from 37 to 44 crates, i was trying to catch up but no event parts at all then i stop using gold at 45...

from 38 to 60 crates which is the 2nd to 3rd day that no event parts at all between those numbers...

That's exactly what I do. I'm not gonna 20 engines from cash opens, and I've only gotten 10 of them once.

Have you ever played roulette? The odds are the same on any given spin. There are 18 red numbers, 18 black numbers and at least one green number. However, it is not uncommon to see 10 or more spins land on a red number. This is when you have players running over to bet on black. It is the same with the boxes. Last event I got 29 with cash opens. Extremely lucky! That is like the 10 spins in a row landing on red. This event I am only at 4. This means I am not getting lucky with my opens. You do not have to open 10 boxes to get 1 part just because the chance of getting a part for any given box is 10%. You might get two in a row like Gambit just did.

OH, and by the way, those people with 40+ boxes are using lots of gold to do timer resets, energy resets, stamina refils, and gold opens.

I think I spent $10 in gold and some TJ gold last event to get 30 and finish in the top 250. For the first few days I only got parts though and in total only about 4 of the boxes I opened didnt have a part in them.

I think the unit rewards you can get for free (meaning no gold) are absolutely worth the participation!
Only thing I hate with auction events is the damn grunts (+1 ally) since I haven't started on building an army and want to keep ally count at a minimum!

The objective of this game is camping, basically to not level and not get allies - to grow strong among your equals (and also to delay arriving in the deep end of the pool).
If you're already leveling from pvp, and getting crates on top of that, getting those indestructible units makes you stronger than buying equivalent units with cash, some are (way) stronger than what the normal cash arsenal can get you. For me, the expense of cash opens are no problem at all, it's even way cheaper than buying the equivalent cash unit!
Not to mention the very fun gaming factor of collecting the "lottery tickets" (crates) and overall doing the events!
(Unfortunately, I can imagine for medium and higher gold spenders it becomes more of a grind...
And a big disappointment if you don't get something you invested a lot of gold into.)

And you are completely correct! I should have added that I'm talking in the context of small ally numbers, then a few special units do a much bigger contribution. At medium and especially higher ally counts, 40 special units among 200 units is a very small impact.

Right now though, I'm top 5% of the players in my rival list (top 10% of equal or more ally ones).
This depends on the visibility range that GREE sets, think they broadened it recently, as I suddenly started seeing 5 ally to 32(+) ally players, luckily though the low ally ones have way too low buildings for me to bother raiding XD


oh, and up on 6 parts atm, getting lotsa sorrys

I switched to gold at 15 on my LLP. I was bored and figured I'd go for top 250. Course now it's all the way at 23! The HLP is at 11, with all cash. Don't think I'll make it to 15, and the 15th unit isn't worth spending gold.

I wasn't having much luck but finished with 38 and got the chopper.

I stopped at 37 on the llp. Looks like gambit had 35 and won. Everytime I swear I'm never spending gold again, and then end up using gold. I think I used 1,000 gold to get the extra 17 or so parts. Not a bad deal i suppose. Hlp had 15 parts using cash option.

I'm really disappointed, got only 14.
Part #2-5 came almost all in a row, so I thought I got a "lucky boost" and would get 15 for sure, maybe even 20.
That, plus I opened a few every night during sleep, and mostly kept the times.
If I had kept the times perfectly, maybe 5-8 more opens, but seeing as the last 3 days the droprate was butchered, I doubt #15 would be possible...

Do you guys think the droprate is tied to leveling? I.e. if you increase in level you're rewarded with higher droprate?
(only leveled once or twice this event and had plenty of crates...)

You are asking about the drop rate for parts, correct? I don't think so. I think it's just the randomness of the programming that determines whether you get parts or loot. Sometimes you get lucky and have a better run of parts dropping rather than loot.

Case in point, when I finally got the event to pop up on my phone there was 3 days left. I didn't try to participate but got 6 crates. Opened them all on cash (a few sorry's in there obviously) and got a part in every single crate. That is luck.

Well done Gambit. Where's that get you? I got 6 VTOL's pretty much 'cos I haven't tried, also some cash, valor and an adorable little grunt who runs around minefields for recreation.
