It's easy people wait till you get the splash screen before you try to activate boss.

If you haven't seen splash screen it doesn't matter if it's in your goals or not it won't activate.

I think as long as you are at the same level and haven't passed a bracket the boss strength haven't changed on the lower levels. At least for me going from level 34 last boss and 35 this boss - the strength of each boss is about the same. I'm hoping to get to 18 this time around.

Have you noticed occasionally as you are attacking the boss with hits the strength of the hit may go down? For example, hitting boss 10 at 10261 first free hit. 2nd hit was 10260. I thought I might have lost an Imp in the battle with the boss but I checked and my units were still there. I'm trying to figure out why your hit strength may go down while attacking?

@meta, don't level up fast. Build and upgrade your economy. I personally like to upgrade the siege building the most and build out your army early with siege towers and trebuchets. Try to get attack stats near 10k by the time you are mid 20s in level and the boss events will get much easier. Always carry your max allies which is 17 x 5 right now. Others might have better advice!

If you used all your health energy, you only need to wait 1:40.

I use a timer app. One setting is 26 minutes for the next round and the other is 1:40 to totally replenish for the next boss.

Funkeymonkey meant that if you used up all your health, you need to wait 1 hr 40 mins for the health bar to replenish.

The health bar replenishes at 1 hp per minute and you have 100 health points (standard for everyone)

He is right bro! Health is replenished at the rate of 1 health per 1 minute. You have enough health to fight after 25 minutes and if you wait another minute, you get two hits instead of one. It takes 1 hour and 40 minutes for your health bar to fully replenish.

Fantastic! Thanks ssne, I think I was indeed starting to realize that my quest enthusiasm was overrunning my kingdom's little economy. Or, possibly, it was the sound of being beaten about the ears with my empty money coffers that was waking me up. :D

I did get Hayden a couple more times (thanks to allies and timing), both common, but with my pathetically low level unit buildings I rejoice even to gain these - :lol:

Ended on Boss 15 and will likely close the event here as I don't see myself realistically reaching 30 (20, maybe even 25, but not 30 without gems).

The scarred hydra was a saving grace as only 1 rare for 15 bosses is the lowest result I've had to date. Only needed 3 gold attacks in total (might have been able to reduce that down to 2 gold attacks if I had been a little more patient and added more allies ... but just wanted to get the hydra home before the work week started).

Are you using your full 13 hits on him? If you still can't beat him with 13 hits you need to buy some more units and/or weapons to increase your attack stats.

I tried the inbuilt timer, but I like to use Alarmed. It's free and has more settings. I haven't missed a hit since using the app. Before using a timer, I had to start over several times.

1:40 - reset health bar
30 min - collect gold (yes, I use my timer to collect all day long)

with stats of 175/225 (do not have that great of stat, but it looks very cool in my inventory

Cure Potion gives you 50 health back.
Gem attack is equivalent to 4 gold hits.

Most efficient gem use is to use 1 cure potion, then hit once, wait 1-2 mins, then hit 2 more (3 cash hits for 10 gems).

Mega hit gets you 4 hits for 25 gems. Health potions get you 6 hits for 20 gems. On the plus side, mega hit doesn't cost you any gold and is immediate (6 hits in the potion method will take u aprox 5 mins). In my opinion not worth it though.

More than likely one of you is switched to the new boosted stats and one is not.

Some of it would be people with inflated unit stats of their own ((263/338) is 50% more than (175/225) which is what you expect the 'inflated' unit to be)) It could well be all of it.

In which case, everybody is getting the same unit regardless of level (and therefore difficulty).

Yes, when I learned this it really helped. Swing 3 times, wait one minute, swing again, wait 26 minutes, swing twice, wait 26 minutes, swing twice... I'm on Hayden the 9th and had 12 cash hits and barely lost. Will wait until the morning and make sure I get my last one, that should do it.

Yeah, my Hydra, too, has stats of 175/225. I think it is just the stats of the unit depending on your level bracket (which I don't know what the bracket it).

Because I also managed to pull off getting the Cursed Lich, with stats of 950/750, and earlier in this thread is someone above level 90 who has the same unit but higher stats.

Yes. Sadly, but yes. Though I killed boss 23 without gems, so the gems I actually needed only amounted to 200. Which is a great spend if you factor in the three uncommon and one rare unit, plus the Lich in the end.

After buying 80+ Lich's from my lvl 10 Wizard's Spire I finally took down Hayden for the 15th time, I got the Scarred Hydra and the Crazed Succubus. I got the cool unit plus a rare. So far, I got 1 rare, 4 uncommons and 10 commons. My stats at 125 allies have jumped 3000+ att / 2200+ def just this weekend, no added allies.

I started using 25 gem hits, but realized it was a dumb strategy, as it was only saving time. So I did spend more than I should have. Realized that a little too late. My actual spend was near 300 gems. (Had extra iTunes giftcard, so why not?)

But I did the first 5 hits; then health refill, waited 1 minute, 3 more hits. Health refill, waited 1 minute, 3 hits. Repeat until dead. My one hit was taking nearly 52k. My 25 gem hit was nearly 211k. Two 25-gem hits (50 gems) is worth 8 regular hits. However, 5 health refills, if timing is correct, is worth 15 regular hits (3 hits per refill).

So learn from my mathematical mistake and use the refills ONLY.

If I was to fathom a decent guess, it would be 35 - 40 gold-equivalent hits at 51.1k per hit. So roughly 1.788m - 2.044m life. And I'm level 68. I'll have to pay attention next time, so I can help track even #15 if they keep things the same.

I stopped after beating boss #20. I got the Scarred Hydra, 4 rare (2 fire guys, one of each of the others), 2-3 uncommon, and the rest commons. I'm pretty happy with my results.

After only needing 10 gems to beat boss 14 and another 10 to beat 15 I was actually going to push through and go for 30. I stopped at 20 though, it was getting way too expensive. I thought if I only needed to use 10 gems on boss 15 that I'd be able to get to 30 without too much, but I was needing 10 more gems for each additional boss. In the end though, it wasn't the gem cost that was making me stop, it was the gold cost! At boss 20 I had to use somewhere between 25-30 gold hits and each hit cost $4200. Thats between 105k and 126k gold per boss. If my increase in hits continued at the same rate then boss 30 would've taken 60 hits or more and at 6200 gold each hit, that would've cost 372k gold!!! Thats insane! Even if you're willing to spend the gems to finish this event off, you'd also need to have massive gold banked or just buy gold for real $$ to be able to finish it off. And my rough estimations are probably off since I think the increase is closer to an exponential curve instead of a linear one.

Thats my experience at level 145 with 123k/110k A/D. I was able to get further in this event than on past and I think thats due to getting BD10 and upping my attack by about 20k-30k from dragons since the last one. (I forget exactly where I was for the last one though)

As an aside(lvl 118), I got to boss 9, courtesy of buying 400 basilisks and 10 gems (ouch). 3 uncommons and a rare was reasonably lucky for what I could do.

I'll send you an invite, also check the "Add Allies" section of the KA forum. Post your code in a few threads and you should end up with about 10 or so invites over night. Don't just post your code either, add as many as time allows you to from those threads as well.

About the low vs. medium casualty thing, you probably just bring more of the Flaming Catapults to battle as opposed to the units with medium casaulties. Ie: if you bring 200 units to battle with low rating, and 50 units with a medium rating, your just bound to lose more of the low ones because of their quantity.

Yet one of my allies I see at level 102 and 47k attack already beat level 15 days ago. He says he has boosted stats at 65K+. You should have over 200k attack (new unit stats) to kill the 15th boss without pending any gems in your level.

Thanks, yeah the difference between bosses seemed to be getting larger as I got higher up. Seems someone woulud have to be insane to try for 50 to get a 1100/1000 unit when they could get a 950/750 unit for less than half the cost of going to 50. At the rate I was going I don't think a vault would have gotten me there as I would have probably started needing 10 cure potions by boss 32, if not 31. Boss 50 would probably require using only megaatacks...

EDIT:
I just recalculated all the boss health stats and determined whether swapping out my trebuchets for flaming cats would have a big impact. It would add about 3500 attack to my total attack and looks like it would have let me start using cure potions 1-2 bosses later and use 1-2 less cure potions per boss after that. In the numbers posted above, that would probably have saved me 70-100 gems. I'll wait till level 50 and then sit till I have 1500 dragons! The money will be better spent on upgrading my lenders and Manors

Nope. I was just wondering. Insofar as your attack is concerned, versus the other ally you mentioned, there really wouldn't be a way to gauge your progress with the boss versus theirs with boosted versus unboosted stats. I'm level 68 with nearly 56k attack. I can get to boss 23 now without gems. However, that's 13k more attack than you, yet nearly 18 levels below. So the ally must have used gems if they can get significantly further than you, unless of course you're using free hits, not gold hits. Free hits I'd be luck to make it to boss 15 myself. But the amount of gold I spend on the lower bosses is easily worth using just to make sure i kill the boss as fast as possible. The sooner I get the units and end the event, the sooner i can camp until the next event/leveling up my BD.

I have to say I'm quite pleased they made this change. It REALLY offers the chance to win some great units for gold. And then it takes some strategy to get your stats up so you don't have to use gems, but then it is a pretty good pitch to use some gems for units with 200+ stats, or in the case of the Lich, 900+ stats.

I say keep this new boss event layout going.

Loved the new structure that offered extra prizes at boss 15, 30, and 50 this go around! Was very achievable with time and gems to get to 30. Can't imagine expending the time to get to 50, but still feel satisfied that I completed a boss event.

Won the Cursed Lich, Scarred Hydra, 6 rare, 6 uncommon, and 18 common units for ~172k gold (incorrect amount of 190k in my prior post this morning) and 400 gems.

nice job HK. I am on boss 29 and going to get #30 in a few hours. I started using gems on #26, and will hopefully get it done with about 120-140 total gems. Thanks to those that gave me the nudge to try to get to #30 - you are right the stats on that unit are worth it. Bosses are getting so hard to take down now I can't imagine what #31 - 50 are like. The best news is of the 29 bosses down so far - 8 rare, 9 uncommon and only 12 commons...my best %s by FAR.

Went up from 80 allies to 220 (thanks folks) and increased attack from about 15k to 24.5k, and was finally able to defeat that sucker w/o gems. Lvl 68 too for frame of reference...might be able to get a 16th in...but definitely not much further lol.

If you are not too far from boss 50 I suggest you do a mass add and just add the best attack units you can afford. Forget about the expensive armor and weapons for now and give it a go. Another 100+ allies makes a big difference in your attack score.

Total gem tally: 125 gems. Had to use five potions on boss #30 - the health bar seemingly never moved. I swear they jacked up #30 just to suck the gems out, he was exponentially harder than #29.

I'll send you an invite, also check the "Add Allies" section of the KA forum. Post your code in a few threads and you should end up with about 10 or so invites over night. Don't just post your code either, add as many as time allows you to from those threads as well.

About the low vs. medium casualty thing, you probably just bring more of the Flaming Catapults to battle as opposed to the units with medium casaulties. Ie: if you bring 200 units to battle with low rating, and 50 units with a medium rating, your just bound to lose more of the low ones because of their quantity.

I ended up taking down boss 19. The majority of my units are imps; so unlike most, I can use my common units in battles. I received 2 uncommons and 1 rare and the Scarred Hydra. Even with the Scarred Hydra, my stats increased more with last boss event because out of 17 bosses, I received 4 rares and 4 uncommons. I still enjoyed this format of giving me something I can strive for and possibility of getting a rare by luck.

HK - congrats on your 30 and thanks for posting your information. How do you post in a format of spreadsheet?

I don't think at our level we can take down boss 30 without gems. We are in the same bracket as Albeezy. Boss 30 was 647460 strength. The raw score we would need to take down boss 30 without gems would be 48363 (647460/13). I'm at level 36. The highest unit I can buy is a Flaming Catapult attack 34, Weapon Heavy Battleaxe 21, and Thaumaturge Robe 12 with total raw attack of 67 (loot on our maps isn't better). With 540 units taking 67 attack score, that only comes to 36,180 raw attack. I have several units that I have won in events but no where near the additional 12,000 attack needed. It would also take a very long time to accumulate 540 Heavy Battleaxes and 540 Thaumaturge Robes.

If anyone is interested, I think it is possible to make it to 30 with Gnomish Lab level 40 with full army of Sapper Wagons but then all your attack units would be very high casualty. By the time you accumulated that many high value w/a and Sapper Wagons, I think the event will likely change again.

Did anyone cross the next threshold around 50 or 51 (my guess) and noticed the increase in boss strength? I'm curious where the different brackets are for the boss events.

Thanks Talkazar, I haven't noticed the Sapper Wagons were missing too. So it would be theoritically possible at level 43, 40 Flaming Trebuchet + 21 Heavy Batttle Axe + 14 Armor = 75 raw attack * 645 units = 48375 raw attack. My guess is still by the time you accumulate that many high attack units, Armor and Weapons, they would change the boss event on you.

FM, I play this game infrequently at best compared to CC. A KA tortoise guide would not be too helpful considering there are other guides here and much of it is common sense imo.
The hero strength thread I started, on the other hand, is a more useful discussion. Speaking about hero strength and how it relates to boss events my playing style with zero skill points allocation there and all into army attack does help here.

I've always used the gold option, even at the lower levels. I guess it would help to gauge how many levels I can go with free hits first. The ally is a free player and used gold hits, so I thought if my stats were comparable at a lower level (85 vs 100) then I would be able to get through level 15 too. I did finally get through level 11 by the skin of my teeth. Sounds like I need to find someone at my level to figure our how much attack I need though.
