Real money transactions on the add funds page? Item transactions from the in-game store? Transactions involving in-game currencies (gold/cash/respect)?

its all about purchasing, not what u get from enemies. funzio wants ur money and gives a little chance to get the purchase doubled

If you think there's any trick to winning with Funzio other than "buy more", you're seriously kidding yourself. Make more transactions and you buy more chances. This applies to events, crates, scratchers... Everything. And in the end you lose regardless of what transpires. The house always wins when gambling is involved.

If anything this is just a chance of a nice bonus, a positive thing. Although it would be more appealing if there were a gold sale.

That is true. From standpoint of a person who wanted to buy gold anyway.
Completely different story if you are not willing to at this point of time.. dont forget gold sales.. here person will accept 20% loss if he decides to buy and didn't make it to 100.

This is actually a good point. A gamble, also known as a fair game, either results in a gain or a loss. Here, there's only upside potential.

Obviously RM spent will give you what you purchased, which is why I cannot bash this event wholeheartedly. But, would it not be easier to simply promote a discount for a second "cash/gold" purchase? That way you are not creating a false sense of hope instead?

Yes, I was referring to people who purchase gold on a regular or semi-regular basis. For those, it's not a gamble because they already value the gold. If people are purchasing only to try to double their "investment," but wouldn't have purchased gold otherwise, then yes, they are gambling because they would probably consider the gold purchase a lose even though they receive benefit (gold), but not the added bonus.
