Yeah that was definitely a penalty. We've had an easy start, our run of games now is gonna be tough but we have some points on board which will help. And Sam has bought well. Jarvis, Maiga, Diame with yossi and caroll on loan for what Southampton paid for Rodriguez shows big Sams experiance and knowledge of the transfer market. His done well for us. You boys need a new manager though.

Followed shortly thereafter by Chase Blackburn forcing a fumble :)

Man... The Vikings stink out loud, don't they?
Every team that I thought was going to be a powerhouse this season dropped the ball hard.
Packers, Patriots, Saints...what are you guys doing!? Anyway, my G-men are the only team I expected to be great, and they lived up to that bill :D

Giants have been far from great. Packers are missing about six pro bowlers to injuries, and should really be 5-2 (the Fail Mary game).

Golden Tate didn't even come close to having possession...and on top of that massive Pass Interference that was missed. Referee didn't even apologize, he just said he's correct. What an arrogant official.

Arsenal! Ozil!
Good bit of business there. He'll make Giroud look like Van Persie in no time.

Good player, better than bale. Technically ozil is far superior. I give it 3 years mad before Bale is back in the premier league with his tail between his legs.
Sadly Spurs will finish above arsenal this season...
And this was in off topic, not quite sure who moved it to general. I can only assume its because its what inspired them pigskins....

Oi this is the football thread, none of that American stuff. Good English premier league football. Stop de railing my thread
the English premier league stopped being English a long time ago! I still remember the days when the entire first 11 of top teams were from the british isles. was it Chelsea which first fielded an entire lineup without any brits?
Ragmondino
09-03-2013, 11:02 PM
'twas Chelsea yes. And I think, but maybe wrong was middlesboro under mclaren who was the last to field an English 11..

Interesting Facts for £ spent since Prem league began:
Chelsea, £673 million — 12 trophies — 3 Premier League titles (2o05, 2006, 2010), 1 Champions League (2012), 4 FA Cups (2007, 2009, 2010, 2012), 2 League Cups (2005, 2007) and 2 Community Shields (2005, 2009).
Manchester City, £572 million — 3 trophies — 1 Premier League title (2012), 1 FA Cup (2011) and 1 Community Shield (2012).
Liverpool, £414 million — 6 trophies — 1 Champions League (2005), 1 UEFA Super Cup (2005), 1 FA Cup (2006), 2 League Cups (2003, 2012) and 1 Community Shield (2006).
Manchester United, £352 million — 16 trophies — 5 Premier League titles (2003, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011), 1 Champions League (2008), 1 FA Cup (2004), 3 League Cups (2006, 2009, 2010), 5 Community Shields (2003, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011) and 1 FIFA Club World Cup (2008).
Tottenham Hotspur, £350 million — 1 trophy — 1 League Cup (2008).
Looking at those figures... I dont think you could ever say United have "bought" titles.

Exactly, no way United have bought their titles, spent far less than other teams. When we have spent then we've generally got our money's worth.

True, but Fergie was an exceptional manager. He broke the Celtic-Rangers duopoly when he was at Aberdeen, which to my mind is far more impressive. It's a new era for Man U now.
Anyway, go Liverpool!

I like Sister M even more now, Liverpool fanatic here. Brendan Rodgers is slowly getting us back where we belong. Minimum Top 4 finish in our sights this season, especially if Suarez comes back with his head straight
