Event Strategy - for those who wanna know ow it's done :)

Ok - so Here We Go Again!

I already have the 9th item within the first 4 hours of the event and I'm 8 for 8 so far on the events. I have shared my strategy before but here it is for those of you who have already sent PM's to ask again. Just making it easier than individual replies to all who ask.

STEP ONE:
OPEN as MANY crates as possible in the 1st 12 hours! That seems to be the sweetest spot to successfully open them! So the 1st question I see on the threads is "Where are you finding boxes?" - "I can't find any boxes".

So in order to get the boxes this early, you HAVE to do massive PvE missions. If you have a big bank of energy, then choose your favorite place to Farm and GO for it! I personally LOVE to farm AT's so I bash the hell out of the Amphibious Squad Leader for 94 energy each shot and he gives up a crate about every 8 to 10 shots (plus I get an AT 100% of the time). On one of the events, I was desperate for boxes and killed the Desert Leader on the 1st Map for like 1000 FREE Desert Soldiers and a box about every 8 to 10! Trust me - those Desert Soldiers came in handy later when I was dropping massive units in the PvP event and I didn't give a Spit that I was losing 2 to 3 every battle!

SO - in order to prepare for the PvE cram - you gotta be willing to spend some Gold on Energy Refills! I usually buy a $99 full load of Gold at the beginning of an event - BUT yo don't have to - if you're checking your TapJoy every hour, there are certain offers that "re-appear" on a frequent basis that can allow you to get around 10 free Gold a Day (or more) just to watch a 25 second video. There are others that just require to you install and run an app (delete it 30 seconds later if you want) BUT my point is that you can rack up a few hundred Gold from Tapjpy if you just CHECK every hour :)

STEP TWO:
As you get crates, OPEN them immediately with Timer resets during the first few hours of the event, or what I do is grind out 7 items and then back off to hourly opens when the timer runs out naturally and then maybe I will do 1 or 2 Timer Resets at that moment for kicks. I can usually get 5 OPENS in the first 30 minutes - and on THIS particular event, I stopped at 7 in the first half hour and have Gotten 2 more for a total of 9 Items in the first 3 hours! I usually keep a stock of GOLD on hand when it goes on sale JUST for these events (like my buddy WP and I know that he was able to get 5 Items in about 30 minutes then 2 more within an hour & at this moment, he was at 8 in the first 4 hours).

STEP THREE
Once you reach your set goal for the 1st 12 hours (hopefully 5 to 7) then seriously just back off and do the hourly opens. I choose to do it with Gold - but have randomly done the cash option for giggles and still gotten items. In fact, on the last event I got 3 of my items with cash :)

STEP FOUR
After the first 12 hours, you can just do your normal Mission opens and go on the hunt for Boxes/crates in PvP. A lot of people will have gotten crates after the 12 hours and you can now have a bounty of them piling up waiting for you to open. I usually end up with about 60 to 100 unopened crates at the end of events. I still do cash & free opens after I get my 10th Item (usually by the 3rd day) for the chance of $1.25 million, 500 Valor, or the semi-decent units that must have a very high casualty rate because I lose them by the end of the event anyway (and I have 48% stacked reduction in Lower casualty rate - BUT that is a different thread).

Anyway, I hope that helps you plan your attack strategy and I sincerely hope ALL of you get to the 10th Item THIS time and each event in the future! So keep everyone posted in on of the 6 threads that will pop up with each event to keep us all up on your progress! We're all rooting for everyone else here on the forums to Win Win Win!

"Nerfing" this would be kinda hard as getting the 10th is next to impossible anyway...

Also guys, I am at 8 with only around 800 gold spent. So it's not a crazy price. This is the first event that I followed Mcdoc's strategy. The other's I waited a few days before spending gold.

you deserve a SALUTE!! very rarely I see a person who have the advantage to win all the events perfectly are willing to share his strategy, and risking to lose the upper hand from everybody else..
although this is very inspiring, I shall pass to follow, cause, I could not afford to spend 100$ each week or every 2 weeks (by the trend of these events)...
I shall continue to test my luck to the farthest with all cash opens, and hope that I could at least keep up with your perfect streak...

Been using this for the last 3 out of 4 events and have gotten 10 on the first or second day.

Just a note as well, I believe the amount of boxes you have also effects your open rate %. Try keep them as low as possible.

- munitions stockpile
- oil rig
- ore mine
- recycling plant
to test the bonus of the last event, they are said to add 1 valor for raiding, but when I raid munitions stockpile, I only got 1,1 and 3/4 valor in 3 hits?? is this bonus not working??
the only thing that works is only for oil rigs (I get 2, 2 and 6 valor)
If your result are different, maybe I have to send a ticket to have them checked...
from my point of view, If I have the item, I should be getting at least 2 valor each hit right???

I hit the Doctor in the high mountain village. He drops one every 2-3, for 186 energy. It's also not a bad time to stage your big bosses while your going through alot of energy hunting down the crates.

You have to be at level 10 and above to the event appear.

This is up to speculation...but if there was a LE with 345/178 (Stats on the 10th prize for me, Assault Bear) that would cost over 1,000 gold based on the stats and prices of current gold units. And that's not even taking the boost into consideration, which is like having a lvl 15 Electronics Factory for free :)

For me it is all luck , first I have to be lucky with the length of event the more days the better last event was only 5 days and few hours so I only got 8 , this time I had 6 days 6 hours so bit longer which is more attempts at opens. Second I have to be lucky and close app and reopen at around 2am to know the event has started which is luck as better chance at start . I think the events should be the same length every time and they should let us know when they are starting a day before as a good start is needed. Same as most things with this game a little thought would go a long way .

The event prizes have stats that vary by level brackets. Mine is called "reinforced bear" and has weaker stats than yours. I don't recall the bracket ranges off hand but I think they span something like 20 to 30 levels big. The Assault Bear sounds like the prize for the next bracket up from where you were during the event. All the prizes have the same bonus regardless of level.

I try to open as much as I can on the first day. I get really good luck on the first 5 but, the rest suck and going to six is a long battle. Once I get six, my luck suddenly brings me to 8 and and after some time I pass nine and get stuck at nine. This happens at EVERY event for me.

I got 7 googles within an hour. I usually keep hitting the PvE missions (whichever map I'm currently working on finishing off Level 5 missions). For me, I hit the drop site for a while today then jumped over to Amphibious Squad Leader at the Docks. Gotta spend gold in energy refills early on like McDoc says.

EDIT - After seeing McDoc got to 10 in about 17 seconds I'm embarrassed to have even posted this. I've opened 18 crates and sit at 8 googles. Just opening with gold each hour now.

McDoc - Are there event boosts applied to your prizes in your screen print? My advanced Strike Robot (horrible attack stat for something that has such a lethal sounding name) is 25A/63D and the lethal tiger is 291A/152D.

Hi guys.... bare with me I'm new to the game and only level 18!

this is my first event at the moment and i've opened 5/6 packages and i've got 5 sets of night vision goggles. I really want to get all 10 because I can't build anything as powerful as the biggest prize (Grizzled Tiger, A117 D86)

THE QUESTION:
When trying to find ops crates does it matter what mission you do? As I only have 330 energy i was wondering, if i go back to level 1 and do missions that require 10 energy do i have the same chance as doing a mission that requires 100 energy... or do I have a 10 times better chance of getting a crate by doing a 100 energy mission?

Joshb....the maps go up to level 5 but even after that they will payout...you just don't get the extra point to spend on valour/stamina...so yes you are probably better off doing the early missions again...I caveat that by saying I don't know what weighting, if any, there are on these lower maps...I might try it myself but have already got the trinket!

Your kind of screwed by now. If you don't get it withing the first 12 hours then it might not be reachable. I have a few times spent 3000 and Mcdoc 4500 and still never reached number 10.

i was planning on dumping maybe 2000 gold and going for the last 3.

Honestly, I wouldn't waste gold at this point.

To get crates at the beginning, what Mcdoc does is use gold to refill his energy. So keep that in mind for next time.

You have me contemplating making my first gold purchase, but the prize would have to be extra sweet and not require 56+ parts like in the current KA event. I am wondering what the over/unders are on gems spent and vials acquired by the top 50? Gotta be ridiculous with 2 more days left. I am going to guess 90+ vials for the top and 40+ for the last person in the top 50

were you ever been successful unlocking all 10 crater items using your technique?
because I can open 9 crater items by just doing the hourly attempts without spending gold and without the rush... but I never tasted success opening the 10th item..

LOL spend real $ ?!? Since I started playing I have gotten all 3 of the 4 loot equipments for free. I've used no cash and only have 400 energy. They're 5 day events! The uber piece of equipment is a joke, I don't know anyone who has got one. It's gotta be like a .0001 % chance or something stupid. But you only have to discover 7 "parts" or "drops" or whatever the key box thing is to get the 3rd equipment piece. It's really not difficult. I've often got up to 9 with a day or two left in the event but that last "rare" item is nigh impossible to get.

I'm with you here Miner and 3 of the 4 I have are without using gold and with normal 6 hours sleep. The 4 did cost me a few hundred gold, but was worth it (20% time reduction on upgrades).

The only one I want crazy with gold on was this last one with the 20% time reduction on upgrades. Got it in about 2 hours with around 1,800 gold. As you can see, I really wanted that one! I'll go crazy again if there's a cost reduction for upgrades.

I tried your method last event to use gold from 7 or 9 event items and use money for the 10th.. After first 12hrs of opening to the end of the event, there is nothing coming out right after at all.. I guess nowadays we gotta get it on the first hr of the event...
