Yeah I see the same thing. I click the tap to earn free gems thing and there isn't a menu or anything, it just asks if I want to watch a video for 1 free gem. I just kept clicking it during monday night football and it said I reached my limit after earning 19 free gems.

I did receive my gems in the end, looks like some kind of lag when receiving them. When I opened KA later the gems were there. I think the max is 20 a day from what I recall.

It works on my iPad but the so called offers are rubbish. Except for the tapjoy registration link and a survey link (which doesn't work properly), all the rest require you to buy things to get gems. If I wanted that, I'd buy gems directly. All in all, really disappointing, at least based on what I see in Asia.

Okay, I found there are two different AD providers for KA.

http://www.tapjoy.com/ and http://www.adcolony.com/

the tapjoy can provide the registry and survey style promotion.
the adcolony can provide video style promotion.

Which ads promotion you can get is decided by KA server.

I think GREE is doing some A/B test. They want to test those two or more advisement providers, who can get them more revenue. We are just test mice.

I registered for the tapjoy thingy and got 5 gems. Seems like you also get 1 more gem per day as a sixth gem came in just after the stroke of midnight (boing). As BadNews said, no videos to watch for Tapjoy ... and since the survey doesn't work and everything else requires purchases, this route is effectively over for me.

The iPhone game also has had stats shifting so that I have to completely rethink my strategy every month or two and make the previous month or two's work somewhat wasted effort. It's amazing how quickly GREE managed to pop in a spurious 24 hour gem sale when people started using tap joy to get gems, a fairly minor bug that slightly benefitted a few people for a few hours, but of course one that could cost them money.

However, the major bugs that are currently in operation affecting everyone, even perhaps the mystical GREE KA accounts they only notice in "the morning" when "they come into the office".

I personally am not completely convinced by this.

You have to wait the video download in background. Just keep playing you game about 5 mins. It's depend on your network speed, maybe 1 mins, maybe 10 mins.
After the ads video download, you can restart the game. The button should work, hehe.

Kingdom Age still seems to be in beta testing even 6 months after its release. Some people have boosted stats, some don't. Some people get discounts on upgrades. Some get cheaper units. Some people get Tapjoy. Some don't. Some get sales on gems. Some don't. The playing field seems to split people a bunch of different ways and it feels GREE is just playing games with us to see which way makes the most money for them.

For me it is 24 hrs after the previous gems were awarded. That being said, it appears to be disabled at present.

Yeah. I'm with you on that. I think we are all just guinea pigs for Gree. Lets let this group have this and that group have that and see which one spends more money. Lucky you Tim. I suspect that it depends on the sponsors. So, bigger countries will generally have an advantage since there will be a bigger pool of potential sponsors who are willing to put up ads with a free gem enticement to view.

It creates a hugely unflattering situation for GREE to have a section of players talk about and show proof of an option which is not universally available within the game. Specifically a game option which is mentioned in the patch details. It is poor support to leave everyone hanging without explanation. They should be using the forum to give us all a clue about whether this is beta testing/sample size testing (if that's what it is). It is poor game design policy to leave players thinking this is possibly a botched patch, a failed implementation of code. It is even worse to create a situation where GREE is purposely choosing favorite players to give an unfair advantage.

I would see the idea of earning some gems to be a huge boost for GREE to get us free players to start using gems. Potentially, once players start accumulating some gems for free, an impatient player might pay for "those last few gems I need" to buy a unit/upgrade/boss fight win. Just hugely confusing as to what GREE is doing here - or like I hinted, whether GREE is even in control of the limited release of this option.

Hi Waymar. Welcome to the forum.

This is a technical matter. I, too, have a 3GS and do not have the option for earning free gems. But report it within the game to try to get some help from support. I haven't reported it, because frankly I don't think I'm going to use it. But nonetheless, should it be that important to you, the best thing is to go directly to support using the in-game option.

More seriously, the tapjoy and similar issues are really part of the business model. Tapjoy is just the middleman. There are advertisers and there are client providers, like GREE. So Tapjoy tells the advertisers that you can access a bunch of people, like on KA, by putting up an advert with Tapjoy which is linked to KA. Offering gems to the KA players is a way to entice them to read or buy. GREE earns a fee, Tapjoy earns a fee and the advertisers get their products out to a larger audience. The problem for some of us lies in that in smaller countries, there is less likelihood of advertisers giving away free gems simply for creating product/service awareness (ie, no purchases). This is because such a model is more expensive for them since they have to pay something to GREE for the loss of potential direct gem purchases. But its all out of GREE's hands as to what an advertiser wants to offer. Guess we just have to look at it as being good fortune for some other players.

How do u sign up for the ad promotion thing, cuz I have tried every thing to get free gems for monster quest but still nothing. No green button, the refresh does not work. The thing is on tapjoy but still no gems from there, so how do u get it. SOME ONE HELP ME PLZ!!!!!

If I download Monster Quest in Tapjoy, I can earn 24 gold in Modern War. I prefer gems in KA, but not an option. Im still not sure about the bonus cross promo unit that some got but still many did not. I still not see the splash screen for Monster Quest too, neither MW or KA. The inconsistency of these promos really disappointing.

I'm having an issue w/ the gems now. If I click on the earn free gems button it has a popup that asks me if I want to watch a video for 1 gem. I watched 6 videos or so initially then when one ran a 2nd time got out. I received 1 gem. I went in and watched again and didn't get any. I don't even get to the tapjoy screen to see options now.

The gems are hit and miss for me. Sometimes I can watch 7+ videos and get gems, other times I tap the earn gems button and it doesn't do anything.

I'm guessing that it has more to do with them not having enough paying customers with ads for us to view than it does with there being some kind of problem with this feature 'not working'.

My gems showed up. It looks like you have to leave the game and reload once or twice for them to show up (at least for me)

@ryano - sometimes they show up right away and other times it takes a while but they will show. You don't have to reload the game.

It won't let me watch the 19/20 videos straight no more. It limits me to 5/6. When you hit the add gems button it won't do anything. It takes a while before you can watch another 5/6. FYI

I can't complain, up to 186 gems now but the other accounts aren't so lucky. :(

i too do not see KA in Tap-joy, but i get 2 Gems a day just by clicking on "come back to Tap-joy" in KA, that is weird, how come Tap-joy is noticeable from KA but Tap joy itself do not have a link to that Game...
anyone else have that same issue? (i am on IOS 4.3) and i do not have any videos so i am kind of stuck with accumulating Gems :(

I'm not sure that the video views for gems are facilitated through Tapjoy. It's pretty clear (although small) in every window that the ads are through V4VC (which a quick google search revealed is AdColony.com).

I'm also only getting 8 or so gems at a time now, as opposed to the 20 per day that I was getting, but it's still better than nothing. I hope that the free gems continue until I can get at least one gold mine.

Just keep trying, folks. If you tap it and it does nothing, close the app, re-open it ad try again. If it *still* does nothing, try again 12-18 hours later. I have KA on 3 devices and have the 'earn gems' button on all of them. When it doesn't work on one of them, it also doesn't work on the other two. As I mentioned earlier, this leads me to believe that this is more an issue of the ad service having enough paying customers for the videos than it is a malfunction of the 'earn free gems' button.

If anyone w/Gree is listening, I personally love the idea of getting a gem just for watching a video compared to the Tapjoy options that may include signing up for or downloading something. Having said that, You may want to ask AdColony if they can give even more gems for downloading the app that's being advertised. I haven't downloaded any of them, so I can't verify that this isn't already in place, but if it isn't, it should be.

You do NOT need the button in game. The Tapjoy website came up for KA two days ago for me and five of my friends. That's a low data set, but you should at least investigate it for yourself. It probably won't show up in KA until they can do a server side update, ie major content update.

Anyone one know how often tapjoy refreshes? ie. If I am looking for freebee's vids/spam emails/surveys etc. Do they bring new one's every day, every couple of days, every few hours? basically I got 5 free gems today, is that it, or can this be done again and how often?
