I justified spending $80 cash (minus iTunes gift cards given to me) for some gold units and a couple of gold buildings. Don't plan on spending anymore on gold though, unless I get more iTunes gift cards lol

EDIT: Pffft! Did not realize there was a poll until just now XD

@jmc, i severely doubt anyone has ever spent that much money on this game.

Well lets see. There are players with over 400000 attack and 400000 defence in raw stats. Lets assume that their army is entirely composed of gold units which give 200/200 for stats. Units with 400 total stats cost around 750-800 gold. Lets just say 750 gold each. 750 x 2000 = 1,500,000. That is 1000 vaults of gold. 1000 x $100 = $100,000.
This does not include upgrading their base. Some have IPHs in the multi millions. Also does not include all the weaker gold units they may have purchased before that are no longer making it into their army.
Another thing to consider is that these units will not actually be 200/200 as they rarely ever are. People will more likely buy units that are more concentrated into either attack or defence, meaning they have separate offensive and defensive armies. This could add a few hundred more gold units of similar cost to their army.

Bigger gold buyers get more gold for their money so I don't think it's that high.

That's a good point, what is the rate for larger purchases? No doubt people have spent upwards of $50000 though.
I know one guy spent around $20000 to obtain 500K atk/def and that's with using the powerful loot like siege tanks/wavebreakers/riptide runners when they were on the wrong missions. He got the stats for at least 5-7x cheaper than full gold armies would of cost.

Not quite sure because I deleted the email from J, but if you spend like $10,000 a month you get like 400% more gold. I don't know what they are compairing the 400% to though.

The percentages are usually compared to the $5 purchase.

So $5 will get you 50 gold. At that rate, $10000 will get you 100000 gold. +400% would mean 500000 gold.

That seems a little bit high though. Perhaps it works so that any money spent AFTER already spending $10000 has a +400% rate. Either that or not all the players know about that deal. Some people have actually approximated or told others how much they've spent and the amount they spent compared to their gold army/base resembles fairly closely to the amount of gold they'd receive if they spent it all at the rate of vaults of gold.

War Priest
07-18-2012, 01:47 PM
Come to think of it, I believe it was 300%. That seems more correct. I know it wasn't lower than that though.

no one has spent $100,000 on this game.. i doubt anyone has spent $50,000... Are you forgetting there are hacks that allow you to get gold for free? dont forget about that.

Anyway heres what CJ says about the bonuses for spending more $, (yea i asked since i spent a lot of $ >_<)

We have a special program for people who want to purchase larger gold quantities with a steep bonus. Apple won't let us sell larger packages, but we are willing to increase bonuses for players if they're willing to commit to the following amounts:

$500 in a month = 100% bonus
$1,000 in a month = 200% bonus
$2,000 in a month = 300% bonus
$5,000 in a month = 300% bonus plus one crate item of your choice
$10,000 in a month = 300% bonus plus one event item that you missed out on. You must have received the previous item in the tier for that to happen. (i.e. if you want the 10th item you'd need to have acquired the 9th already.)

Only one bonus can be obtained per month, and it can only be obtained once per month. You have to buy $100 packages to get to your bonus amount, as we calculate the bonus gold based on the assumption that you're already receiving the 50% bonus from buying $100 packages. So if you purchase $750 in a month, you will only get the 100% bonus applied to $500 of that. If you purchase $4,000 in a month you will get the 300% bonus applied to $2,000 of that. To clarify, the exact amounts of gold you receive for reaching each tier are outlined below:

$500 = 2500g.
$1000 = 15000g.
$2000 = 50,000g.
$5000 = 125,000g.
$10000 = 250,000g.

These restrictions are in place for record-keeping purposes and we may loosen them at a later date. Let me know if you're interested or have any other questions.

so, if you spend $10,000 in a month, you get an EXTRA 250,000 gold ontop of 150,000 gold you get for the initial purchase for a grand total of 400,000 gold. So with your math, to get 400k\400k all you'd need to spend is $37,500 >_>

Anyway, to get 400k attack\def you'd only need to spend about $15,000 for 560k gold. (approx) With the bonus LE's (and of course to stay below the 2000 max threshold) You'd need 400 LE Sets, they range from 1390 gold - 1500gold for the 5 units. If you're lucky you'd get about 1000attack\def per set you buy. to achieve 400k attack\def you'd only need 400 LE sets which would cost 560k gold. (average\approx)

But this is all with luck on that bonus unit. One rare bonus unit makes up for 3 900gold unit's. Not to mention the event units...

All in all, with a bit of luck you'd probably be able to get 400k def\att with about 600k gold.

Well lets see. These guys didn't always have powerful LE sets and all the other bonuses that are available today. Also, they most likely did not always have these deals, or many players do not even know about them, as many have confirmed to spend much more than you think the biggest spender has spent.

Obviously they also did not spend all their gold wisely with much of it gone to waste. These guys also have bases with income per hours in the millions. These guys have been around for months, i highly doubt any of them hacked their entire army without being noticed.

I was assuming 100K because i didn't know about these special deals. But regardless, there are a few players who have certainly spent over $50,000 on the game. Buying your way to 400K stats now is much cheaper than it was before. Not everyone spent their whole lot of gold within the last week. These guys have been spending here and there, building it up over several months, making right and wrong moves as well as replacing older gold units that are now obsolete in their armies.

The player i mentioned before that had very high stats, confirmed to have purchased about 15000 pounds worth of gold for gold units, and then 15000 more to obtain all the loots while they were out. That is already 30000 pounds. Convert that to dollars and its like what 45K? This guy has spent far less than the players who hadn't built their army off powerful loots, and have similar stats. You are making the assumption that everyone is 100% efficient with their spending.

As for the LE set thing you mentioned. That is assuming that you obtain the rare unit just about every other set you purchase. On average you'd probably only get 800 attack stat per set purchased. Defence stats of high stat units are always significantly lower. For defensive units, people would have to look elsewhere and take advantage of units with lopsided defence stats and buy those for their defensive army.

Well you have the common and the uncommon. On top of the set itself. Thats like either 650 or 775 attack total.
With the rare you get like 1200 attack. So to have an average of 1000 per set, you'd have to really get lucky.

As for defensive stat, even with the Rare unit. That is not even 800 defence. So an average of 1000 defence for a set is actually impossible.

I know how much - but if my wife knew - she wouldn't be the wife for much longer. Like someone else said - it is all relevant to your disposable income. I probably have averaged about $500 a month so I am definitely gonna check into these discounts.

As far as being an idiot - that's again relevant to your outlook on money. When money is not an issue for you - spending money on entertainment is a luxury you reward yourself with. There are guys in the game that have reportedly spent $3000 to $10,000 a month - thats a luxury I wish I was able to afford.

On the flip side - someone who doesn't smoke might call someone who spends $200 a month on cigarets an idiot - or someone who spends $200 a month on beer and idiot - or someone who spends $200 a month on Pot an idiot - judge not :)

By the way - I have Mad Respect for JMC for achieving those high stats without the Gold most have spent to get there. Also - did we ever get to see a pic of JMC in the name the player threads?
