How do you get ur boxes to open? Hold for a few seconds or press it once quickly?

Has everyone compared the difference between holding the medium optiion button down for a few seconds vs pressing the medium open button quickly? Which works for you? Every second makes a difference between opening and failing to open. Just need feedback thanks!!!
