View Full Version : TRANSFERING FROM OLD iOS DEVICE --> NEW iOS DEVICES (esp. iPhone5)

In preparation for all of you getting a new iPhone5, iPad, iPod, etc.....please do the following:

1. Write down or record your Alliance Code in a safe place (piece of paper, email it to yourself, device screenshot to your iCloud acct)

2. Once you get your brand spankin' new iPhone5 (or other device), use in the in-game Support Request button and ask to transfer your game (include the Alliance Code from Step #1)

3. Wait for awesome & handsome/beautiful support specialist to reply back saying your game has been transfered!


Keep in mind you cannot transfer between iOS and Android, this is specifically for iOS devices!

Yeah it'd be a lot easier to create a Funzio ID than to go through support ... hopefully they aren't removing that feature.

Hi er, if you can answer gazlegend's question please that would be good as I transfer between my iPod and iPad regularly as well with my Funzio id. Can we still do this?

Better instructions:

Before handing in your old phone do the following.
1) Open MW Game
2) Tap Menu icon
3) Tap MORE...
4) Tap FUNZIO ID
5) Tag TRANSFER GAME
6) Sign in with your Funzio ID or create a new one

After you get your new phone:
1) Open MW Game
2) Complete tutorial

4) Tap NEW DEVICE

No waiting for the "handsome/beautiful support specialist" to write you back in 4 days.

Honestly, it's easier to do it yourself through what Miner said. Besides, L Fizzle is gone so there is no more beautiful staff. :)

I have sold my Ipad 2 so I can afford to buy a iphone 5, but can't give the ipad 2 to the seller until I have rescued my crime city account, I created my account ages ago now. anyway I'm selling my Ipad and want to carry on playing but on my iphone instead and need to transfer them asap as I've had to withhold my ipad for the time being as I've spent so much time on this game and do enjoy it :)

Do you know how I could change it?

my old iphone 4s was stolen now i got the android. i really enjoy playing this game i was lvl 17 but very powerful, very strong and wit a huge base that i build spending over 5 months i dont wanna start it all over again.. please help me if there is any possible way that i can transfer my 4s profile into the android please let me know. thanks

That's still available; the method I supplied can be used as a backup. The key takeaway here is to always have your Alliance ID squirreled away somewhere.

Hi all. I recently switch from stock back to a CyanogenMod Version 9.1 on a AT&T Samsung Captivate SGH-i897, Android Version is 4.0.4 Before I did anything I made several back ups just to make sure I could continue where I left off. Titanium, Dropbox, and the ole 'copy and paste' from usb connected device to Windows 7 64bit. Keep in mind I've done this once before and it worked fine. I simply re installed from Google Play and it picked right up. This time though I wiped everything on my phone and sd card so I could have a clean install, banking on my backups. Titanium shows no record of a backup at all. Dropbox has my photos and looks like some encrypted files? I'm using the Windows backed up fold names (jp.gree.modernwar). I've placed the folder on both the internal SD and external SD but It's not picking it up this time. After the last updatefrom Google Play there was a slight issue where we had to uninstall and re install the game to continue where we left off, which did work btw. So I tried that several times. No luck. And I have already gone through the tutorial twice and tried to transfer many times. So, I have my backed up folder jp.gree.moderwar size is 191Mb. It's there but :confused: Any support or tips on this will be greatly appreciated. :)

PS: Crime City did this to me at lv20 something a long time ago, I didn't start over. Help me out GREE/FUNZIO!

Your help is necessary to me.
The matter is that I loaded this game of an account, not that that I use now. The problem consists in that that I can't use comments to the Modern War appendix, and be engaged in purchases from an operating account (paid). Whether it is possible to transfer game, without having lost progress in game and those "riches" that I have, on a new account???
Please help. Excuse for so curve English, used the translator.

I transferred the game from the old device but I get the error message in the load screen on the iPhone 5, so I can't get far enough to try to transfer it to the 5. I emailed them yesterday. Waiting for a response. I've tried uninstalling it and downloading it again but same thing happens. This is the only app that hasn't worked since upgrading.

Wierd try sending CCM a message. If not you will have to wait for reply. Check make sure MW doesn't need updating. It first installed an old version on mine.

UPDATE: My Modern War on iPhone 5 has been fixed by the support team. If you're having a similar problem, email them at support@funzio.com. They wanted to know my invite code, character name, level, and UDID for both devices, and they were able to transfer it for me. :D

So I have been using this IPad since & playing MW since December - but I've always installed games under my daughter's Apple ID - which she now has an I-Phone and wants me to eat my own Apple ID.


So - If I create a new Apple ID - can I transfer my game to the same device but under my new ID?

I understand that MW is unique to a specific device - but can a game be transferred to a new ID?

If I had an extra device I'd take that account in a heartbeat. Would be able to coast through boss events w/ it only being in the 2nd tier.

Hi, so i also got a new iPhone 5 and I'm unable to transfer my account.

I couldn't even start with a new account, as all I'm getting is the "Please restart ghe game" screen.

I emailed support two weeks ago. I provided all required information. Never heard back from them.

Guess I won't be able to ever play the game?

Am I misunderstanding this? It sounds like you are saying you can steal anyone's account if you know their Alliance code.

Thought this would be a useful "necro"...CC and KA both still have this pinned, which is a good thing as it is a constant question. This was too much of a pain not to have others benefit from my experience. :D Maybe this could be added to the FAQ?

Having just gone through this, thought I would post some tips for some issues I encountered.

1. The easiest way to go from old device to new device, assuming you have both and they are working, is to backup the old one and restore the backup to the new one. In this scenario, do NOT use an encrypted backup. For both KA and MW, this will result in the restored game being inaccessible (the "Please restart the game" message). Use a non-encrypted backup and you will get a clean install of the games into which you can manually transfer your account.

2. If you do not remember your password for your account, just delete and re-download the app to clear the fields, then create a new account. You can use your forum account for this, but if you ever had a name change you will need to use the original name.

3. I saw a few people mention the "No old account associated with your Funzio ID, please set an old device" error. That means you didn't initiate the transfer properly, or possibly something got screwed up along the way. If at all possible, try to get the transfer completed before you give up the old device. I did the transfer, or thought I did, then deleted the app from the source device, then got this error when I tried to restore my CC account, and I have a bad feeling that it was nuked. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Tried to transfer the game from my iPhone to my iPad but I don't know what I did and the game is lost. I hope 9 months of playing haven't give down the drain. I have contacted Gree with my ID but haven't heard back yet. U think they can fix the issue? I am so pissed off that I can't help my faction...

Silly - no, per CJ it's an Apple TOS violation, Gree couldn't allow it if they wanted to (and there's no reason for them to not want to).

One of my faction members has two profiles, one on Android, and one on a iOS device. She wants to change the profiles between the two devices (one time change).

What are the steps to take, without loosing game data... or, worse yet, profiles?

Send an email to support and provide them with the name of both accounts and the invite code of both accounts. Indicate which account name and invite code is the old device and indicate the new device’s account name and invite code. Be sure to tell them which profile you want transferred to your new device.
