View Full Version : Fly below the radar tactic - does it work?

I am level 125, Ally count:499, A57886/D74444.

I have been constantly hit by a Russian player lately. He is level 175, has stats around A155K/D124K.

I am thinking of going down to ally count of 300-200. Would I be able to stay out of his range? What other potential risk and what level of rival would I expect?

@tcapi: Have you been hit by Arku?

If you go down to 200-300 allies, you can still be seen by him but it will be much more rare.

Yup. Its a pain in the you-know-what.

Do I have to go further like below 250? Where I am, I can see level 100+ with ally count of 282.

I can see all the way till 202 allies (rarely) and all the way down 14 levels my character level.
As for those level 150 and above, there ain't enough players to populate their rivals list so I think they can see all the way down to us and beyond too.

Going further down below 250 allies to avoid him seems a lot of work, I will work with 400 to see how it goes?

400 Allies wont work , go down till 300 like I did

@Winstrol, what was your level and ally count when you did the evasive maneuver? And your aggressor?

Winstrol

Level 128 , 310 ally , 95k attack

I'm Still ALL the way down, camping at level 35 till some jerk stalked me, I leveled up and he followed me, I tricked him to level up by saying I was level 40, he only went to level 37....he STILL found me. The game developers are doing this on purpose so you get mad and blow heaps on their games

For once can't they just offer good customer service and stop thinking about there profit margins, this stalking method where they can find u easily or they drop Allies enough to seek u out then stalk u more and leave insulting messages really pisses me off

@Winstrol, did you see a different group of rivals after you dropped cvlose to 200 allies?

Yeah , I barely get attacked by people with ~500 allies , but you need to increase your attack :P

Why are you dropping down? What are good enough stats to stay up with the whales

@ level 125 there are around 30 players with majority or straight dragons and/or large numbers of top 50 units (with associated retinues). Also 1 or 2 of them do float around the 300 ally mark for whatever reason (picking off people trying for BD10 and raiding that is less likely to kill dragons probably featuring highly).

I'm at near-max allies for my lvl (450 at lvl 90) and if I refresh the rival list enough times... I see rivals with under 200 allies. Just FYI for those of you thinking about "flying under the radar" at this level.

By the way... I totally encourage you to do this... I would love to steal your unvaulted cash! ;)

My attack well enough to survive whale territory?
My stats are 115k/98k
These aren't "new stats"

My recommendation is doing the opposite. Go up to 500 mafia.

Thank you all for your input and pointers, appreciate it, especially BEA.

Next steps
1A) Try to befriend the guy(s)
1B) Boost up my defence and attack using boost buildings
1C) wait for the sit-rep from allies on what they see and what they can not see

2) may go down to 400 ally initially to check the waters if the above point otherwise, and my stats.

3) May go further down to 300 minus if the above is working but not effective enough.

@W Eagle
Hell no! you are still my ally. Else I would have visited your vault NOW! You know what I mean.....

A sit-rep from an ally, level 161, alliance 500.
See way down to level 111, 3%>150level, 115level<90%<level 127, rest under level 115 and level 130-150.
Most with 500allies, if he has half stamina he could see 200-400allies, even cracker with 1-10 allies.

Good lad, thank you.

All of this just encourages early camping, if you ask me ....

When Im playing Tournament rounds, I usually hunt the minimum ally count I need for my TR level. Minimum ally count, less defense, less attack incase he or she retaliates. I go full ally strength any day. My 2cents.

I stopped doing the TR quests a long time ago. Guess I just didn't like the idea of having to attack people for no better reason than to complete some computer generated requirement. If I were to restart doing TRs, I would only target those who have ridiculously low stats for their level (eg, 5000 A/D at level 60) and who were clearly not going to lose masses of gold. Why? Simply because attacking them costs them little or nothing, and they've clearly not putting much effort into the game, even as a free player. I would avoid hitting people who were clearly aiming for some obvious goal (like camping for Wizard Spire or BD10 or whatever) if I was just trying to clear TR rounds. Again, simply because they are making an effort and I don't like being a bully. Just my 2 cents' worth.

I think it encourages completion of Den upgrade as early in the game as possible.

Could he be finding you, say from the revenge button or? I have noticed my news sticks around a while, and have looked at people that attacked me up to 2 months ago. Also if that case the amount of allies you have doesn't matter you could have 0 and he will always find easily.

tcapi

I don't think so, I have NOT attacked him at all, I am aware that such act will leave trace for him to get to me. He can not trace me from the messages on the wall. I must have been visible on his rival list.

Incredible these games got so popular if you know now how ridiculous THE game is working after playing months...

Anyway drop to lvl200 and that should help i think.

lvl: 79 - 82
allies: 216 - 384

I'm getting hit daily by people at the same level but twice the attack/defense stats that I have. With 100 more allies (and probably spending a bit of gems) there's really no contest.

If I drop down to 200 allies, I'm not sure if this will stop. To me it seems like the attack list is clumsy, and could use some love by the developers.

So what's the dealio, do I add or drop allies now?

Talkazar
09-26-2012, 05:08 AM
If they have twice the A/D but only 100 more allies they are also using better units(or have better equipment). So dropping to 200 probably won't help.

Theory behind fly below the radar is to find yourself in a space where there are very few people who are stronger than you even allowing for double the allies (and then ally most of them), not least because low ally pvp is probably more common than high ally pvp. If there are a lot of stronger people around you anyway, you need to be stronger yourself.

Yeah that's what I'm figuring. Seems like around 200-300 allies (and in the 70 - 80 level) range, the gem players really separate themselves from the free players. I think up until then you have a smaller curve, but as you add more toys and units, that curve goes up.

You should go for max allies. At Level 80: 400, or just below that number 385 - 399.
Why? First, there are the most players, so you can hide in the crowd.
Second, people look in their rivals list for easy prey and pick the players with much less allies than themselves. Seen From 400 that will be 272 allies, like you.
So, start with adding me :-)
