What to do with all this gold?

I'm in the relatively early stages of the game. I've built every building I can. Now I'm upgrading. My IPH is rising but much faster than I can increase my vault. For my level and number of allies I've bought the most powerful units and weapons I can. But knowing at the later stages I can get better weapons from the maps I figure it doesn't make too much sense to buy any more heavy battleaxes. Same for units, I don't know if I need to bother stockpiling more flaming catapults, when there will be much better units. I certainly don't need any more land.

So what do I do with this extra cash? It stockpiles in between upgrades and I'm paranoid someone will come along and take it from me. Any ideas in how I should spend it?

I had that problem as well early on in the game and I invested heavily into defensive units so that I was free to go over the vault limit with very little risk

I don't think you can have too many heavy battleaxes. At level 50 max allies you can bring ~750 units into battle and each one gets a weapon...right now the majority of my army is using a 2/0 adventurer sword. My A/D is respectable at 23K/15K, but I would love an extra 3-400 battleaxes. Same comment for flaming cats - yes dragons and such are better later but you've got to have a strong army from point A to point B.

I have to agree with Nj and Ssne.

My successful actions were building out on the high defense units early. Fine, many will "go to waste" later on in the game, but they will allow you to get to that later point with little attacks, if any. Most people in this game don't max out on units that even have 17 defense (such as the zepplins), or even the wyverns (23 attack). If you can, level permitting, max out on High Priests right now -- buy 500 of them. This will keep you until your level 55. then when you're able to get the Breeding Den, you'll have some of the best possible defense you can get and not really have to worry about getting attacked while upgrading your den to max.

On the topic of weapons, the extra axes will help greatly with the boss events as well!

Aslo can buy armor as well,
this will help yr boost on Att and Def.
Att for boss event, Def for ( DB lvl10, major upgrade) and fend off yr rival. :cool::cool:

Your ability to farm up PvE weapons slows dramatically once things start needing 100 or 200 energy to die and at 500 allies you need 1500 of them. I still haven't farmed up 1500 PvE armours total, let alone ones with 25 armor. So yes, high level weapons and armor will probably retain value for a long time.

If you work on getting the maps to Level 5 it is quite easy to get 1500 armour and weapons. Just from PvE'ing, I have 1598 weapons and 1636 armours. Admittedly, the half of them are relatively low, however, every little bit helps!!

You can never have enough gold considering astral bows are 16k each and blizzard staff 19k and that's just for weapons. Level 10 merchant caravans were about 800k or so from what I recall.

I've burned through well over 3 million in the last little while on level 33 account.

Level 17 account has over 3.3 million saved for next epic boss event.

Ideally save your gold for income building upgrades and buying units. Try to save gold usage for end game cash equips when they are unlocked as they are quite expensive.

You will find that considerably more than half are relatively low. A couple of weeks ago I actually spreadsheeted all my weapons and armor, and of the 1695 weapons I had, 209 of them are 21 or above (which is the qualification for the heavy battleaxe being useful). I also worked out that of the 1500 armors being brought to battle, 815 of them were 5 strength (mainly the adept robes I bought). As an aside, I've farmed every map through eagle peak to level 5 (ie skill point level not pretty unit level).

Thanks for the advice. Like many folks, I rushed into the game without knowing what I was doing. Then I started focusing on raising my IPH and completely forgot about that shiny wizard's spire I built. Time to upgrade and get myself some high priests!

Not that I know of, but if its possible, please donate to me! Heck, I'd be happy if someone could just lend me their unit to do 2 simultaneous upgrades!
