I know that you bring four units to battle for each ally. If I have 100 allies, do I need 100 each of infantry, ground, air and sea, or can I have 400 infantry only? Sorry if this has been answered before but everything I have read so far isn't really clear on this point. Thanks!

Yeah, you'd bring the 400 strongest units regardless of their type.

as Dengus says you'd bring the 400 units with the highest attack stats when you attack and the 400 with the highest defence stats when you defend (they will be different units depending on whether you are attacking or defending).

The best tactic to build up your forces is to have 800 units (in your scenario) with 400 specialising in attack and 400 specialising in D-fense. You will get much better value for your unit purchases. If you try to get balanced units they will undoubtedly have lesser stats in each category than specialised units or will cost a fortune and make you cry when they die.

Do you know what though, your idea of having one unit of each type per ally would be great fun!

I've been shot down for saying this before, but I believe that a balanced army is more effective and has lower casualties.

There is some evidence to back me up, but not enough for me to say- I TOLD YOU SO!!

I agree with having attack and defensive armies, as separate as you can manage, I am just suggesting that you avoid buying 400 Super Hornets and 400 MLRS's and hoping that will work. (Or 400 Bombers and 400 Aircraft Carriers or however you decide to split it in this scenario.)

Thanks for the replies. I've been playing Crime City so that's why I was confused about the unit thing. This totally changes my buying habits now. Also the ongoing debate about best country to be makes more sense. I wonder if your choice of country also affects which casualties you lose or if it's really just random...

Yep, I was confused by this for the same reason. I mostly buy high-end sea with money and valor, only for lower casualty rates and they're more cost effective.

I just read some of your stuff on the CC boards last night, jobadass. You should be more active here! I am also in the process of switching my focus to high end, low casualty sea units. Over Lvl 100, you can attack a large pool of rivals safely based just on their stats, but defense and especially your invisible boost become way more important to your survival than they are in the lower levels.
