race by publically displaying an item right here on the forum for all to see. Thus a Race.

So to win you need to...
1. Establish the correct identity of the CK Spy (clues will get progressively easier).
2. Be first to grab a specific screenshot of a specific item, and post it in this thread (feel free to discuss the specifics of what you think this actually entails).

So here's a tip for all - you obviously need to learn how to post a screengrab from your device here on the forum, you will absolutely need that skill to win.

Maybe go start a 'Post Pictures of your Top Inventory Items' or somesuch thread, so everyone can nail this skill ;)

Just for the record..., our SPY decided what strategy CK should have, decided what enemy should be "eliminated" and proposed many other things, now guess what. ALL other Ck's followed the orders (of our Indian spy).

Very entertaining thread, Burn. But your recent post got me thinking - if the the spy decided which enemy should be "eliminated," and if that enemy is the Indians, then that means you guys created this entire war from scratch. That's pretty weird, but also a clever (and cynical) way of squeezing out every drop of entertainment this game has to offer.

Either which way, the reality is that there was never a war between CK and the Indians. It was always the just the Indians and only a handful of us up in the high levels. As you know, I am no longer in CK, but I still enjoy battling the beasts.

You call this event an "olive branch." But in reality, it's the best you could have possibly done to dissolve CK. So on the Indian's behalf, good on you. But then there's the other side - guys like G Wiz and myself, who have tried to keep things civilized, interesting and bring a sense of class to CK. We were actually trying to give you guys a battle. Something to play for. Unfortunately, there are just too many morons among us that made that task impossible. Burn, I know you respect us. But with this thread you just make us look like fools by association. So for that, bad on you.

P.s. Anyone who thinks I am the spy, guess again. The clue says that the spy has NEVER attacked an Indian. I've posted screen shots of me beating Lupo.

what then would be your analysis as to why the accumultion of morons (your words) in ck. My own personal opinion is that it came about through recruiting strong players rather than those with character. I believe the house of cards is falling apart because the lack of strength in the pillars and with you leaving and several other key players (bonecrusher, morphine) can't figure what would hold it together now and make it anything but anarchy..

I have battled a lot of CK at the low levels and many have been quite decent, but I have seen my share of "morons" who spew vulgarity at the drop of a hat, and watched the open conflict occuring on the walls of your former mafia.

What would you do differently based on your experience?

Teach, the main problem wasn't because of focusing on recruiting strong players. Most of the strong CK players have been pretty decent. For the record, the Indians are mostly okay in my book, but you guys also have a few morons.

The way I see it, the problem has always been the sheer size of the group. Every other problem stems from that. 1) Players don't get to know each other 2) it's difficult to communicate and 3) it makes it too easy to infiltrate.

Yeah Sean hit both me and Fuzzy... We couldn't do anything to him for the most part but both of us gave him courtesy links as we went through.. Duncko was able to take him out and stop him from no banking.

The post you saw was probably me giving him some good natured grief about camping...

I think they probably do Zora. The Indians in high levels are all long time players, and all the group not currently up there (teach, Fuzzy, Sasha and youknowwho) are all forum regulars who know each other well. The full list of Indians is probably not much different in length from the list of CK leaders and captains past and present on this thread. Paulio is absolutely right in his analysis. I said as much during the post-Baroness reorganisation and argued that the lower stat players should have been let go from CK to stop them just becoming punchbags. CK's big problem was that everybody and his dog seemed to want to join it, and too many were admitted who shouldn't have been.

if I look at the Oldians squad and the CK, I prefer joining the CK. why? because they have balls to challenge the so called "the best" of the breed. indians picked up all the high level people or whoever had the balls to spend $$$$$ over this game. CK gave chance to all sort of players, be it high level or low level. Oldians kept only those who had great stats, CK welcomed even those who couldn't spend big $$$$$. Oldians are managing a hand full of players, CK leadership is managing 140+ members.

But the original Cold Mafia was never formed with the intention of battling the Indians Zora (I was there pretty much from the start). Rather the intention was a group of friends who would have fun in the game and help each other out if needed against rivals. The spark for that was when outcoldking came to the assistance of Sean at a time when another player was being a persistent pita.

As to why it became over large I guess there'll be as many theories as members. New members were supposed to be run past the leadership but people got in because of freelance recruiting or because they were friends of an existing member. And like I said, it became the mob for the 'cool kids' to want to join.

Paulio, it's a shame you feel like there is any malice in this thread - it was intended to be light-hearted, entertaining, and for one player at least, financially rewarding.

Look at what you get; Spy revealed so CK are free to discuss their strategy in private. All things being equal, a CK player should be favorite to win the Vault of Gold.

Forget the semantics and the tail-pulling - it's a CK win.

As for CK looking foolish, you need to look a little closer to CK HQ to fix that. We just highlight the issues, as we surely have every right to do, but we don't always create them.

btw I agree with much of your analysis of where the problems lie within CK - you should have broken away from CK with the elite and set up your own crew when the chance arose - that you didn't is of course testament to your loyalty and should be applauded.

As for CK disbanding - probably the best thing that could happen mate - it needs dissolving and starting over, using lessons learned to make CK V2 better. Unlikely though, because I think at least one key figure in the CK leadership prefers CK quantity over CK quality.
