Has anybody notice something like this

for a couple of events now ad specially during this event

I just bought some gems last night before the sale ended and after that it seem that my open rate using the gold and free options are slim to none.

yesterday before buying the gold I was able to open about 5 boxes out of 20 tries (Even though it only gave me gold and stupid 50x Honor points), today I have gotten nothing but "sorry" and 1 open out of 12 tries

Coincidence??????........bad luck????...........or one of those things that make you go HHMMMM!!!!!!

way to go, only 24 more to get 5 units............lol

I will be happy if I make it to 20, If I get to 24 with middle/free options and is close to end of event, I might just try a couple of gem opens to see if I get #25 (dare to dream!!!!!!!!!!!)

I have the same exact feeling. Like what I posted yesterday....bought a pile of gems ...got to 5 gems then started using gold option. My buddy has already overtaken me on elixirs...he's using rusty knife. OMG!!!

What I have noticed, is it seems like it's harder to get a Vial the more boxes you have. Pure speculation but I open alot of boxes and when I've only got 20-30 on-hand I seem to get more successful. Then when I pve or pvp and get 70-80+ boxes my success goes way down on getting a vial. I hate having tons of boxes and I get them from almost everything I click on. One event I ended with 176 boxes still unopened (and I opened like 60).

My advice is to try and only keep 5-10 boxes on hand, then when you're almost out go get some more. Very tricky to do tho. If you're as active and impatient as me. :)

5 out of 20 is pretty good. Most of the time, I only get 1 open out of 8 or 10 tries using gold. Maybe that's why you feel its suddenly got worse?

Seems that majority of the players forget that the gold invested in the event is even a waste.

In the most optimal scenario I would get an indestructible unit after 5 vials. So let's assume i can open them 5 in a row a 1700 gold per opening. Total invested = 8500. For this gold i would have already a nice destructible unit.

Let's go further and say the indestructible unit is more added value because you will never loose it... well... this is only valid in case you got a full gold army. It's not because you can't loose that unit, you will not lose another one. Even worse... in the beginning you will lose maybe still cheaper units, but at a certain moment your destructiblue units are so good they cost a lot also and it will be those that will be touched soooner as you got more maybe even WORSE indestructible units thanks to the event.

So in the end... if you want to 'GAIN' from such events, then you need 100% opening rate and still convince yourself you're doing a bargain.

On the other hand... it keeps you busy, distracts you.

that is the same feeling I get with having too many boxes
last event I ended with about 400 of them, I could not even get any open
with this AUCTIONS I have to pretty much do camping during them, because I do alot of PVP for honor points and trying to master the maps, but on a full tank of energy I can kill about 10 or so monsters and end up with at least 7/8 boxes, when I do pvp I also get at least 3 boxes, if I play as usual, then I end up with 100s of them and the more I get, the lower the open rate seem

I know there are some "dry" periods during events, I have gotten up to 14 "sorry" in a row, then a few opens in a row too, anyways, for arguments sake I will say it is just "bad luck"...lol

I don't believe there is a correlation between the number of boxes you have vs your chances of getting a vial, rather the more vials you have your chances of getting another vial is diminished. This is how I observed it at least. Also observed that your chances of getting another vial is lower at the 5th, 10th, 15th, etc vial. Might also be presumptive on my part but it's what I've seen.

Both of these theories, at least, make sense from a business standpoint. The more vials a player has, the more likely they are a gem subscriber. The more hardcore of a gem subscriber they are, the more likely they are willing to put more coins into the slot machine to get that next bonus unit. Same is true for 5th, 10th, etc vials. You can lure even casual players into spending five bucks if they are only one vial away from a new perma unit. There may also be a time variable, where the closer the contest comes to expiration, the lesser your chances of finding a vial (creates an escalative spending requirement as players realize they are running out of time). I can think of NO reason why Funz would create a correlation to the number of boxes you have, as mentioned in an earlier post. Nor can I think of any reason why they would penalize people who use gems (unless they think gem users a suckers, which they probably do, no offense to anyone!)

This is all theory based on the very real fact that (as any sensible player knows) Gree (and formerly Funz) does not create games because they love to create or are particularly good at creating a GREAT gaming experience. They really only care about the bottom line. While certainly addictive, KA is mediocre at best when it comes to content or design. I would defy anyone at Gree to claim otherwise.

Maybe that is why so many of the regular t50 folks jump outta the gate with 20-40 vials/elixirs within the first few hours.. Your box supply is as low as it can be then. I might have to try that one time.

I agree, it's so random, but I find the first 24 hours I get lots of 'vials/parts etc' ...

but given that I got a support response some time back that every progressive event item/part etc you get the lower the chance of dropping an event item/part etc gets when opening the next box/crate etc. So you can plug away with gold/gems, but if the odds are down to 5% when it actually opens that it's an event item/part then you are not increasing your chances with each open, only getting a random 5% chance each time... i.e. lots of crappy honor or gold etc before you score an event item... if ever...

Then the next chance might now be down to 4% on a successful open. I was assured (though why the wording said this amuses me still) that it never drops below 0%... Lol so you open a crate/box and LOSE a vial/part good one... luv ya CJ.

Post hoc ergo prompter hoc and that still doesn't make an sense to me... Although your guess is as good as mine.

Again it may just be that it is (1) easier to gain vials earlier in the contest than later and/or (2) harder to get additional vials with each new vial that you obtain.
