Why won't my defence stat go up?

I've got 100 odd mafia and have just spent around 100,000 on various armour but my defence stat won't go up! I'm sick of getting robbed and seriously need some advice! Please help!

get respect weapons much better buildings only help at lvl 1 and lvl 10 others dont count

Is this $100k that you spent? If it was, using cash for equipment is very dumb. If you want to get your stats up, stop buying cash weapons if you are and buy them using respect and buy crates too.

Each mafia member (up to 5 per level) can bring in 1 gun, 1 armor, 1 vehicle, 1 explosive, 1 melee.

They will bring the best of each category that you own, so whatever you bought won't help your defense unless it has a higher defense score than your existing inventory

You bring into battle maximum 5 mafia per level, up to a maximum of 500 mafia. Each one can be equipped with 1 gun, 1 melee, 1 armor, 1 vehicle, 1 explosive, for a total maximum number of 2500 equipment.

Don't listen to the advice Joaquim gave here, it's not good. In the early levels, cash weapons are just about all u got. Before we can give u proper advice, what level are u?

I haven't bought any gold, just spent what I've earned. I've got decent defence buildings yet still seem to get robbed left right and centre. I just want to build my defence stat up without spending any real cash on gold.

Seriously, if you haven't done so make databases of all categories of equipment. Keeping it up to date can be a pita but it's the easiest way to see what rating the weakest items you have in use are for both attack and defence. You can then plan your purchases accordingly

Lvl 64 but my defence seems to be stuck at 3490 which seems well below everyone else that is visible to me on the battle screen

At level 64, you should have 320 mafia (64x 5). Then, make sure,you equip each on with a gun, melee, armor, and vehicle. That's ok if u can't afford the vehicles now, just look for other weapons/armor that give you the highest def score for the value

So you can bring up to 320 mafia into a fight. As for 100 do you have 100 vehicles. Many players are short on vehicles and if you have less than 100, each extra vehicle you farm, loot or buy will go directly to your stats

if they are upgraded you are correct. Level 1 defense buildings are pretty good

As far as categorizing your inventory check out this spreadsheet by whitefrog. Download it and put in your weapons etc to see your overall deficiencies
