best use for FIRST GOLD purchase?

hey guys... been a free player for several months now and I'm working on accumulating some gold. I'm a level 70+ semi-camper (lol) and feel like I've got a good grip on what CASH purchases to make to build up my army and my base effectively. I've never looked at gold units or buildings before, and am curious as to how you all would spend your FIRST ~200 gold?

--- Would you buy the composite factory to increase overall unit defense?

--- Would you buy a 3-pack of crates?

--- Would you buy the best single unit you could get your hands on?

--- Would you buy several of the smaller gold units?

--- Or would you just continue save up for one of the big 900+ gold units?

--- Or something else....?

even a lvl 5 composite gives you 10% def bonus. which is a ton more than 10 gold units will give you.

I regret not using hard earned tapjoy gold to buy a composite factory... I used it for opens and one crate purchase. ) : that's what a lack of delayed gratification gets you I suppose.

If I see your stat, you have probably a high ally number, and additional 3 gold units from crates wont help you much...
as for composite, it affects all of your army, and is a must have!

Like everyone else said, composite factory all the way!!!!!!!! Put it this way, I have 40k raw def but I see 55k, most of that is composite bonus.
