I attack people wo have no cash all the time. What else am I going to use stamina for? I'm not going to spend hours looking for a building to rob, forget that! If I visit someone to attack them and I find something to rob, cool, but otherwise I just beat people up. I don't care if they have cash on hand or not.

Same here, when I attack, its only for Thug Life / Hardcore Hitman. If they have cash on hand,bonus.

I have had more boxes stolen from me than I have successfully opened. at the moment I am sitting on 11 boxes. I need 7 to get into top 250 and 5 to get the first prize... Am I unlucky or is this seriously nerfed? Theoretically I could spend 10 dollars to get 9 100% chances but that would take 9 hours, and even if every box contained a jet pack the top 250 would still be out of reach.

3 opens out of 16 tries, under 20% success rate so far, seems about normal for me in these events

I have had more boxes stolen from me than I have successfully opened...Am I unlucky or is this seriously nerfed...
1) Don't worry about stolen boxes...you'll end up with way more than you can afford to open anyway
2) You've been a bit unlucky...but there's plenty of time to change that
3) During the last event of this kind (the Tesla Coils) i opened almost 100 boxes and got super close to getting 15 Tesla Coils...so i spent $5 for some gold in case i needed it. (i actually had 2 days to go and thought i'd make the 20).
In the final hour i had 14 Tesla Coils, enough time to open 1 last box, and a bit of gold...i know, big woop $5 is not really spending money...but right now i seriously can't afford to spend money on a game...in a few months, no worries but...anyway i though $5 won't make a difference to my life, but it'll get me that extra Tesla Coil.
So i spent some gold to get the 100% chance during the final hour...and what did i get...$30k!
WTF! ...100% chance at the cost of real money says to me i'm getting a Tesla Coil...not 100% chance at a random item and if i'm lucky it's a Tesla Coil!
So what could i do...i had enough gold left to reset the timer and try again...the second time i got +1 Mafia.
Well screw you funzio! in my book that's false advertising. i really enjoy this game, but it seems you either play free or pay crazy dollars...and paying a little will just put you off...not cool.
So my advice is either try your luck at the events for free and be thankful with whatever you get, or pay $100 to get not much more, and several hundred dollars if you want to make the charts...check around the forums...i was shocked at how much some of the players here spend per event :O

My luck on this event has been as good as yours, I open at least 18 a day I'm on two I got my first one after 10 tries with cash.
On my camper account I open for free and only try here and there and I'm on three.

Not keeping an exact track of these events anymore.

In general it seems the first day the chances are the highest of getting the required item.
I am doing this event since today, don´t know how many times I have tried opening boxes, but I got 4 of them so far.
I remember a little while ago I had 8 on the first day.

After the first day the chances rapidly go down, atleast for me they do.

Well over 50 attempts and only 7 openings including 1 jet packs. I have 63 boxes in my inventory. You guys with the 20% rate are lucky.... I can not get a 20% jet pack even in open boxes...

This game seems like it has an extreme two tier system. Money is king, and it seems not just money but BIG Money.

I do not have a problem with people who spend $$ to have it easier but this is ridiculously extreme. Paying should give you an advantage, not paying should not make it impossible to compete in the events.
There should be the option for the gamer to compete with the $$ guys. I suggest that event boxes should have the option of being stacked.

An example would be be
No money = low chance
Money = medium chance
Money + 5 boxes = medium chance + 25%
Money + 10 Boxes = medium chance + 50%

This way the guy who works hard and farms, has an incentive. I expect the amount of $$ raised by the event would be the same. It would have more people actually in the race, therefore people would be more willing to kick out $10 or $20 to get the last few boxes opened.

Yes the money players in this game play with serious money, and no...free players cannot compete with them. But that doesn't mean free players can't enjoy playing.
I'm a free player, and i love the game. It's just a shame that donating a little bit of money doesn't change anything, cos i'd be happy to spend $20 here and there...but it's pointless cos lots of ppl are paying hundreds of dollars frequently.
There's still thousands and thousands of free players to compete with...what would be cool is the occassional event where the max you can spend is 10 or 20 dollars...so all the little guys can have a shot at something cool

This event is not a fail...sometimes you get lucky, sometimes the opposite. Last event i busted myself to try and get 20 Tesla Coils, i even sacrificed a few days of good sleep by setting an alarm to wake me every hour...and after opening 100+ crates i only ended with 14 Tesla Coils.
This event i've already got 13, i'm in the top 250, and there`s 2 whole days to go.

I know how frustrating it is to get 15 fails in a row...you just have to remember you're not competing for top spots and you're getting a bunch of cool stuff here and there for free.

You'll notice some days it only goes up by 1 and other days it goes up by 5. Don't waste too much time on the famine days but hit it every 60 minutes during the feast days.

Let's put this into perspective. Gold players are stronger but the only thing they can get out of weaker ones is useless in-game cash (or occasional boxes). Or maybe a PVP item, but there is also little value in that. Some of the events are discussed in terms of gambling, but real gambling brings you real money if you win, not 2000 Atk points.

There is no payoff for strong player other that to show off their stats in this forum. Or watch the leaderboard (but we now how manipulated that seems at times). And it's not only real money, it's also a few months of their lifes devoted to getting those Atk/Def stats and IPH.

In fact, here's the paradox. The strong players are the biggest losers of the game. They are under pressure not to get weaker in their peer group and not to lose, otherwise what was the point of previous spending? Thus they have to keep spending to maintain status quo or to get better. But since there is no real payoff, there will be a cliff, from which each of them will fall.

Either they start losing in the game and get depressed one way or another. Or they lose it in real life: there were posts about problems with jobs, etc. I think a free player has a MUCH lower chance to experience that.

Can't say that I argue with you there, though I am a bit envious of some of these people's jobs, of which can afford to spend that much money on a mobile game. I'm not far from foreclosure myself, while others are dropping thousands on pixels. Somebody needs to help a brotha out with a job!

Really though, I can't call someone who has a much better quality of life than me a loser. I'm more realistic than that. Though they may get more frustrated with the game, life is what frustrates me the most. The game is a bit of a release, most of the time. I've done my fair share of raging about this game too though.

Why doesn't my game call the server to determine the result of my open attempt? More often than not, my game doesn't do anything, it just gives me a default blnt pop up. My finger was still on the button for attempt 80 and the fail screen came up.

The word "rigged" comes to mind. I can't prove it, but all these default fails without server calls is enough to make anyone suspicious.

I've noticed this as well... If I see the server call, more often than not, I open successfully. BLNT's are almost always an instant screen...

I'll take a look at the IP traces again but I'm pretty sure it makes the exact same call to the server whether you open successfully or not (based on previous traces). There is definitely a longer delay when successfully opening, though. Could be from the game updating inventory (and thus goals...yeah, goals are updated each and every time your app contacts the server with an inventory update...waste of data IMO).

I'm pretty sure everything is working as intended with this leaderboard event. The board doesn't update when you hit refresh, it updates when GREEdzio tells it to.

I'm not sure if I still have the screen shots, but a few events ago even the bottom end of the leaderboard was visibly inaccurate. I was in place 250 with however many items, but looking at my actual total I was several items ahead of the leaderboard.

I just find that it makes as much sense to assume everything is legit with these events as it does to go to the carnival and assume the games there are all legit.

Anyone else just find out about in-AppStore.com, that russian iTunes hack to get free in app purchases?

I found out about it the day it shut down, only a few days ago. The hacker who invented it said iOS 6 would have it fixed, so he would only continue offering the "service" to close friends.

I wonder if that free in app purchase hack worked with CC. If it did, I wonder how many "big spenders" got gold that way. I know there are legit spenders, I'm not talking about them.

On more than one occasion though, I was destroying a player who apparently won a lottery and was suddenly able to afford hundreds of vaults of gold. Nobody else thinks it's suspicious when that happens overnight? Apple limits the number of vaults you can buy to prevent fraud (or something like that, idk), but at least once, and with a very well known player who is currently top 25, stats jumped so much overnight that it could not have been done with the amount of gold apple would have allowed them to purchase in one day.

If that Russian hack did actually shut down, I wonder how many big spenders will suddenly become ex-spenders. :p

This gold hack is only a 'maybe'.

From what I understand of the hack, it only works if the app does not confirm the purchase directly with the iTunes server. If the server software performs this check (which may or may not be likely), then it won't work.

Ok, well I can think of more than one reason why I missed that discussion.

I can also think of a top 25 player who is a likely candidate for having made use of that "tool", if it did in fact work with CC. Well known, possible case of multiple personalities, supposedly has already had one account banned for cheating...

There was two high profile board members who are in a certain gang who's stats jumped like that as well. Wouldn't surprise me if they used the hack but we will never find out.
I believe, for some reason, the one your talking about dude is actually a real spender. A bit crazy but spends real money non the less.

That's not impossible, but spending real money doesn't mean "didn't use the Russian free purchases tool".

I know we'll never know for sure, but it will be interesting to see who's spending habits change once they can't make fake iTunes purchases anymore.

Also, by board members do you mean regular top players from the leaderboard, or forum members? If you're talking about forum members, I think I know who you're talking about and their "stat jumps" don't hold a flame to the amount of increase I saw with the player I was referring to.

I could be wrong, but I think the players you're talking about (if they are who I think they are) just bought a lot of ammo crates. Their stats jumped while those were the available crates, and someone did say something about a goof up that caused rares to drop like commons.

Both. One is a board member but not top 25, the other is top 25 and board member. I like both and am friends with both so would like to think they didn't use that. Stocking up on ammo crates is one thing but to that extent when they didn't have a big prior spending history is the suspect part of it. The real money input that just springs from nowhere is a bit suspicious. But as I say Ill happily give the benefit of doubt because they both seem top blokes.
Also one of the stat jumps would put the one your talking about to shame. If it is who I think it is. There stats are now quite a lot higher than the crazy many personalities person.

Its a scam this one , sorry simple as that , 800+ x 90 gold (miminimum for a item) 72000 gold .
but normal is between 120-150 gold a piece . simple check if that person paid 5000$ it is Tam item .
but the numbers shown on the ladder event , I pitty Traz this time , cause she should have stayed out of this one.
Cause average spending for the ladder event is around 5000-10000 gold , so if the money is in the statistic this week , then we know it is legit ,
If statistic shows a huge income drop , then we know people are cheating .

Then the witch hunt begins , and saying chinese gold , doesn't mean it is legit ... same as exploiting cheaper crates
People should not be rewarded for it , sorry no income to apple or gree , says enough .

let me say this , previous ladder events , I know some people are dubious , but most are legit .
But this one really showed something else , am not talking about indians or poppins ..

But let simply say the cheater gone too bold , they must know the loop is closing in .
Cause the item was not warrant so much spending , the % attack increase yes .
The laserrifle cause it is a gun yes , a car stats that is not that terrific compared to boss events cars .
Does not warrant this kind of spending, in a ladder event , especially cause the bonus is crap .

It really scams the honest spenders this event , sorry it is too obvious there is a hack going on this time !

think that chinese gold while valid , is just a poppin ploy to cover that he did "paid", meaning the russian app did work .
Well not hard to check the income versus gold spending , since everything is registrated .
And especially for the top 25 , even top 250 is worth the investigation this time .
The leak might not be easy to fix , but a quick call between apple and gree , can easily expose all .

Gree - We're paying for pixels so the least you could do is make each prize different. FFS all you need to do is change the colour of the gun. I suggest you play Call Of Duty, there's loads of gun colours to inspire your simply product team!

You can apply this to all the weapons categories but especially the Vehicles. YOU SHOULD NEVER BE RELEASING THE SAME COLOUR VEHICLE! There's hundreds of colours to choose from.

For a company who created such a profitable game you really do seem brain dead sometimes. If the top 250 prize had been a different colour you would have got me to spend at least another 1000 gold bars. My wallet thanks you yet again.

Yea thats why i didn't go for it because the top 250 prize would have been in my top 10 items yet it looks the same as a number of other guns i've got in my inventory so i didn't think it was worth it.

I do want to win a top 250 prize again because i haven't bothered with them since they axed the top 250 modifier so the last one i won was the Samurai armor. I'll have to wait for the next event and see what that top 250 prize looks like.

900 gold for that prize is a pretty good price though. If that was a limited item in the store it would probbaly cost well over 1500 gold.

I'm in the same boat, I'm right about there. In the past few events I've scored the top 250 with usually around 300-400 gold. I justified it on you wouldn't get as good an item for that plus you got the 4 items working towards it. I'm really pissed that I wasted so much gold but I felt the fact that I already invested gold I to the event it would be stupid not to get the item

So with that I can now say congratulations Gree I will never spend gold on an event again. I may not be a massive gold buyer like others but you always got a few bucks out of me here and there. After getting swindled on this event I can say that wont happen again....

I got into the top 250. I wanted to see what it would take. Compared to some of the guns worth 800 gold, it was actually a fairly good deal, as you gaurentee item 15, and 20 as well as the item, netting ~5-600/4-500 stats. I have an incling that if you went for crates instead, you'd probably end up better off. Unless your me and end up with nothing but commons.

That's roughly the amount of gold I've saved up over the past few months. I was tempted to spend it on this event, before the drop rate went to hell, to get a strong "cobra" gun to go with my cobra roadster.

I'm glad I didn't spend it. Based on experience, a "good" event for me is somewhere between 22-25 items without spending gold, and a box open rate that's at least somewhat reasonable. The prizes are useless, so it's not unreasonable to expect a half way decent open rate.

I have not placed top 250 ever, never mind without gold (in CC), and I don't expect to. But if I'm not having a "good event" as described above, I can't see a limited amount of gold making any drastic changes.

That's pretty much how I came to the conclusion that I would be better to continue saving the past few events. I'm starting to bank gold similar to how Erik was (is?) banking RPs.

I was in the top 250 for the entire event luckily getting about half of the jet packs with in-game money As the event is coming to an end I was still hanging in there and just as the sucker comes to a close and hits that final second, the message that I needed 1 more jet pack to reach the top 250 flashes on my screen, nothing I could do but sit there with a slack jaw....royally pissed I must say. I feel so cheated!

I was frustrated with a drop rate of 17% for the first few days. I couldn't even keep ahead of the top 250 without a few more resets. This was by far my worst overall drop rate for this type of event. My final tally was 1,965 gold to get in the top 250 with 28 jet packs. I'd say the item was NOT worth this much gold.

To be fair, the last event I had unusually good opening rates and was in the top 250 with only 620 gold spent. I guess it all averages out in the long run.
