Has anyone come up with the best way to position your buildings for the least amount of wasted space?

I like to think I'm pretty efficient with my space. I did buy an expansion for the sole purpose of spelling out "mxz" in mailboxes, though. That was kind of a waste.

My OCD kills me with this ALL the time... I have 2 rows completely puzzled together thank god...

You just got to tinker with it... it's a pain in the ars though...

Especially when you got buildings that are JUST slightly smaller then the rest - or larger for that matter...

kinda depends on how you want to organize your buildings, and what buildings you have. Mine are all organized in terms of collection times, but I also sold off most of the low-profit buildings.

There is a player here (can't remember who) who has every cash building available and a few gold buildings.

He posted a picture a while back - you could try digging it up?

I looked at his hood when he posted it, but it had lots of empty space. Oh well, I'm getting to the point where I can afford a land upgrade without saving for it more than a couple days.

I guess the real question is then - do you REALLY need the extra space? I'm don't know much about you...

The only thing I can tell you that may help is to play a LOT of tetris!
And ofcourse I post this before reading the tetris discussion on page 2. But as a kid I had the original Nintendo and when I wanted a new game my dad would tell me to beat the one I have then I will get a new one. When he got tired of buying me new games he bought me tetris -.- I now know that the game goes on to infinity.

Almost, I'll get to that stage soon, but I have 2 of every building that matters and 1 of every building except for Techno club, Mansion, Cowboy Casino and Magic Playhouse (that building is just too big and ugly to go in my hood)

I had to do some shufferling round to fit in two office buildings, I have 1 square spare. My choice now is to expand or sell my three hour buildings to start building my 50 missile def builds. I won't sell me 1 hours as they cover he cost of opening the event boxes.
