Well I decided to finally do a case study on the rates on which lock boxes drop. So I made a program simulate drop rates which is ran using the follow rates:


energy - drop rate

1 - 25 = .02
26 - 50 = .04
51 - 75 = .1
76 - 100 = .14
101 - 125 = .18
126 - 150 = .22
151 - 175 = .26
176 - 200 = .3
201 - 225 = .34
226 - 250 = .38
251 - 275 = .42
276 - 300 = .46
301 - 350 = .52
351 - 400 = .6
401 - 450 = .68
451 - 500 = .72
501 - 694 = .8

I did 2 trials, I did a first one with 1000 energy, and a second one with 5000 energy when I realized that 1000 was not a sufficient number to provide accurate results.

You can download both of these results as attachments in one zip file.

You may be wondering what is meant by the fixed averages. These are averages that removed the highest and lowest values from the average...the outliers if you will. Removing these values will give the data more accuracy and less skewness.

The dark-blue and bold text are the drop rates that beat the average.

I TRIED to make a chart but it just crashed 4 times and gave up.

Here are the top 3 drop rate spots that I calculated:

1000 energy -

41 Energy jobs - Average 2.875 drops/1000 energy (8.48 taps per drop)
35 Energy jobs - Averaging 2.75 drops/1000 energy (10.39 taps per drop)
10/11/27 Energy jobs - Averaging 2.25 drops/1000 energy (44.4/40.4/16.46 taps per drop)

5000 energy -

10 Energy jobs - Average 11.875 drops/5000 energy (42.1 taps per drop)
26/53 Energy jobs - Averaging 11.5 drops/5000 energy (16.72/8.2 taps per drop)
30 Energy jobs - Averaging 10.875 drops/5000 energy (15.33 taps per drop)

All the drop rate spots are hypothetical. These are just theoretical numbers applied in a random environment to see the best rates that could happen. Random is random...anything can happen.
