So yet again another event with no modifier for the top 250 prize. You're really beginning to take the mickey Gree. I'm shocked at how stupid you are because the group of players who would spend gold during an event to get the top 250 prize and modifier will now think twice.

Put it this way i'm more than happy to spend a vault of gold on an event to get that top 250 prize as long as there's a modifier as well.

Thank you though because you've now saved me 2 vaults of gold with this and the last event.

I really have a hard time farming with the event going on I would like the option just to keep it off.

LOL! I don't care how some people here try to justify it. It's absolutely ridiculous to spend the amount of money some people are spending on THIS game. I'm all for spending money on gaming, whether it be buying console games or paying a subscription for online games like World of Warcraft, where your money is actually going towards something. But in this case, Funzio/Gree is just laughing their way to the bank while people continue to spend money on regurgitated content. Whatever happened to all the content that was promised? Changing the format of the events (which I think the majority of people hate) while merely changing the item/icon of whatever needs to be collected does not constitute "new" content in my opinion.

Wow, you've had a nice start dude. I don't think many people are interested in logging their progress anymore because they know there's no chance of making the top 250 unless you spend endless amounts of cash on gold.

If your luck continues for the next 5 days you might be in with a chance.

At least with the previous event setup, people (gold spenders and non-spenders alike) shared their frustration at their progress or lack thereof in the event since everyone had an equally ****ty chance of collecting the 10 items required.

With the new event setup, free players don't have a chance. Not only that, but with the new intervals of 5, 10, 15, and 20, you're lucky if you get 10, like in the old events because it looks like the Funzio/Gree has kept the odds of opening a chest and getting the required piece the same. In this event alone, I got 1 ring on my first try/open, then got 8 fails in a row. Meanwhile the top person has over 100 rings already.

Yeah....I'm sure BALANCE was the real reason they got rid of the M4A1s. :rolleyes:

Well you got to keep in mind 2 things...

1) the old style event... MAYBE there was a hidden top100/50/25 top prizes but we couldn't see that... not everyone won the final item...

2) there is only 25 top prizes... however it's players raising the bar... not Funzio... clearly people are willing to spend the money and that is who you are competing with...

My thought was I wonder if this format is playing itself out... Given no modifier for the getting 20 out of 20 and the impossibility of getting a modifier without heavy gold spending I am kinda wondering if it might be possible for a no gold to get into the top 250.

I have this feeling that after two of these events so far, most people are starting to forgo spending gold unless they are sure they will get into the top 25...If this is the case I believe that I have a decent shot if I keep up my frequency of opens.

Really I think the newness of this has worn off and most people realize they have a better chance of getting and an equivalent weapon as the top 250 by spending money on crates. Who knows?

I agree that free players have no chance of a top 25, but i do think they have a shot at top 250 and with my wife out of town this week I intend to make my best shot. With the old style event there was an incentive for players to spend gold to get the modifier with 10/10 without regards to how others were doing.

I think the incentive to spend gold is now gone unless you are really going to go after the top 25. With that in mind I think that more gold is being spent by those select few but in general fewer people are spending and after two events have probably figured it isn't worth it...

They are much better now than the past tho................ At least only 250 people with no money management skillz get a fancy item...... Not 90% of players getting an item and little old me missing out....

At least this way I don't have to participate...... Because 99% of people don't get jack...... So I can carry on putting in zero effort on events.... And I don't miss out anymore :)

Im not a complainer but this is not cool,

that happened to me on the first day, all failed.

Funkio did not want to give non-gold spender anything, even the 4 basic items. That's hopeless.

Some of the attempts are made while I'm sleeping. I tend to wake up a lot, usually for no good reason, and it only takes a minute or less to check CC (it's already open when I sleep anyways), collect my only 1-hr building and attempt to open an event box. Depending how tired I am or how quickly I expect to get back to sleep, I will either pop out of the app and log it here (still not sure what the point of all this event progress logging, but whatever) or just take a screen shot and log it later. Sometimes I forget to screen grab, and sometimes I remember but forget about it and the attempt doesn't get logged until much later.

Has anyone else been getting a really good open rate today? Yesterday I opened the usual 16-18 (lost count) with only 2 opens

Today I've only had around 3 or 4 fails. Haven't had time to log all opens unfortunately. I seem to be getting a pattern with the last 2 events:
Day 1: High open rate, high ring rate
Day 2-4: Poor open rate, very poor ring rate
Day 5. (final day): High open rate, above average ring rate

Anyone else getting similar to this too?

Ugh. I'm only on 13. Was on 13 around this time on the last event too actually. I managed to get 15 in the end on the last event so that's what I'm hoping for this time too

About 18 attempts per day I just barely got to 15 on the last event. I got the first 10 rings in a row on this event so pretty lucky this time.

It sure would be nice if I could manage another 3-4 Diamond Rings today. I know it's very unlikely since I already have 4 today, but it would be cool. I'm surprised I'm as close to the 250 as I am considering I spent a while at 3 or 4 rings behind the cutoff and haven't used any gold.

I got 16 rings with a very low open rate when the event ends in about 40 hours.

Suddenly the open rate & the ring drop rate increase dramatically, I got 19th ring, just need 1 more ring to reach top 250 when the event is about 30 hours left, and then the drop rate return very poor like before.

I think that is a smart trick, place player in the near winning situation and that come the question: to pay or not to pay.

Thank to Funzio, I got the 20th ring when the time is about 16 hour left, and need 2 more rings to reach top 250. Nah, I don't have to pay anymore.

I got 9 rings the first two days and was stoked...and then reality set in and I only got two more rings in three days. Now I'm on 13 fighting/hoping to get to 15. The worst is that I have gold saved up, and I gotta look at it every time I see that demoralizing "Fail". That dang message plays with your ego. The weird thing about this event is either i got "fails" or rings, and I average about 14-16 opens a day. Only 1 300rp, 1 $10,000, and 1 weapon. Not really a medium chance when you look at it as a whole.

Interesting:
Did the opening 3 days of event with cash, not great, but not bad 50 attempts 7 general items, 8 Rings.
So, I had some gold and thought based on the past events that about 40-50% event item on a for sure open. Wow was I wrong... I had originally planned on using 8-10 gold to get closer to the 20 and switch back to cash:

My cash open cost is $6300(abt), 3 in a row @ $6K payout
Respect 100; (3 of these)
Mafia (a couple of these)
Bomb Squad (a couple of these)
30K (4 of these in a row)

I did finally get to 15, but only 8 out of 30 opens got a ring. So, lesson for me, stop the hassle of the events. I guess in the bigger picture, the people that do play and win, will blow right by me on their way to the top.

I guess F/G doesn't understand that you don't put a dollar into a slot machine and get a dime back; so no more gold from me (like many others have said).

For the cash open it's always been about 70% fail vs. 30% open; then of the opens factor down to about 12-15% actual event item(out of the 100% total).

Has anyone had any success of switching back and fourth between Gold and Cash (or even Free)? Does a large number of Free fails count when you switch back to Cash? As you track numbers when your percent gets to about 77% you can almost always count on an item, until it gets back to about 67% (sometimes you are a little better off, but for the past 3 events it's tracked almost perfectly after you get a good sample of attempts). This is all IMHO, your mileage may vary.

Well I'm heading to bed and got my 16th ring on this last open, all in game cash. I didn't use any gold at all on this event. I had a 2 day stretch of 28 opens without a ring. I have about 45 boxes left and I think if I was at 18 or 19 I would have done some resets to try n get the car but since there were cheap with the rings this event I'm gonna be cheap with my gold.......

Thats not right. Did you try to completely close out CC and start it up again? Otherwise I would definitely send a support ticket. I think I am going to start taking a screen shot of my totals before the event ends in case this happens to me!

I think you don't understand the "rules". It says at the top of the event "you need X# of items to reach the top 250". That's not the total number of items you need, that's how many MORE items you need. If you actually look at the leaderboard and look at the person listed in place 250, the minimum number of items you need to collect is the same as however many that person has.

For example, you have 10 items. The person in place 250 has 20 items. The game will tell you that you need 10 items to reach the top 250. Ok, you already have 10 items so you're good, right? WRONG. You have 10 items and you need 10 MORE, not 10 total.

Had six on day one, ended with nine. Considering that opening more boxes has no effect on the rings you end up with, can we just save time and get a "you lose" up front?

This is just my opinion but I don't know why anyone would want to spend gold to get the top 250 prize which has no modifiers.

Same results here & I feel exactly the same way. For me, it was either a no-open or a ring. I got nerfed respect once and one of those junky hitman rifles. I got 14 opens out of exactly 92 attempts. That's a 15.2% success rate. LOL

I don't post often, but I lurk a bit, here's my anecdotal results, all using the middle cash option

42 attempts to open crates
17 successful opens
10 diamond rings

That's roughly a 40% open rate.

Of 17 successful opens 10 were diamond rings, resulting in a 59% diamond ring rate for successful opens, and a 24% diamond ring rate for total attempts.
