Think of it this way. Had you known about the extension and chose to wait until the end of the event to spend gold, you still can't be 100% positive that you would have received the unit. Like others have said, be grateful you at least received the unit. People have spent thousands of gold before and recieved diddly squat.

Just wanted to report that even though I certainly got a lot of "sorrys", this has been the first event in which I've been able to get 10/10 - before the extension and without spending any Gold (stopped that after I got frustrated that I wasn't able to complete the first two events though I spent lots of Gold).

It was odd this time. I didn't use any gold and got to ten rockets in like the first three days, but on past events I would only end up with like five and try every hour. Even waking up in the middle of the night for that extra shot. It is completely random!

There is no pattern at all, it's all luck pretty much. The only thing you can do to increase your odds is increase your attempts. It's like poker in a way, sometimes you'll wake up with a hand, and other times you can't get one to save your life.

Yup, pretty much all luck... Fortunately I am one of the lucky ones and received mine a day and a half ago thanks to the extension. First time ever and I've participated in every event for MW and KA.

I never spend money on any of these games so I never stress about not winning the big prize. Everything I get I consider a bonus, whether it is a big or small unit.

I understand that. I'm strictly talking about the cards that are dealt to you. You obviously have control over nearly every other aspect of the game in poker. But you can't control the cards you are dealt just like you can't control whether the next open will bring a rocket part. Hence the "in a way" part in my original post :)

Thanks. Made it to 10 last night so all the pain of wathing fortified snipers, allies, etc popup time after time were worth it. Any idea how they usually apply these boosts? I've won the past three now but this is the first unit boost one I've received.

Well what a surprise. Got to 9 rockets and then lots of sorries, a few fortified snipers, a new ally etc but no 10th rocket.
4th event of this nature this has happened. Getting a little tired of it. And tired of setting my alarm for 59mins!
At least I've got 4 new indestructibles in my inventory though, so not all bad.
