Next event - place your bets now

My guess is that the next event will start tomorrow (Thursday for those of us in Europe and Asia; tonight - Wednesday night - for those in the Americas). It will probably be an Auction, less likely an old-style 10-item event and even less likely an IPH one. What say you?

That's mostly because I wasn't given event info in time to get a post up before players already had them up. Don't worry, I'll be getting more event posts up in time. I may even get to spoil events by a day. We'll see.

The unfair thing is that MW has no auctions, only the 10-item style. As for boss events, MW only requires you to beat 30 bosses - and I can get much further along despite being at a much higher level.

In general, Gree seems to be making events much more demanding (in terms of effort, real cash and luck) and less rewarding in KA than in MW (e.g. I got no rares at all and only one uncommon in the last KA event, whereas I've always managed to get at least one rare in MW).

I don't understand the fuss between "free" and "gem" players. If you want and can spend real money, do it. If you don't want to, don't. Nothing against any type of player.

What should happen though is - as has been mentioned in the thread - that some events are set up so that "free" players can look forward to getting great units as well.

I have no problems if players spend $10k on an event to get the top price. If you can, go for it. Just give the "free" players some sugar, too. Or otherwise Gree will loose those free players, which I assume make up the majority of players. A good business strategy is to keep everybody happy and still make money. It's not that complicated.

But remember that Casinos also have "penny" slot machines for those that like to fun without spending much, you spending $50 actually would fall under the "penny" players at a Casino, basically you are playing free, but also have the chance of getting a "big" prize at the slot machines. and believe it or not, alot of Casinos make more money from the "penny" machines than from the tables...;)

That's because the Leader Board is still broken (not 100%), I hope they don't start another Event till they Fix all the crap that's still broken. I'm still waiting on a ticket from the Gem of light event where I was in the top 250 and never got the prize. In the last Druid Event I finished with 70 vials the leader board had me at 69 at the end. screen shot

Beat the Boss event the Emerald Dragon is BUSTED, you recoup the health but it's useless because you cant attack the boss till the normal 25 mins expires.

this is weird, they usually do not go thig long withoug starting an event, for once this could be nice, because we get to rest a bit, and also I want to believe they might be trying to implement something new and much better than the auctions

has anyone seeng something different in the beta players???
perhaps new units? (that you can only get with honor points) if they are trying the ranking system like in MW

I know they have been working on issues and as CCM stated, they have added to the games new and improve ways to detect cheaters/hackers

@hobtuse.. they could bring another boss event IF they drop the rounds to 30 and make the boss at least 40% weaker than what it is now, that way most players will be able to reach level 22 and would be willing to spend gold to beat the remaining 8 levels

@spectra: truth be told it does irk me when someone posts they got 10 rares etc etc from 20++ bosses while I slog away at the 7th one. good for those players but i don't understand the punishment on high level players (mw players have the same problem so it's not going away)

resigned to killing under 10 bosses again if the event pops up, hence hoping its not a weekly or bi-weekly event.

the only good thing about the boss event was that I made it to level 8 breeding den and almost getting to 100 hydras in the same week.

True, for me the boss pretty much ends the very same day it starts (and I think that is pretty much the same for 97% of the players) we all get stuck around boss 8 to 10, and GREEd wants us to spend GEMS to kill 30+ bosses, that is seriously ridiculous, and developers, what were they thinking saying that after testing 40 round was FAIR for KA...........hahahahah, man what were the smoking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both KA and MW have been without an event for awhile now other then epic boss event but as we have seen they usually run boss and box events at same time.

Seems strange CC has had 2 box events now since the last KA or MW box event. I'm not complaining as I am enjoying the break just find it strange.

It might be the feedback + analysis + an internal decision to make it harder/more challenging/a way to get revenue, but recently:
- Boss event implemented
- Social sites and ways to earn gems
- Forum only "event", a way to have a chance to earn gems and one person, a unit
- Back to back events has been held off

Fine you could argue that it is all coincidental, but IMHO they're operating off ofthe feedback to a degree that doesn't completely contradict their business model or plan with the game or take it off course.

Indeed, as others have said it allows a chance to save up gold without feeling as if you're missing out on Box/Boss units. Gives me a much needed opportunity to further upgrade my vault, level up my unit buildings and build the few remaining money buildings I need, and pad my Army A/D.

And I love the name a monster event idea. A way for one lucky person here on the forums to get an exclusive unit (though it would've been nice to have some idea of it's stats). Still, I think that was a worthy bone to throw us forumites. Also like that it'll go the democratic route and we get to vote for the winner.

We spoke too soon. Still, I'll mostly go free option, maybe gold towards the end if I'm within one or two of the next closest free prize unit. My gems only get spent on guaranteed units from the store, or gem money buildings.
