There are no reposts - just reminders

I know this has been discussed, but I'd like to recap on it...

I've decided it's time to sell those low lvl buildings that just aren't worth the time to upgrade anymore...

I think from what I've seen, the rule of thumb is if it's not making over $1200 by level 4 upgrade... sell it...
By this guideline, I will be selling the following buildings - what have you guys sold in the past?

2x Pizza Parlor
2x Souvenir Stores
2x Deli
2x Chinese Rest (I know they make just over 1k, but they are ugly... and they barely make it)
2x Diner (just make it...)
2x Gas Stations
2x Tattoo Parlors (just make it...)

I have sold all of those except tattoo parlors & souvenir shop........they will eventually go when I need the space

I still have my T-shirt stands, pawn shops, barber shop and laundromat - because I have space for them - I will probably get rid of them at some point - might keep the T-shirt stand though........and will keep my Ice-creams - and keeping my Carousel - crap income but it's soooo pretty........lol

I also sold my Clothing Store, Collection Agency, Sports Bar, Electronics Store, Meat Store, Arcade

I just sold a souvenir shop and put two t-shirt shops in its old spot, I never bothered with them for the longest time but they've grown on me because I love robbing them so much. They seemed a much better replacement, and I was getting sick of seeing the big bright green/white eyesores taking up space.

I've been tempted to start culling other shops on your list but I can't bring myself to take the plunge just yet, it was easy with my souvenir shops though.

LOL - I just sold those 2... I have like a hoarding problem and I'm having issues hitting the sell button.. but not on those souvenir shops... I had 0 issue getting rid of those...

They are such an eye sore... reminds me of the bahamas... ugly souvenir stores all over the place...

When considering what to ditch, I look at the max revenue something will give me per hour per square. Looking at it that way, a tshirt stand is in the same league as a wholesale warehouse or internet company.

I've killed off a few, but here's what I can still kill off if I ever need the space:
Basketball Court $10
Warehouse $12
Gas Station $21
Clothing Store $25
Pawn Shop $27
Gun Shop $32
Diner $38
Deli $39
Tattoo Parlor $45
Arcade $46
Souvenir Store $46

I've always wondered if there was enough space within the max expansion to hold two of every money building. That's sorta my goal for this game, to have two of every building but I know space is limited so what I guess I might end up doing is only build 2 HL buildings then build the second lower level buildings when I have nothing left to build, that's of course if the space permits. Has anyone with a similar goal reached farther than me? (I'm talking two casinos next to two palms!)

Actually I think there was a player that had 2 of everything including a few gold buildings. If I remember correctly he finished the expansion on one end, but still had room to grow the other way.

I can't believe the wholesale warehouse is on the list to scrap :/

They seem like good money makers... I plan on keeping my gold buildings :/

I still have 2 lvl 10 Laundries and 2 lvl 10 pizza shop and 1 lvl 10 gas station. I can't bring myself to scrap em because those are the buildings that got me through the early days. Those were my top earners so they have sorta earned their space in my hood.

I wouldn't sell any building until I absolutely needed the space... don't just sell a bunch to free up a bunch of real estate. I did a study on this a while back... check the links in my signature!

They're not bad, but my lvl 3 was bringing in only about $30k per 18 hrs. It was either expand for $10 million, or sell it to make room for my gents clubs. I haven't made the first collection yet, but they will bring in a combined $792k per day. I actually have a lot of space in my hood, but it was a shanty town several weeks ago and I got tired of looking at it, so I sold a bunch of low paying buildings and redesigned my hood. A bunch of wasted space, but I'm pleased with it.

Wholesale warehouse is NOT ALLOWED to be sold in mid game. It is one of the few early unlock gold equivalent free buildings. Having a super income value for its cost.
Sell the rest crappy boys to make space for him.
Building quality >> building space. if you decide to play this game for months long and expand eventually.

I am so tempted to sell both my warehouses, seems better to replace them with lofts to compliment my sets of MT and DR... I should have invested more on expansions early on...

I honestly sold them (now after reading what white frog wrote regret) because they get in the way of my thinking. I look at them and think, they need an upgrade... now that they are gone, I can see clearer what does need an upgrade and what doesn't.

I have plenty of space... my next expansion is 1.5mil...

I would like to take some time to beautify my hood and add more themes.... but I need more space I think lol

I could not disagree more with this rule of thumb. You're throwing away free money. These buildings have already paid for themselves and collectively can help pay for your expensive upgrades. Why would you sell them? It's smarter in the long run to expand your hood and continue to enjoy the income. Also, they give you something to upgrade while you're trying to save up to do the expensive upgrades and constructions that you have to make at some point.

THe only buildings I've sold were machine guns (worthless once you get to gatling guns), Collection agency (there's just no reason to ever upgrade it all), and the Sports bar which I think is the worst investment in the game.

See - those buildings after selling them (kept the tattoo) took me down about 1k p/h... that is all... and waiting around 6 hours for 400 bucks... I make about 300k robbing people in less than an hour... about 1mil a day robbing...

So those little buildings was just a waste a space...

and personally, I'm on all day almost, so I REALLY like the 1 hour and 3 hour buildings... those are my favorite.

Okay, if you don't like free money, that's your business.

I won't argue.

The only case where the waste of space argument makes sense is if you've maxed out your expansions. The IPH is a hollow number and does not indicate who's got the better economy on this game. If we played steadily for a six months or a year without changing anything, yes, IPH would be the metric that would indicate overall strength. IPH does not show how much you've spent to get to that one number and it does not show the percentage of that number, which you actually collect vs what goes uncollected due to idle time or theft.

Furthermore, if this is your argument against 6h turnover buildings, then why do you have 12h and 24 h?

I keep laundromats around so that people who visit my neighborhood have something with a good respect point to xp ratio to rob.

No one is arguing whether the stats are good on those. They are.

Provided you can ever collect them.

For me, the only sure time I can collect is when I get up in the morning. They would be robbed overnight. After collecting at 6am, they will be ready again at midnight, which gives them 6 hours to get robbed before I wake up again. It's a horrible schedule.

A huge portion of the Wholesale Warehouses value is if you can get full collection. For a lot of people like me, they are only worth 40% of their listed value, which changes everything.

The T-Shirt shops nobody bothers with after a certain level, so they are a better value.

I still haven't built a Wholesale Warehouse yet. I keep putting them off because of the huge footprint. I may just skip them entirely and go with the internet companies instead.

I continue to disagree over 18hr buildings. They are some of the best IMO when correctly scheduled. This is my schedule more or less sometimes I miss collect and then just slowly work it back into sync over time. Collect at 12AM (Midnight), 6PM, 12PM (noon) 6AM, then start over at 12AM (Midnight). This schedule can be on a 11/5, 12/6, or a 1/7 collection hour which all are easily collected on. My 18hr buildings have only been robbed a couple of times when I can not or forget to collect. If that happens I just wait and reset or say screw it and let it continue to lapse and collect as I please until I collect on one of those time schedules.

I wish they change 18 hour building either 12 or 24 much better

Same goes 8 hour building change them to 3, 6,12 or 24

I put all my buildings in an excel sheet, then I sort them by income/hour. Then I delete the lowest ones when I need space if I don't care for expanding. I also look at the collection time.

Probably not the best example, but here goes:

Name
Payout
Collection hour
IPH

Smoke Shop
13310
8
1663

Wholesale Warehouse
47190
18
2621

I would sell the wholesale before the smoke shop, as the collection time suits me better. At my level, people rob for way less.

Up to level 140ish I would keep the wholesale because it would act as a 24h building, giving me 1966 IPH (effective).

Then again, I never really had this issue. Only reason I sell buildings now is because I they don't really give me anything. If I sold all my buildings that gave me less than 1k/h I would sell 17 buildings. My IPH would drop ~1.4%. I like 8, 12 and 24h buildings so no plans to sell them yet. And I will upgrade both NC's to 3 before I get my offices :)

The time i dumped ALL my low level buildings (which includes the adult cinema), my IPH dropped like 8k, all I had to do was just build a Tavern and I totally forgot about those ugly bits and bobs that makes the place look like a slum..

only have the following left NCs, OBs, Taverns, Hardrocks, Churchs, Gentleman Clubs, Condos

think if u ask me, i say junk them.. just my two cents
