Collect 10. I've spent more gold on the old event, because I knew that it was possible to get the final prize without using much gold. Spending gold on the new type is useless for me, because my income isn't high enough to compete with the rich folks.

Care to share? The most I've gotten so far in the new style events has been 13 items, resulting in a whopping 2 prizes (at 5 and 10).

I think CCM should do (more) polls. Then he could just copy/paste the results into his presentations and lay it out really simply for his uppers.

Then again, they probably have a presentation of their own. It is probably for income earned from the game, but it is probably an inverse relationship to our interests. The more dissatisfied we are, the more we spend. Isn't it true that the impoverish go into debt gambling?

Edit: I'm not really that dissatisfied. Just joining the rant bandwagon. Bah humbug.

Even if they move it back to collect 10 all they will do is reduce the probability of an open and/or item. This will entice some people to spend gold to at least get rid of the fails.
Still profitable but probably not as profitable as having people spend right till the end to guarantee the item and modifier.

Imo the new format is probably a greater money maker or a potential to be one in the long run.
Having a leaderboard makes certain people want to be more competitive and to stroke their egos.
Plus 20 items makes it even more difficult for campers and a good thing for Gree as competition (especially as you level) potential breeds greater likelihood of gold spending.
I would suggest a best of both worlds approach. Back to collect 10 with leaderboards and top 250 get an additional lets say 10% boost on end item and then top 25 an additional item plus a further +1 up to +25 boost on collect 10 end item stats. That way anyone looking in their inventory can figure out how they placed in that event.

According to iTunes, MW, CC and KA have dropped quite a bit in the top grossing free iPad apps since I last checked, a few weeks ago, CC used to be in the #30s, now it's at #174. Is that an indicator that the new event format might not be that great of a money maker for GREE?

Bottom line is... They're gonna keep what ever type of event makes them the most money $$$
I personally liked the collect 10, I got more items from those since I'm not a gold buyer
