Most players, from what I have read on the forums that are only trying for units, not the Top 250/50 awards, usually do not use the timer reset & would rather use gems to open IF they use gems at all. Some say it is better to open with gems than to reset the timer & use the middle, cash option, but idk... it is really a gamble! If you want to be in the Top 250/50, you must use gems and lots of them.

Depending how close I am to the next unit prize (5-10-15-20-25), on the last day I might use a gem timer reset & gems to open... just depends on how lucky I feel, no statistics or science involved in my reasoning.

The worst is spending 20 gems for reset & coins to get a "sorry" when it opens! Haha, it has happened to me. I would rather not use any gems for the box events; the stakes are too high for the small amount of gems I buy, most of the time is is not worth it.

That is based on your level. So your level is 3600/25=144.

@cloudKing. There isn't one. Random is random. Chance to open a box with gold is around 40% so if you use the timer reset you have slightly less chance of opening a box on net than just opening it with gems. Expect to need to use mainly gem opens to get top 250 (although by now lucky free players can win that prize), and both it and lots of resets to get top 50.

Somebody last round published a few stats about opens vs how many items the top 50 players had. But about 30% (at 25+ items) is the number commonly quoted.

The top 50 prize is really a good price with that double upgrade ability, even if it was on a 1/1. But at this point in time in the game, I wouldn't say it's really needed that much for players of similar levels to me..

The wording on the unit is "upgrade 2 buildings at once" it might not stack at all with the previous similar unit. Both say upgrade 2 buildings at once, not "upgrade one extra building" and not "upgrade 2 extra buildings". Why does everybody assume this will stack with the other one?

I'm just guessing here, so I could be wrong, but I think its more likely this will not stack.

It's not going to be 4. My guess would 2. if you read the description of the units it says "upgrade 2 buildings at once", not "double the amount of buildings you upgrade" or "upgrade an additional building". So if you have 2 units that allow you to upgrade 2 buildings at once, you're still only upgrading 2 buildings at once. But I'm sure some outraged gem spender will raise enough hell that gree will make it 3 buildings.

So if you have the Gaurdian and shadow at most it will allow you to upgrade 1 more building for each.

But as I said before unless you have the Gaurdian don't worry about cause it won't matter to you. I don't know how boost like -4 allies bought to battle work, but I do know boost like 20% less casualties or 20% faster upgrades are NOT stacked they are minus the one then minus the next off the lower total.

If you have the Gaurdian and you get the shadow knight and it allows you to upgrade 4 at once I will be shocked but great for you. Know just try and find the gold to keep all those upgrades running

Also had varied success withe the gold option. Even with the gems, i had only received the blades less than 50% of the time. I'd keep getting honor points or cash, neither of which I was hoping for. I learned my lesson though: Don't buy gems for use in these events,unless you're willing to spend several hundred bucks.

I have. I was able to get to 20 in the last event with somewhere around 50-55 opens. I'm having trouble getting to 8 right now. I have noticed that I'm getting more gold and HP than fails though.

KA is a waste. GREE/Funzio doesnt award the premium rewards. during the Eastern Warlord event 2.5 weeks ago, i defeated the warlord forty times earning a random award each time as required before the event ended but there is no 900/800 Warlord in my Profile of units (the advertized premium reward). Yes, i sent in-game messages to Funzio and followed up emails, but they still have not added the 900/800 premium unit from that event to my Profile. my profile of units shows i earned 2 Warrior Spirits, 1 Stoic Champion, 3 Wind Dragon, 2 Panther Sentry, 4 Stoic Guardian, 7 Focused Spirit, 4 Proven Brawler, 11 Jade Fighter and six 100 Needle Launcher units for the forty defeats. but as of yet, no 900/800 Warlord in my profile. :mad:

How many event items are free players normally able to collect? In KA events I've usually been lucky to get anywhere from 8-15 items, but my luck is a bit different than that this time around. I'm just wondering what most free KA players expect going into an event.

I've generally found that getting 3-4 in OT is do-able (barring very good or very bad luck). More than that and you risk running out of time. Make sure you have enough dark boxes ... generally I look at having at least 7 boxes (preferably 10) for each gem/blade/scarab you want to get. If you pvp'ed a lot, I'm guessing the latter is not a problem for you.

Oh well, I don't know what I'm doing with KA since I don't read the forum and other reasons. When the leader board freezes, the event is not over. Ppl can still keep collecting blades for another hour changing up the ranks. You won't know your official spot until you log back in after midnight and see if you get the pop-up box. :/

I was at 32nd when it froze, collected 3 more blades but still dropped to 37th by the time it ended.

I see your point. I've done OT before but i received my prize as soon time was over and I had switch off app and come back. I was concern about changes but I'm happy it didn't happen or that I got mine already.

I did that the last time too. My iPad was overheating (accidentally turned off the magnetic lock which for some reason then kept the screen on at max brightness) after 3 days of being on. Was holding it up to a fan to cool the unit and BINGO, hit the home button. Suppose the consolation is that you were NOT at 19 blades when it happened! That would have sucked.

Real question is if you have a previous "upgrade 2 buildings" does it now let you upgrade 4 at once.

OT is overtime - if you don't close your game after the event timer runs out it lists time over as "soon" You can still open boxes butb can no longer collect boxes or qualify for the top 50 or 250. However, if you get more items you can still get the units for 5/10/15/20/25. The best I have ever done is to go from 9 the to 20 collecting 10/15 and 20 units.

I will usually try it with 2 or 3 left and if things are going well go further. The longest I have stayed in OT is 4 days. Usually I have something else preventing me from doing much with KA other than the occasional box open during that period.

Normally when the event end you can exit/relaunch the game and if you won you get the pop up telling to in what place you finished and what you won. I never had any of that, so I just figured "didn't win" and went to bed.

Apparently I was wrong, I did win but it took several hours to award the prize.

With 27 items I finished in 252 (wtf?) and won Darkwood Ballista 480/705. All gold/no gems. I'm shocked! Lol

Yeah....I've heard of people getting the price even tho they are placed outside of TOP 250. I just don't know how close or far you have to be. (or why that happens)

This is the first time I ever hear or see of a prize going to someone placing outside the prize bracket. I wonder if it's because I had 27 items before 27 became the cutoff?

@Dudeman: Congrats!! First time though I have seen people outside of the top 250 prizes being awarded straight up.
@d_nickels: For previous events, level was used as a tie-breaker for similar number of blades. I believe it was the same for this event, not sure what has changed.

Just now getting to post on here. Was moving when event ended. Thanks for explaining how to do OT. Always wondered how people were lucky enough to have OT. So don't exit the game, but can you let the phone lock as long as you didn't exit, or do you have to keep the phone lit the whole time?
So I finished with 8. Only got 1 over the last 2 days. WTH?

I do OT on ipads. It took two days to get one extra dagger for 15 on one and one day to get one extra dagger for 15 on the other. It does pay off if you can wait.
