View Full Version : What is the point of name the monster...if they will not use the winner's name?

I just sawthe new LEs and the monster of the "name that monster" DARKWOODS TERROR is not used

they named that monster COLOSSUS...........

Totally ridiculous. Just saw the same thing in CC - the winning name for the car in their contest wasn't used on the just released LE item. If contest winners don't actually win what's the point?

Maybe they didn't get the name to the engineers fast enough... or it was not approved.

ha! sometimes I think those naming contests are just to collect names for future units.

I agree...not naming it darkwoods terror is just wrong...what's up with that???

Wait! I did win one of the naming contests in CC, that is how I got my Spinal Tap, and the name I entered was used.

The contest was blind & 3 or 4 of us came up with the same name... LFizz ended up giving a Spinal Tap to all of us who posted the same name.

The name of the image that was sent out was "colossus." I was originally thinking of using that for my entry to make a joke.... guess I should have done so.

Btw, I think Darkwoods Terror is a fantastic name!! They should have used it... too bad they didn't.

Yea..I'm the one that submitted that name and was stoked to see it was winning! Kind of disappointed it wasn't used. Havnt received the prize either. Has anyone received the reward?

Let us hope, they did not send the name to the engineers on time, and will "change" the name to the "correct" name later on

Along with naming it Darkwoods Terror they could give the unit to EVERYONE who participated in the forum contest...would definitely boost forum involvement in the future!

Saw that too. Maybe their giving only the winner the monster with their name and another for the rest of us to purchase? Would fix the flan craft carrier debate ;) Probably just lack of communication or timing. I'm sure it will be sorted.

It was a mistake that is being fixed. My apologies. I've contacted the design team to get this fixed.
