Dencences at high levels & decorations

I see pps at higher levels have sold thier guard towers & abonded buildings even thou they seem to have plenty room,why i cant figure as it seems like they have used the space for decorations instead.
I understand some want to be artistic with thier hoods & they add a miniute of defence in comparsion to better defence buildings, as said i cant figure why when surely selling them lowers your defence.
when they could put them in a coner & forget about them.

is this simply for aesthetic reasons?
Or is there another reason?

What escapes me is my 5/6 guard towers & 4 abonded buildings add 1000 points to my defence,as the folks I've seen at higher levels than me sold them as said I really can't figure.

Please could you point me in the right direction with this,as throwing money at them when soon they maybe redundant doesn't seem to be the best way forward.

you should read at best of the best guides about defence buildings.
Their stats when their level is beyond one are totaly fake, so the true defence that u get from a lev 10 guard tower for example is 16.5 when the fake stats are 225 or 248 for tycoon.
So in higher levels when somebody has 100K stats the help he gets from that kind of buildings is ridiculous

^This, I am slowly selling some of my defense buildings for this very reason. I have 2 level 8 abandoned buildings right now worth 93 defense each so total of 186 but they are not truly giving me that defense. I'm trying to get my defense number as true as I can and have stopped upgrading past level one.

quick advises...
your goal must be to get 50 gutling turrets lev1 or max lev 3
50 missile turret lev 1- up to 2

for quick defence at low level muay Thai center up to lev 3 are ok

if u r in high levels and you have spare space and you don't have anything better to build
maybe few Surveillance Centers will be ok, too
personaly i don't spend time in updating defence buildings, only money buildings but i like building my income (it is my personal goal to get 3milions/ph)

On topic, i don't care too much about defense and IPH so my hood, as i said, is well decorated. The best way to fill the space is with decorations.

Yep, only 4 are allowed.

The russian restaurant is there because there is a job-quest-whatever, after i made it pooped another with "collect 1000 times of any build" so i made de laundromats. It's provisional, my income will be 0 per hour.
