it was actually kind of weird. I had about 16 boxes yesterday after a pvp run. opened box after box yesterday and today. got down to my last box. got 2 sorry's after I got off work. Thought about doing another PVP run to get a bunch of boxes for OT. Decided, no, i'm going to see whats in this last box first. boom, out popped the engine. I think if i had done pvp and gotten back up to around 20 boxes, the 10th part wouldnt have popped out.

Just got number 10!!!! I had been at 9 for almost 4 days and had come to terms with a no win. I am not sure if I am more excited about the unit, or relieved that the gold spent was not totally wasted. I had been using gold opens with an occasional string of resets in frustration. After being away for a few hours I gave it another shot with 4 boxes left....gold open, reset, cash sorry, reset, gold open, reset, gold number 10. One left.....maybe I will get super lucky with the last one and score an extra allie!.....sarcasm intended.

I decided to do gold opens after the first day, short event, plus already had some free gold from event refunds. Ended up dropping almost 1000, got to 9 2 days ago but that's it. This is why I hate gambling, feels damn lousy to lose. But eh, knew there was a good chance I wouldn't get it, worth the attempt for that 20% time saver. Not gonna buy more gold, set my limit, but will probably try to open some with cash in OT. Got some 9th items that way recently, maybe I'll get lucky. Good luck WP and anyone else trying.

Cost me a lot too. I kept justifying it at first because 2,500 of it was bonus gold. Then you start thinking you have to get the item, otherwise all the previous gold was a waste. It's a little different feeling then gambling.... But maybe it's because I walk into a casino expecting to lose money. I go into these events expecting to win. So you kind of have a feeling of being scammed when you don't win.

I hope the next item sucks, otherwise I'm gonna have to add some new clients just to afford the events they keep popping out....lol.

You guys finally figured this out?

In terms of the events, because there are some long term issues that aren't getting fixed I don't bother playing them. For starters the cost is way too high for the low value units. It cost me 169,000 in cash to try a cash open and that really used to put a crimp in my cash flow.

I now only use the free option and only hit the events if I happen to be on. I can usually get 7 opens with the free option last event was 6. On a different note with the KA boss events I stop doing missions so as notvto get any gems/boxes or whatever they happen to be called and again only do free opens.

Also noticed on the last event that the leaderboard had a much lower number of wins required to get into the pool so I suspect people are giving up on this cash grab. Though the leader I've never heard of so possibly a hacker or shill?

Saso I have won 2 of the past 4 events with all cash. It is really all about luck. Many people have spent thousands of gold on this event and past events and don't get it.

My recommendation -- don't use gold. I asked a similar question last week and the majority of responses guided me in the way of using gold to purchase gold money buildings. If you can only beat boss 9, it would take you hundreds of real dollars to beat the boss 30 times. Use the cash open option

Agreed. That is so awesome some people won both. That double bonus would make a huge difference. Now lets hope for a reduced rate on buildings or land.

You have to decide before you walk through the doors how much you are going to lose. When you hit that you must stop. Change your mind in the casino/event, and you are gonna hurt. What really hurts is that the events are somewhat deceiving to the normal human thought process. Odds are very good up to 8. 7 is 25%, 8 is 12%. Then 9 is 6% and 10 is 1.4%. So from 7 to 9 each subsequent item is halved, whereas previous items were decreasing by roughly 10%. Then it drops way off at 10. It tricks you into thinking you're on a roll, but 1.4 in 100 is worse odds than placing a bet on a single number in roulette.

Anyway...first few attempts in OT have all opened, no prize yet but will keep open for the day though I will mostly be out. Probably will give up tonight. My biggest worry would be getting the 10th in OT then not getting the prize. Haven't seen that happen with the 9th, but if it did with the 10th, would hate to file that support ticket. CC Mark once said those are among his most annoying of support requests.

I'm starting to see this game favors certain players over others. Unless they are spending hundreds of £££/$$$ basically attacked a player that was at lvl 75 and his attack was only at 7.5k and defence was around the same. He had the warlord siege tank? How can someone so weak defeat the boss 30 times? Shinanigans :( I'm not spending another penny as I used my gold to open boxes in the events as and when and all I ever get is dragon soldiers, water cannons and so on. On another note I opened my 1st ninth box yesterday just using the ingame cash. And I have managed to play around 8 of the events I need some stronger units fml

I "accidentally" used my phone as a PHONE and disrupted my "chances" at #10. I got 9 this morning around 6-7a EDT. Spent every last tapjoy good last night (150 banked FOR this event, in case it ever returned) and got a bunch of ghost hounds and dragons. Frustrated, envious, and feeling ripped off. It is really hard to come by 150 tapjoy.

I can not even begin to imagine how one who pays real $$ would feel to not get this prize. WP, 6,000 - oh ehm GEEEE!!!

Sorry to hear that, man. I know the first time this prize came around, a bunch of us got stuck on 9. The McDoc method seems to have been somehow nerfed on the last 2-3 events. It was gold (pun intended) for about 5-6 events in a row, but now it somehow doesn't work. My 1-2 box method still gets me to 8 or 9 everytime for free, but never 10 anymore either.

Sorry to hear that, man. I know the first time this prize came around, a bunch of us got stuck on 9. The McDoc method seems to have been somehow nerfed on the last 2-3 events. It was gold (pun intended) for about 5-6 events in a row, but now it somehow doesn't work. My 1-2 box method still gets me to 8 or 9 everytime for free, but never 10 anymore either.

I really feel like there needs to be another loot class based on your relative strength. With everyone putting event prizes in their sig. line, I want to put "Proud owner of 91 Defensive Cannons, 77 Armored Chargers, and 68 Dragon Soldiers." in my line. Zero of the loot items make my army, offensive or defensive. They might as well be tree snipers.

Had my 600 gold for the 20 crates i had left.
Did the open/reset.....finally got it on the 9th box out of the 20...

If the 10th box is based on 1.4% then the McDoc theory doesnt really need to be followed since its based on chance?

The other units at my level were, Elite Rover, Swift Osprey, Heavy Carrier (was quickly nerfed since it was 10th item event prize from previous event), Lethal AA, Dragon Viper.

On a better note, I am working on Boss 16 in the KA event. Should finish him off with cash hits. It's funny, bosses 10-16 have all taken the full 13 hits, but I keep adding units and raising my attack just enough to finish the next one off without gems. If I had 800k gold in KA I could probably get into the mid 20's with the bosses, and higher if I had better equipment. I have almost tripled my attack since the event started and am doing 12.6k damage with each cash hit at level 37. (3 rares and 2 uncommons so far)

Hard to say if it was nerfed or not. It worked for me last event, though it took 1,800 gold or so.

Those numbers may be a little high since McDoc's method uses gold for resets and energy refills, but you get the idea. And remember, some have spent thousands on gold and never got the 10th, with or without McDoc's method.

Great purchase. The boost is well worth the money IMO. I'm holding onto the rest of my gold for the next boss event and will only dump gold on a crate event if they throw out a reduction in upgrade costs.

the energy boost would be an incentive for me. I usually hit the tugboat during crate events (245 energy). Right now it takes me about 1.5 hours to have enough energy to hit it once. I lose a lot of boxes from attacks so it would be nice to be able to hit the tugboat every half hour to find a box, although I doubt a second energy boost would be 65% again because those that already had the previous one would have unlimited energy, you could do some serious leveling up and cash grabbing on the high map bosses though if that happend

it was actually kind of weird. I had about 16 boxes yesterday after a pvp run. opened box after box yesterday and today. got down to my last box. got 2 sorry's after I got off work. Thought about doing another PVP run to get a bunch of boxes for OT. Decided, no, i'm going to see whats in this last box first. boom, out popped the engine. I think if i had done pvp and gotten back up to around 20 boxes, the 10th part wouldnt have popped out.

You are correct! Less boxes the better I've found! I try to keep less than 5 at a time, doesn't always work out though...

Mcdoc, I modify your method a little with under 30 seconds left in the event. When the timer hits 30 seconds, I combine gold opens with resets. I also keep a low number of boxes on hand during this time, 3 one time and got this result one the last open -

Hmm...sounds like a pretty decent alternative to the McDoc method.

So they could offer it again and it would go up to 8. While that would be almost 200% faster than base, it is definitely not unlimited energy...but it is nice when trying to get boxes. :)

Fast out of the gate is the only consistent success strategy that I have seen.It's also the only strategy anyone has really talked about and that others have tried repeatedly. And it hasn't been 100% either. Any way you do it, spend a ton of gold and maybe you get lucky.
