The same is happening to me and it happens with every event. The first few open the first time then you hit one (the one you need to actually get an item) and you cannot open it. When you do open it, it's some lousy cash reward that doesn't come close to the amount you spent trying to open it. It's been like 8 times for me as well. I think I'm just done trying to open them. It doesn't seem worth it.

Two days ago I had a terrible fail streak. I didn't count how many, but it lasted all day and the boxes didn't finally start opening until a few hours before I went to bed. Today so far I am experiencing exactly the same situation. The boxes are locked shut and if I had to guess, I'd guess that I will get another 8-10 fails before the boxes are willing to open using the cash option.

Why can't I ever get open streaks that go on for as long as the fail streaks? "Fair" chance must not mean 50/50, which I think is the most common definition of "fair" that exists.

It's like they've got someone hired to be an event monitor and they just randomly select accounts to mess with to see if people will spend gold to stop the fail streak.

They ran this event in KA first, which I thought was to test it in a smaller game. There was a huge backlash from free and real money players about the poor open rates and poor loot. I am suprised they just rolled it out as is in CC rather than doing something about it. I have more or less not played this event after the KA version, and I only hit 15 sorries in a row before quitting that one.

That's really poor luck, kykboxr. It's like you're playing with the odds from the old 10 item events. For some reason, my day 1 stunk with only 3 chips, but I had really lucky days on day 2 and 3, day 4 I fell back to only 2 chips and today I've gotten 3 more. Having said all that, my saving grace was 7 chips in a row with the cash option. I couldn't believe it, but it moved me up the board fast.

I got stuck pretty hard after chip 3 with over 20 fails afterward another big group of fails after chip 19. I suppose it's just all dumb luck.

Keep opening though. You never know what could happen. I really hope your luck turns and you get a few in a row.

Possible. I thought the chance meant the likelihood that the box would open. "Medium" is quite vague, "Fair" sounds like 50/50, and if one doesn't open it would be fair to expect the next one to have a better chance to open. They still say "better luck next time".

I used gold for the first 3 or 4 days to get into the top 500... hourly opens, no rushes or energy boosts. At 5 ahead, I have switched to money opens. My fail rate must be atleast 75%, and every open is a booby prize. When I drop to 4 ahead... gold again.

I have seen the word auction a lot here lately and it is darn appropriate. I am hoping they back track on this formula, or at the very least, do not narrow it any further. The old events could be bought... but they could also be won. I think I took 3 or 4 with a massive # of attempts and spent gold on a number of others. They were for everyone.

Aye, but here's the rub: The "milking" of paying customers has never been a necessary (or ethical) business practice when the product is actually worth paying for. If they (Conzio) made it more worth worthwhile to pay for any of their products, I bet my left nut more people would have little to no problem with doing so. The only time "milking" is both ethical and acceptable is when the product is advertised as legal and legitimate gambling. Lots of people would also have no issue against participating in a gamble when it is clearly labelled as such, but disguised gambling is a shady business that is not often (rarely if ever) encountered outside the black market.

I've spent gold on a few past events and regretted it big time once, but got the item on the other. This event seems way to aggressive for spending gold though. With no ceiling to the event I could not comprehend how much profit is being made.

I'm stuck at 11 and have been for the past few days and holding out on spending gold. I have this feeling that my card is marked and I cannot progress in the event without spending gold. The number of unsuccessful attempts using the middle option is ridiculous - our definition of 'Fair Chance' and Gree's is way apart. If the odds were opened up to us we would have a fair chance at success as we would know what the risks of spending gold are. I open 15-18 per day and fail on average 13-15 times. Not knowing what gamble you are taking is hard to bear when you seem to endlessly fail. Reading stories about how others are over 20 chips with the middle option is also irritating as the odds for success would seem different for them?

Also the $10,000 prize (I've won 4 times in the last 24hrs) is a kick in the teeth for high level players as it costs almost twice as much to try and open the safes in the first place - great 'prize'.
