I'm going to have to include this dark day in my animated sig one way or the other... I snagged a couple more crates through PvE thanks to a level up. Now I'm going to wait until the last minute and open the remaining 6.

One a brighter note, I was flying through my rivals list attacking without paying attention and noticed 250BPs for one win. A level 200 colonel showed up on my rivals list down at 105. Wow -- this is a different ball game up here at levels 101+.

LOL. When adding it to your sig what will it be? A double face palm? Toilet stacked with gold bars? There really needs to be a buy it now button where you can buy it now for 5k gold or a max gold limit where you receive all the 10 item event units after spending a threshold amount of gold. Of course they can't even track all of the gold purchases, only vaults, so this may be asking too much of them to track how much gold we spend ingame on events. Would be nice to know there is amx you have to spend before you are gauranteed to win

Yeah, but once the event is over I might recommend a short camping trip to test the difficulty of the boss events. If it is just ridiculous then have fun with the spree. If you can still manage to take him down with what you feel is a reasonable amount of gold then continue camping. They will do nothing but get harder! Just got #9 with 3 resets(got it in 1st reset) only with the total of 90 gold...i think thats enough for me with 8 mins to go...

I got to 9 on my LLP. I think I used up 1,600 gold without getting 10. Not much of a surprise though. Not really that disappointed either, as the boost doesn't work anyways. I was just thinking that if it ever worked in the future, it would help with bosses and be a worthy investment. Wishful thinking though...

I know thatthere was an event where i got 9 loot the first day and 6 days later NEVER got the 10th. On the other hand, I won a couple events 1 only using free option and 1 using cash option. I must say it is a total crap shoot!

In spite of all this, i prefer this event vs the leaderboard event which i don't even attempt to play.

Totally Agree with you VBALL! I remember one event getting to 9 on second day or so and nothing the rest of the time, but I also remember one event where with 3 days remaining I got 8, 9, and 10 on consecutive days! I have 6 or 7 of these units from the 10 item crate events, and I only used gold on 2 of them. I played all the auction events and never received more than 2 units. I know there are people out there that have played all the crate events from the beginning and still have not won but there is a large enough sample size to show that it is more than possible if you get lucky.

Please keep the crate events and get rid of the auctions Gree!

Yea it almost seems like they keep track of us and give it to the heavy spender..I got the heavy carrier wit cash open and then they come out wit the dragon viper a few events later and I end up spending $250 and barely got the 9th item..never got the 10th, was so piss that I was gonna break the iPad..lol..well congrats to everyone who got it and who tried..I guess this kind of event gets people buying gold again...which we all shouldn't with the way gree is

What do you all think about Gree setting a cap on gold before you automatically get the unit? In other words, if you spend X amount of gold and have not received the 10th item prize it will automatically be placed in your inventory.

Alternatively, there could be a buy-it now type button where at the beginning of the event, say the first 4 hours you can purchase the entire set of event units for X gold bars. you can risk having to pay more or not get the units by forgoing this option and may get to 10 for less, say 700 gold bars like flash did, or may spend a lot more and not get it...

I think 3-4 vaults ought to be the max you should have to spend as the stats are similar to LEs and what you are really paying for should be the bonus that the unit provides. For example, the 292/226 stats on the Guerilla striker are not too much higher than the most expensive LE right now, the Annihilator Missle Platform 277/119, which can be purchased for 775 gold. Also if you purchase all of the LEs in the set you could win a unit with anywhere from 108/249, 250/230, or 745/319. To purchase the entire set you would need to spend 1365 gold. So you can eaily purchase better units by purchasing LE sets and most likely spend less gold than in a crate event or auction event.

I've thought about that before too albeezy. Like if the game kept track of how much gold you spent on opens/resets throughout the event. And once it reached say 4,000 gold spent for example, the chance of finding a part in a box is now 100%.

Good idea...still gives us the option of using free or cash. What's even better for those who might choose to purchase the units...they would not get xp so they would not level up!

I ended up with 7 items. Not bad considering I didn't even plan to do the event. Opened very occasionally, only picked up 3 or 4 crap units and 500 valor to go with the items. Mixed cash and free opens, probably 50/50. What got me playing is an unwise gold player, maybe he was hitting up for boxes, but he always left cash out and lost as much as he won. Have pulled at least $10 mil from him in the last few days. Made it hard to keep boxes, but I found I could always get one from the insurgent gunman with a few hits.

Looking forward to the next boss. Hope they keep this format for box events, but not holding my breath.

ETA: I can't believe people are suggesting selling the boosts. That's what the damn auction events do! The 10 box events are the one area where there is a level playing field between gold and non/light-gold. I like the idea that some get them free while others spend thousands and don't*. This is the main reason I hate the auction events, they are basically selling off the boosts, because no one can get them otherwise. What a terrible idea.
* - that said I am not a big gambling fan...I wish there were more skill involved rather than just gambling. But I'll take that over an auction any day.

Ryan is right, the gold purchase bonus program act like that. In the perspective of Gree it would be more economical for them to do it like this since technically the earning potential is unlimited. If they make it where you have a buy-in option lets say for 4,000 gold then their earning potential is capped at 4K only.

It is not that I don't like your idea - as a matter I love it! But I think it would be highly unlikely that it would happen

Corsair also has good point - if this becomes available for sale then major gold players can have such an advantage even at very low levels. Would defeat the purpose of planning and strategy.

Wasn't suggesting selling the boosts. I was just trying to points out that the stats on the 10th item unit are not so great as to make someone want to pay 4 times the cost of the most expensive LE. It was more a suggestion to cap the amount you would have to spend and once the cap is met you get the unit. Everyone else can still do the free/cash option as normal, just maybe situations like SP's would at least result in him having the boosted unit. It wont happen or if it does the cap would be way too high, but just thought I would throw it out there and see what the reaction was.

I'm grateful for this event, but I wish it would have run the normal amount of time. I miss the torture and torment of the longer event.

Edit - Opened, and failed. One of the swag units. On the positive side, I didn't level and the three units I did get all make it into battle for me. Good times.

I think 10 part event is boring because only yourself playing to get the 10 rare unit compare to the auction event is you compete against the world...

I love these old collect 10 crate events, but I am very disappointed that they advertise the event as a 1 week event but only give us 4 days. I know they usually short change our time by a day or so, but 4 days is by far the shortest time for one of these events. For a completely free player like me, every extra day to try for opens is very valuable, especially since I'm out during the weekends and cannot collect as regularly as I want. Usually I make up for that by collecting more during the weekdays that the event takes place.

Nonetheless, here is an account of my attempts, which yielded the least number of 'tokens' of all of these events (only 7) and also with the lowest open rate (all cash option opens only). Overall I only managed to open 16 cases on 51 attempts, a dismal 31% open rate.
