I don't know if you are free player or gold player but your best chances of getting 10 are within first 6-8 hours after event pops up. Yes it requires gold resets for energy refills to farm boxes and gold timer re-sets and gold opens. I am originally a MW player and one of forum members (McDoc) explains his method in a FAQ in MW forum. This may be common knowledge already and if so just ignore. Just wanted to share. It doesn't guarantee a win but all I can say is I have attempted it 3 times with his method and been successful all 3 times. All other events played for free and never got all 10. It got a little pricey on last one but oh well. :)

I'm a free player (and will probably be for a long time), I'll try my luck with just cash. Thanks for the info though, I didn't know about that 'rush' technique.

Free and in-game cash options are my future too. The rush technique seems to work because it seems more of the "collectibles" are available in the beginning of the event.

I got 2 boxes in Chinatown-Teahouse but I think any job can drop boxes, for instance during the last 10/10 event on Android I got tons of crates at Civic Center-Mini Mart. As for attacking/robing people I think everybody (not just android users) can drop boxes. At least it was the case during the last event.

I could be wrong, but I think iOS users will drop safe deposit boxes because it was a previous iOS event and they still have the leftovers in their inventory. (Hidden after the event is over but still there)

Got 3 more boxes from the teahouse in Chinatown (190 energy), it seems to be a good spot. And if you're lucky you'll get an armored police truck too :)

Don't give up so easily. Sometimes you don't get anything for 1-2 hours and suddenly you get 5 boxes/crates. Also, attack laundromats 1 or 2 times and move to another target if nothing drops.

Yep, that's exactly what I have.

Not getting any box drops from attacking players though. I got about 8 to drop while farming ECBs in Red Light District.

You won't get boxes dropping until players have them. Forum players are generally ahead of the curve by about 6 hours :p By the end of the first day, you should be getting a very steady supply of crates from players :)

I'm level 56, before and after the last android only event, I received the pimp lowriders, during the event I was getting racer z's. Likewise, I was getting hitman's sniper rifle instead security shotgun, ballistic vests instead of bomb suits, 300R instead of 100R, cash prize increase from 6K/30K to 10K/50K. I mistakenly thought that I had went into another tier and did not take advantage of the situation. No biggie.

There's no way to tell perfectly because it's handled server side, however if you go through other peoples efforts it's pretty easy to tell :)

It seems to me that I get a box/crate/whatever right away if I follow the "Goals" thingie up top, possibly funzio's way of keeping campers moving along... I used to get robbed a lot, so I just keep my one hour buildings timed so I collect, go to the new area and hit the green arrows 'til it gives me a crate, open it with the in-game cash and then run back to my Hood and hide (by my best Defensive Building! ;)

Gotten 2 gemstone pendants out of 6 try. Seems to get more crates by attacking & robbing than doing goals. So far the crates dropped I had was fr droid players. Has anyone manage to get crates fr ios players?

SO far it has been quite difficult to get the safe deposit boxes. I have depleted my energy at least twice and only got 1. Robbing people and doing PvP didn't work either. Just got 2 more after doing some jobs now...but it's not usually this difficult to get the boxes. Anyone else have this problem?

Getting crates from PVP is way more efficient than getting them from jobs. Jobs should never be a dependant source for getting crates. In just two days I received 240+ crates from PVP for the insulated crate event (Which did not include android players :( )

Running a study on these, I never received more than 2.125 crates/1000 energy spent on ANY job. It's honestly not worth your troubles :p

I got a Deviant's Coat just now 8/20 when I should have gotten Bomb Squad Suit, so I'm pretty certain that items are higher values than other regular events. Maybe it is small gesture for Android users since even the common boss items for iOS events are pretty good.

Maybe a stupid question, but how can you distinguish between ios and droid players when choosing to attack? I'm playing on a droid myself.

Check rival's inventory & look out for EQ (given only for droid past events such as burglar gloves, luxury escort or even current event items I.e FBI Tactical Vest). Skip those that hv samurai items coz they are only from boss events). Correct me if I'm wrong if anyone manage to get crate from ios players.

That's still accurate but that's from the IOS data, not sure if it's the same drop rates but it's a pretty good rule of thumb to follow.

I went 10-0 on three different ios players who already had the loaded dice and got nothing. I figured they would definitely have an extra box to spare. I found it to be tougher than normal to get drops with energy. I did a 325 energy job 5 times before getting one!

Need two more here. I'm fed up with this event, I just want the prize and then forget about the frustration. Regarding drops from jobs, the teahouse in Chinatown and the factory in Pier 13 have been pretty good for me.

Your current upgrade will continue unaffected, and the Loaded Dice will shorten all future upgrades by 25%.

They're a little funky right now though... They're giving 43.75% faster upgrades for some reason.

What's even more strange is if you are doing a lvl 1 to 2. Gatling 1 to 2 should be 4 hours, but it's running 2.25 hours?

Just started a loft level 7-8 upgrade. 78:11:35. It is supposed to take 139 hours and 6 minutes. Last upgrade took 89 hours. This is one bug I don't mind if they take their time on.

For the people wondering, the reason why it's happening is because the loaded dice has 2 entries in the data for the decrease in time for the upgrade.

The devils mayhem also has 2 entries, resulting in two stacking 65% reductions in energy resulting in +7 every 53 seconds I believe.

Hopefully this sheds some light on the glitch. This probably won't be fixed until we have a new data set.

I think the greater reduction is calculated first. I have two -10% items, although one still isn't working yet, and all my upgrades are 49.375% faster. I think your math is right but you're reading the answer incorrectly. The 50.625% you see is not the amount of time reduced from the total, but rather the total of the unmodified upgrade time.

So if you had an unmodified upgrade time of 100:00:00, your new time would be ~50:40:00.

Using your calculator and the same calculations you already did, 100-25%-25%-10% = 50.625. If you reset and calculate 100-49.375% you get the same result, 50.625.

From my POV, I have one faster upgrade modifier that doesn't work (and is supposed to be exclusive to 25 players in the game), and one faster upgrade modifier that's glitched, causing better upgrade times than I should have but is affecting everyone who owns the Loaded Dice...

While I am "okay" with the way things are, I would like it better if everything was fixed and working as intended. I'm supposed to have a slight advantage over the majority of my rivals regarding upgrade times, and currently that is not what's happening. I want my advantage. :p:cool:

*Due to super extra double rare circumstances, this item was deleted by support and replaced with a different collect 10 item, the Striker Minigun (Building upgrades cost 30% less). I don't know if this will work for everyone but I have noticed that once an hour, example: after I try to open a box, I go to Hillcrest and do the "Old Tenement" job (top right of screen) it gives me a box EVERYTIME. It cost 440 energy but if I waste a box by winning 500RP, I know I'll at least get that box back to try again later. I know it sounds weird but I tried to do it every 45 mins and every 50 mins and I wouldn't get a box, but every 60-65 mins I do. Just a thought

I use to struggle big time on tbese events but the last two i've gotten 10 stress free. Gotten 2-3 gems/paintings per day on around 14 opens. The thing i've done different the last 2 events was stockpile safety deposit boxes on day 1 by attacking a tonne of players and doing high energy missions (attacking a area boss). I usually have 30 or so at a time and have a pretty high success rate opening.

These events are repeats of IOS events. So most IOS players will have these items anyways...

I really think it's random. I would guess something like 40-50% for a gem, and the other 50-60% divided up between cash, weapons, and respect.

Honestly, I only opened about 16 or 17 crates (please don't hate me). Obviously 10 for gems; the other 6 or so....I remember one Mark 2 Blade, one minigun, two $10,000 cash, two 50 respect. Not sure what else. But a couple days in the past 5 days I was opening every hour on the hour for about 9 hours straight.

Maybe having fewer crates in your inventory when you open helps, because I never had more than 2 in my possession at a time. But I can't imagine why they'd make that so - perhaps to help out people who can only do lower energy jobs?

But if anyone wants to try something new in a last ditch effort to get that 10th pendant, try not acquiring more and just open the ones you have remaining. Like I said earlier, I never had more than 2 crates in my possession at any time and I got a pendant better than 50% of the time.

If it's easy for you to get crates, just do it as you get down to 1-2 crates left and then keep trying to open.

Well yeah, that's how the old collect 10 events worked. Every gem (or whatever event item) you get decreases your chances of getting another one.

That worked perfectly on iOS, almost everyone had a hard time getting #10... And getting more than 10 was just unheard of!

Usually the images of the items are the same from tier to tier, it's just the name and stats that change. Looking at the different screenshots though the items are completely different. Ie: Insomniac has a Getaway Car as his 5th item prize, but NTM has a Deadly Cutter (melee).

I been stuck on 8 since 3.5 days left on the timer... Its been a very strange run I must say. Got to 8 fairly quickly, and since then I have opened as much as I can, which is 12-16 per day. After #8, I have successfully opened maybe 6 or 7... all cash option. Just seems strange that I can't even seem to get the crappy enhanced bikes or batons or even cash or RP prizes. I am dumbfounded for sure. I started last hour opening with the gold option. I guess the G.C. I was saving for, which I was only 10g away will have to wait. :(

but my opinion is that its too tough to get the 10th. think over, if you waste ur gold and still dont get the 10th. search older events, you'll find many complaining that they wasted gold for 10th and didnt get anything. on the other hand, not everybody spent gold to get the 10th. there are many who got it with the game money ..

Watch out i won't lie i spent a good chunk of gold on getting the 10th i have finally got it but i went through a lot of boxes... just a fyi it has to be on a timer or odds or something but there is a good chance you may not get it unless you are willing to drop some money and you really have to grind for the boxes. I got most of mine from robbing people, then missions, last attacking. Sum it up, either hit hard or not at all!

Opening chances for every event are always the same for me. I open all boxes with cash option only and always get up & about this result:
1/3 = Better Luck Nexttime
1/3 = Armor/Weapon/Car/Cash/Big Cash
1/3 = Gem/Event item.

Seems to be pretty consistent in all events so far.

I am shocked that people on here are saying they have opened more than 50 boxes without finding a gem. I seriously only opened about 20 total and got all 10 gems needed (all with cash, never gold). I'm not at level 20 yet though (in all honesty, i moved up about 5 levels just doing jobs to get crates). Perhaps it's harder for higher level players since they can obtain crates easier from higher energy jobs?

Otherwise, how can you explain it? zweirdone said he opened over 60 without a gem? Polarbear said he opened 87 opens without one?!?! All things being equal, the odds of that are ridiculously low. Which leads me to believe all things are not equal.

Yea, I definitely feel robbed, cheated, mislead, bamboozled... all in one.

Including cash opens, I probably opened around 25-30 safe deposit boxes (after already acquiring my 9th) and never got a 10th. Nothing but some crappy enhanced bikes, sledge hammers and respect. With the $$, time and effort I wasted on this event I definitely feel cheated.

Hopefully Funzio handles this situation correctly.

I redid the maths. 600 gold is about a ~63% chance, if you are at 9 items.

Well, I'm also stuck at 9 still. My roommate got to 10 AGAIN, opening no MORE than 8 chests per day. He's about 30 levels lower than I am, but that shouldn't matter. Absolutely nothing should matter when I open DOUBLE the amount of chests he does per day. I spend over twice as much time as he does playing this game, and get rewarded with extreme anger and frustration. Two events now he's gotten to the grand prize, and I've been stuck at 9. Absolutely unbelievable.

Ended up opening about 45 chests since getting my 9th and never got the last gem. Got all kinds of crap bikes, hammers, batons, cash, respect.. All which adds up to nothing in comparison to a non-consumable explosive with a great bonus on it.

This is the most pissed I have been with this game now by far. This formula behind this events is completely inexcusable, and needs desperate reworking. If you reward your casual players more than your dedicated ones, what's to keep them playing?

First 8 gems was easy as usual (1 day), 9th took about 1 day (~10 attempts).
About 50 crates were opened to get 10th item with mixed cash and free option. Cash: ~45% items, 55% Sorry. Free: 20% items 80%Sorry

There is probably a glitch that allowed to several low-mid tier players (Bala87, Insomniac) to receive top award enormously easy. Their screenshots contain items that weaker than mine and have other names (Loaded Dice = Big's 7).
As for others, Ramshutu's rule of thumb "2% success per opening attempt to receive 10th event item (with cash?)" seems to be working.

My personal opinion: this event worked exactly as the same event for iOS for me. Everyone had a decent chance to win Dice with cash only, and someone made it, someone didn't.Can't find a reason for a ticket.

For the most part, I agree. Other than the fact that my roommate plays half as much as I do, and opens half as many event crates as I do, and he's gotten 10/10 two events in a row, and I've been stuck at 9 on both of them.

This simply isn't right. Not a matter of fair and unfair, it's a matter of right and wrong, and this is completely wrong.

There is no way to justify a lower level, less active player getting rewarded more handsomely.

It doesn't seem like a hard fix really. Just have a low percentage to get to #10, but each consecutive crate you open raises that percentage a slight bit. By the time you open 45 (myself), or especially 80 (polarbear), there should be no way that you don't get the chest. If you have money to spend, but no time to play, you can reset / crowbar them. If you have no money to spend, but time to play, you can be rewarded eventually as well. I see nothing wrong with this method; it's not rocket science either.

On a side note, the whole "2%" getting from 9-10 HAS to be garbage. If that's the case, someone please explain to me how a player got to 20 pendants? I'm not working out the math, but that's damn near impossible. For someone even to be able to get to 20 while others can't get to 10, something's wrong. Very wrong.

I'm level 107. I got 8 pendants the first day, then three days of nothing and got the 9th yesterday. I spent about 400 gold getting the 10th pendant today with a couple of hours left.

This is something I refuse to do, since tapjoy doesn't* work for android, and I have saved up my 520 gold for 2x GCs and 2x PTs when at that level. It literally took a couple months of offers (and countless support tickets) to be where I am now, and I'm not about to waste it to maybe get the item I'd like. No thanks. I'll build my useful now / pointless later income instead.

I got the 10th one after using gold every hour opening approx 14 safes in the last 18 hours of the event and it opeed with 5 hours left in the event.

Im level 143 and have the loaded dice.

My bigest issue was finding the safes until I got the tip on the old test location.

Now I feel that they should have an event for us droid users that has a lot of really good items and is easy to obtain the winning top prize to make up for the disavantage of not being IOS.

Also not to hijack but what does anyone think about asking for 2 servers ?
