I am a free player currently at level 149 with a visible Att of about 73K and a defense of about 76K.

I have used some "free" gold from Tapjoy, but have not spent any real cash.

I'm a free player... Level 135 with 47k / 46k stats. Almost ready to give up though, as this game really isnt fun anymore at this level. No more missions, etc. to do and way too much of a gap with gold players. My adivice to those lower than me is to enjoy it while you can!

Nice... just started a new free player game so I can 'get some perspective' and at level 9... 1 day of playing so far
Att 214, def 245 (18 allies)... killed the boss 4 times really helped with an uncommon win and 3 common units with high def for my level... going to camp on this account a little... I can see a free player needs to build income and troop selection before rising too quick...

This is true. My only goal now is to reach level 200 and be done with it. Level 128 now

I think the trick is to not mind. Change your strategy. I know I won't be able to compete like for like with the gold bugs when I'm up there, but it won't stop me from having a lot of fun with them. See what you can do and make the best of it, whatever way you can.

I certainly agree to an extent. I've been dropping allies then adding some back. Trying to farm venal fighter's, etc. but even with the boss events (which I can't get past 10 on) and some other things, there really aren't many other ways of being entertained.

No complaints, though - i've played this game longer than any other on my phone, and had fun doing it. It does suck though to invest so much time and then just quit. Maybe I'll give away my account and see what someone else can do with it!

I make it my goal to get to Level 200 before I quit. If you think about it, that's a very easy thing to do, and no one, no matter how strong they are can stop you. Then you can look down on the rest of us and feel you've achieved something. Then quit...as I will!

I don't have a real strategy as far as building my army. I tend to buy units in bunches of 10 or 5 at the higher priced ones. I have concentrated on my ground units since I have increased the boost on those buildings first. I did buy the composites factory with Tapjoy gold. I also have a lot of valor units concentrating on the ground ones

If your stats are low, probably not. Likely be hit by the gold players and casualty glitchers until you are weak enough for everyone else to take low casualty rates on you. Once this happens, you will amass 10000+ losses.

If you have high stats though, you can get yourself fairly safe but never completely safe. I have passed all the glitchers. They're the biggest danger to you, as guys like the pirates have the own wars to deal with, don't gain much of anything from attacking you and will usually leave you alone unless they have a reason not to.

If you're around 60-70K you are doing alright. Will be below the glitchers, but shouldn't be attacked so much that you can't rise up slowly. 40-50K and under and you'll probably get destroyed.

Really? Once a day? I get hit like 20 times a day. Now it slowed down since I leftthe full ally area, but still 10times at least. A strong defense is crucial, i wonder how you survive with 45k defense? I win usually every battle unless some really heavy gold players attack, Iam glad there arent too many of them... By now i know them all from level 120-200.

I have the same sentiments man, 44k defense for me and i get hit like 10 times a day

I have alot of them... At one point i had 1500 now i am at 1400... The problem with them is that they die like flies. The rest of my army consist of loot and indestructble units. I am planning on byuing only special ops helis in the future, becUse of its great balanced stats. It is cheaper than byuing sh and mrls to cover your attack and defense stats.

I usually get hit about 5-10 times a day and win them all. However recently, a few gold players have been attacking me repeatedly. Thought i could hold some cash out and i could for the last few weeks, but not anymore. At least i managed to get 8 expansions done and a nanotech upgraded to level 3.

But then you cant do the valor missions anymore, in your case that wouldnt matter since you are done with them anyway.

Well unless Gree equals the playing field a little bit, I suspect I will be quitting at some point as well. However, I will make sure there is nothing left to be plundered by the heavy gold players. I will sell all my buildings and buy a million or so light gunners (the guys with 1 attack 0 defense) and then leave an empty base. I don't think that will be for a while yet, but am planning my exit.

Yeah, if i can't get these guys off me, i may go to 499 for a bit, so i can get some expansions done. Want an 8x8 base (excluding water).

They mostly stay 499 so they have the easy and quick change to 500+ if they need to, thats how hey move back and forth to help out friends. I Am at 410 now and will probably go down to 399 and see what will happen. But right now I still see the same players.

Poop I'm going to visit your base, although at a very much lower level I've always found it hard for my attack to match my defense. To me defense is easier to build up.....

Everson my friend... How are ya brother? Do the valor missions, thats the only way you can get strong as a free player. I saved up lots of valor and when it was time I made my stats jump to over 100k. But then i realized even that wasnt enough :p cheers to you...

Nah, the guys attacking me are not sitting at 500. The ones that go below and switch it around are all my friends or allies.

I am calling the zone from 110 to about 125 the baby whale zone. Alot Of valor armies and part gold armies. anyone over 499 allies is a prime valor target. the average raw stats are between 25k and 45k. some are 45 to 55k. Very few above that but i have seen as high as 150k (Omega1980b is here with those Stats). Alot Of majors and some colonels by rank and they are moving up fast. Alot Of baby whales preparing to move up in the next two months. by that time they whale zone should shift above 150 i hope but only time will tell.
