If You could start over what he one thing you would do different. Me I would have just put all my skill points into hero strength with just a little stamina sprinkled in. I would put zero in to attack and defend. Several other things but that would be number one

But isn't there a point where putting points towards strength does no good anymore? I'd gotten that impression from another thread weeks back that at a certain point there's a limit. I still spend every level point on Hero Strength and alternate on Attack and Defense, maybe I should start saving the extra point for the next level up and put it all to Strength?

For high level players, is there a point where additional strength doesn't make any difference?

Joie

I don't know that's been talked about and really never have seen a concrete conclusion one way or the other. I am convinced though that as you get higher the attack defense really mean nothing's. I'm over 100 on hero strength but I'd have it much much higher at this level if I could do it again.

Things I would do differently
- Not level up so quickly (now that I'm aware of how whale territory works)
- Not spend any ******* money on this game
- Upgrade my favorite money buildings to 10 before advancing further

Yeah looking back:
- Not getting the Guardian Elemental's ability of 2 upgrades at a time.
- Wasting some of my upgrades and time
- Not being interested in the game until I hit level 50.
- Oh yeah and those points in Defense.

On the issue of points going to Attack or Defence (as opposed to Hero Strength), wasn't there some event prize that actually gave a bonus to Attack(?) skill points ... or was that to the Attack stats? Think it was +100.

HAHAHA, my friend, you are right on that, all skill points should go to Hero strentgh, at first does not seem to make much difference, but after a few levels, they make a huge diff in mastering the maps faster using way less energy
(compare at killing the Bone Lord with 12 hits instead of just 6/7)

I'd have to agree with leveling slower and learning how to actually play the game. A buddy told me about it and I was all about getting to a higher level than him when I started. I went to level 34 or 35 before I had any idea what I was doing. 2.5 months later I'm sitting at 53 and finally have some respectable stats but it sure would have been easier to do it right from the start.

So I started another account on my kids ipod to see if I can follow the things I've read here and build a better kingdom.

- I regret not being high enough level to farm lots of those 25/10 and 10/25 drops before they got nerfed!

- And I wish I had upgraded breeding den to level 10 a long time ago, but it was riskier at lower levels back then and I don't really have the patience to camp so not sure that one could've happened.

08-13-2012, 11:51 AM
I have two regrets. Firstly not realising that the higher den levels are achievable, when I was lower level and it would have been easier to upgrade I thought they were impossible and no one would ever reach them. Secondly, spending gems on crate units. The amount of money I've spent on the game isn't enough to make a significant stat increase but enough to make me think 'Why did I spend that much on an iOS game'. I don't regret the money I spent on gem buildings at all though.

for the most part, I think I'm doing everything right as free player. I'm at lvl 42 and the breeding den is not unlocked. All my unit buildings are at lvl 10 with exception of Wizards Spire currently upgrading to 9. I have all cash building with exception of 2nd manor with IPH at 5.7k. My hero strength is at 32, stamina at 12 but I have 15 shill points in reserve. Currently have 8 extra plots of land and have not been beaten in an attack in 39 days. I am a free player and I lost to a heavy gold spender who I did manage to win in a revenge attack. My suggestion, take your time, build your economy, upgrade all your unit buildings and take inventory of your units for attack and defense.

Easily my biggest (and expensive) mistake was seeing what it would take to get top 250 in one of the events (answer - way too many gems I didn't want to spend). Also building a large army of machines instead of developing my beast infrastructure. I probably should add not working to a level 10 breeding den earlier, but KA is my first game, and I can't honestly say I have the patience to camp.

Level 98, 126 Strength and every 2 levels I add 3 more. Every time I do slightly more max damage making cash/loot generation more effective. My LLP has... 1 Att and def skill and the basic stamina. All points in strength. lLp will be as you said all HS!

I don't get this. Why is attack and defense all of a sudden regarded as useless? There's only 200 levels and when you all have looted and stockpiled your gear the importance of those hero strength points will decrease dramatically. Yes, I'm one of those who plan for the long run. 75 hero points for the moment (at level 81) and I don't think I'll add any more.

I think if people knew how the hero A/D were used in battle calculations they might be more willing to use stat points in those categories. Right now, adding points into Hero Attack or Defense does not add any noticable benefit. I'm sure it makes your attack/defense better but how much? Does one point in Hero Attack add one point to your total attack score? Is it multiplied by your level or your number of allies? Nobody knows and since the difference isn't noticable its assumed the affect is minimal and might just be added with no multiplier. If thats the case, most chose being able to farm more loot and gold.

Yes if you play for ages you will have all the loot and gold you need, but lets be honest here, how many of us will play this game long enough to have max dragons and max armor/weapons?

The way you use your skill points toward ATK, DEF or Hero Points is entirely up to you and based on your goals and how you want to play the game and what kind of strategy you are using

My personal view

I have put all I can into hero strenght (currently have 179 and but the end of the day will be at 180)
have only 18 points in Attack and 7 for DEF

WHY Hero points for me?? well
My goal is to get 200 hero points and reach level 200 as fast as possible, currently at level 142, I need 17,000 experience point to get to level 143, which will take a while to get to 200

1 - it allows me to form for high stats loot such as Zealot blades 31/17, gem plates 18/34, blades of the undying 33/24and many others
2 - it allows me to kill 98% of ALL monsters in any map with 1 or 2 hits (only bosses such as Bone lord, Kraken Eye, Ancient Magician, Primal King, require 6/7 hits)
3 - #2 allows me to master maps alot faster and thus I get the extra skill point and the indy units (out of some have decent stats like the artic dragon and the nomadic mercenary, from high level maps)
4 - it helps me level up quickly, since I can get more Xps per energy use, thus getting more skill points that eventually can be use towards ATK and DEF
5 - farming high paying maps allows me to buy high stats units such as hydras, basilisks, flaming catapults, etc
6 - I do not spend too much on buying armors/weapons, I get tons from the maps :)

Again, it based on what you want to accomplish in the game, so skill points toward hero streght will help me achieve my personal goals

Cheers

I don’t know if this have been tested in any way but wouldn’t it be hard to say that skill points in A/D doesn’t make a notable difference when you don’t really know how well you would do without them? I’m not going to point fingers and tell people how to play their game but I’m just a little baffled at this consensus that A/D is next to useless. Yes, it’ll take longer for me to bulk up on gear but with a decent IPH I can buy a lot of the stuff any way. Well, no rights or wrongs I guess, but that’s my take on it.

I think it is just the concensus that it is much better to invest in hero strength because you get more monster kills for less xp, so for less xp you get more money and more loot. Money from enemy killing is significant, it accounts for ~30-40k a day for me. And the loot provides clear evidence in it helping your stats, you can clearly see how much each loot item helps while the A/D is such a mystery

Good question. I wish I would not have bought gems very early on - as it seems that I keep getting jacked in an effort to get me to buy gems again. I know that marketing and gem auctioning RULES this game and I think I screwed myself by buying them early and then stopping. Now, I am on the "Bought gems before and now stopped" list and they are trying to get me to buy gems by either keeping me at 4 or 9 items during an event or having me get 32 consecutive "Sorry Try Agains" like I have during this current event.

Don't buy gems until you are further along and then use them sparingly and never during events like that.

Let me know via PM if you're interested, and I'll set you up with the username/password.

Unfortunately, CCM has posted elsewhere (can't recall if it was on the KA board or the MW one) that transferring an account is not allowed... If I'm not wrong, both parties get banned.

Oh, and I believe you need 10 posts before you can start a thread.

I think looking back, I made quite a few mistakes.

back in the day, I used to do a lot of research before buying a game, I didnt bother to do that for KA since it was just an app I decided to download, and thought (hoped) it would simply be an entertaining game to play occasionally to kill time in airports or on the throne, I didnt look at it as a competitive game.

I didnt really understand the PvP aspect of the game at all early on... it took me quite a while to figure out that I should visit a rival and view their profile before deciding to attack or not, lol.

I viewed the game as a sort of mini-dungeon crawl/empire building, and focused almost completely on the quests and advancing through the maps, etc

I thought leveling up asap was important, turns out slow and steady is probably the way to go.

I suppose in summary, the biggest mistake I made is looking at the game as "my kingdom, on my phone" and not understanding the PvP aspect of it... I could certainly continue to play however I want and ignore PvP, but going over vault to try to get certain upgrades would result in me losing a ton of gold if I did, so understanding that now is helpful

I do see a decent number of high level players who dont seem to understand PvP, though, as I still occasionally get attacked by players with much lower A/D stats than me, and they attack me with unvaulted gold so when I kick them to the curb they pay me for the effort, lol.

Playing this game, investing so much time and effort into it...for NOTHING.

And i am serious about this. There is no end game except to use your credit card to buy buy buy buy buy ingame items. Whatever.

If you werent/arent entertained by the game... one should really stop playing. "Investing" time in any game is really an effort in futility once one tires of it and moves along.
