Luke 7676. You found one box .? I didn't think that was even a possibility. You all but trip over them while on he various maps. I had an extra 54 to open when I got disconnected and had to stop trying, still ended up with 9 gems. Got 9 artifact ts in crime city as well. Of I a prett good start here have 2 rings and tires opened and waiting on that third for my first reward. I really wanted to start camping for a bit, bu this game ends that. The loot was rubbish I was getting the stuff that you get from PVP which won even make my army! I don't want much just 10 rings in a row will be fine :)

Yeah I too want to find out what other loot will be available besides gold and allies which are confirmed. Honor is probably one of them too. As for the PvP loot, hopefully they read the feedback about those.

I started at 6days 7 hours because it didn't show up till then. Since then I Have gotten 4 boxes and 4 rings. The problem is I have emptied my attacks and pve bar like 50 times and I can't get a frickin box to save my life. Last event this happened too. Started 2 days late because of glitch and got my first 5 like it was nothing and finished my tenth with 2 days left.... I just wish I could transfer this luck to MW. I like that game much better. Always get stuck at 8 or 9 items in MW and it is like pulling teeth to get that.

I took 23 attempts to get 7 rings. I woke up several times last night to see you get nothing. All middle option using gold.

I'm still doing full pve, however drop rates seem to be a lot lower than before. I'm not levelling too quickly maybe just less than one level per day give or take. Extra gold is not too bad but I will need to slow down once I get to around 65 or 66... I'm still looking for a better Mage weapon and armor than my current 25/15 and 15/25 respectively.

I'm up to 250+ high priests and 230+ siege towers so it's coming along slowly but surely...

I have around 20 magic boxes at the moment...

June 12th was almost perfect - 6 rings, some h points, some gold and then came the 13th - NO RINGS WHATSOEVER, no gold 1 corpse constructNAND 1 extra ally. With the middle option used at some 2250/pop that set me down quite a bit after 17 tries...Could be the 13th, or might be the second day curse - with the rubies event my second day was also quite bad and that was not the 13th, if I remember correctly... Will see tomorrow and that 7 th ring ( at the very leat!) is better be there!

On a different, yet related topic, as in the rubies event boxes tend to substitute the regular loot - I do REALLY lots of PvP and PvE and virtually all I get at these events are those darn boxes. After the last series .i was having 217 unused boxes left, this time I have 43 after just 2 days...decent loot could have been better, but I suspect that the pickings would be really slim these days...

Well that was not always the case. Closer to 7 days apart a lot of the time. I swear a couple times the day after an event a new one would start but at one point I was playin two CC & two MW accts at the same time and then added two KA accts to boot.

The lines started blurring and things started getting strange. So im not positive. Thankfully I quit CC totally and only play one KA & one MW acct now so Im feeling normal again. haha

True, there is a certain element of "luck" involved with completing the event, but then again 4 solid days of opening boxes (usually opening 6-8 a day, sometimes more) with no luck but a few allies, units, gold, and the occasional honor is incredibly frustrating. As a gamer, I about deleted KA on the spot because, as a programmer myself, I know that there is not value for "luck" in code. Functions perform as they are told and tend to make very fast... VERY PRECISE... mistakes. I hope my sarcasm is apparent. Of course they don't make mistakes. The human element causes this through faulty or bad code. I say this because obviously people are having more luck with this new event that closely mirrors the previous one... I, myself already have 6 rings after only about 10-14 attempts. Coincidence?

Obviously Funzio wants to make money, who doesn't? But seeing the number of posts of people that had the same "luck" after getting 8-9 gems and likely rage quit as I was about to do, it's easy to see why they decided to recreate the event so soon after the last one ended. Don't be surprised if you have better "luck" this time around. Let's hope they aren't naive enough to disappoint so many players a second time and expect to retain their player/money base.

With all that being said, please excuse my rant... It is good to see some good will from the developers, even if I consider this to be the "oops sorry" LOTR event.

You make a valid point, my experience is limited in this game. However, I think I have also made some fair points myself. Consider it fresh insight. After all, the point is to grow and /retain/ the player/money base. Even if my entire post were completely unfounded and baseless, why shouldn't Funzio cater to new players just as they do to veterans who have come to expect that some, many, or most events end in one way or another. Judging from your signature, you are most likely not a free player ( again, not a stab- its just your choice ) and don't stand to gain nearly as much from the events as someone who chooses to play for free. For a free player, this is a chance to gain some ground on someone who chooses to pay to play. And my final point, who should Funzio be more concerned in retaining? Someone who has been around for a long time, or a new player? Business sense suggests that a new player is more likely to quit than someone who has been around for a while. And the longer they retain a player, the more likely they are to start paying eventually, or decide to make more purchases.

I enjoy KA. I don't usually register on forums for this type of game, but did so because I think there is a fair amount of quality displayed by this game. It's a love/hate thing because I enjoy checking in and collecting items/gold/army, but get disappointed by trivial events. Why else would someone check the app while at work in their spare time?

To your point: I didn't notice post counts when reading about the event on forums. All contributions to the discussion are an account of experience and should be considered on an individual basis. If veterans were the only ones who had valuable input, the world would be controlled by the vice of groupthink which would benefit no one in the long run, including the future of whatever it is that you enjoy and consider yourself a vet at.

I am a level 19 free player...9 rings so far. Went up 4 levels quickly since the beginning....This is my first event with this game normally get 8 or 9 whatevers with modern war always short of the top prize. My player has strong values so I get raided and beat up less here then in MW. That being said I think the longer you can hold on to a chest the better. Someone else may be getting your rings from that tricky to open box just due to difference in stats. Both MW and this game seem to give up rings quicker in the beginning then dwindle to nothing toward the end. Seems like there is a finite amount of the top prizes and they go quickly in the first few days both in Modern War and Kingdom Age. Seem to be better off with a stronger start then an even amount of play each day. Just my thoughts and observations...hope they help make game play more enjoyable for others.

This is a good question and my view is that it must be the long time GEM player and the forum support. Loyal customers = recurring revenues. New payers, while giving you potentially more revenues and growth, do not have the same intrinsic value as existing customers, just a lot of upside potential.

I'm still looking for ring number 9. After the update, I had 5 successful open boxes in a row but no ring.

I have three people on my newsfeed that I can see the first Drake unit reward. I haven't been successful in obtaining boxes from PVP. For those that have been successful, have you taken them from raiding or attacking? Any other suggestions on getting boxes from PVP?

I didn't get a single box from pvp. In fact, I am trying to camp for a little bit near 50, so I just killed as few enemies as possible to ensure a supply of boxes and I was (surprisingly) able to get ring #10 just a few minutes ago.
I did get rune boxes from pvp last time, but these boxes seem so easy to get from pve.

This is the worst luck i have had in any Crime city or KA event. I finally got to 5 overnight but my self esteem is taking a battering with all these rejections I keep getting.

I have no problem paying $50-$60 for a good game, which I already paid for this game. This is a decent price for many good video and computer games. However, expecting people to pay hundreds or thousands dollars for a game is not only unrealistic but also a robbery. I already see people spending thousands of dollar on this game.
Having spending around $50 on this game, I still consider myself on the free player side and one of the best free players. At level 86, with 36K offense and 42K defense, of which 99.9% built on free units. 12000 wins and 190 losses. What consistently irritates me is the idea Funzio demonstrates: instead of giving more fun to players, it tries to withhold or take back those fun to extract more money from players.

This is my first try at these so called online real time iPad games, I am sure it is going to be the last one until a more reasonable gaming and paying mode emerges. As a veteran game player for many computer and video games, I just find it again that these so called "free" games just end up costing more with depressed fun.

No one forces you to spend a penny. You can be competitive without spending a dime with 99.9% of the players at your level.

Many other games don't guaranty you anything - I think some of the fun in the game is the random variables and chances that you may not win every single event you try to participate in. Like life - sometimes you don't win at everything.

As somewhat of a free player, I'm actually glad that Funzio put out an event that gives us opportunities to acquire indestructible units without spending real money. Just lower down your goals, I'm happy just getting the first 3 rewards. It's a big bonus for me to get the 4th unit (9th ring). I really don't expect to get the final unit at all.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I don't understand what you expect from KA. You gone far and deep for $50-60, which was a voluntary spend. It's an ultimate try before you buy model, and you seem very competitive, and seem to enjoy it very much with such a minor spend, which I believe is harder to be compared to say MW. Is it your competitive streak to acquire all the assets or to be able to beat someone who spends $1000 with only $50 with only "skill" however you choose to define that?

I certainly enjoy both winning and losing - that's part of the game. If someone spends 10k on the game, he is a strong opponent and I have strategies for stronger opponents or impossible to beat opponents. Its called evasion and diplomacy. I believe that's part of the game too. I know I can't beat everyone with "strategy" - that's not realistic. I apologize if I misunderstand your post as I have been drinking and have unwisely decided to post anyway :) cheers

Let's put it a simpler way. I still have no clue. It is free and it I find it fun even with a small spend. And therefore I do not believe your requests or expectations are resasonable because they are not clear. You seem to be pretty unreasonable person in fact LOL

There are many games where the weight of capital you put in is an important factor in game play. He buys in more and you should respect that. You have strategies to deal with that. I deal with these situations all the time and I don't think it's unfair and neither do a lot of other players. You have a weird sense of fair.

When it stops being fun - you should probably stop playing. I don't think tossing more
money to better other players would really change the math of your own personal
enjoyment - unless of course, you're being harassingly attacked by a GEM player on
an hourly basis thats ruining the game solely for you. *shrug* On the rune quest note -
I think its good to have some level of chance where not everyone gets the biggest unit...
if everyone got it, it would differentiate the winners in any meaningful way.

I came into the game knowing that there will be people who
"invest" (using that term loosely) in the game to give them a leg up. Its part of
the game - and, frankly - how the company makes money allowing them to
continue dev on this game and others. It's a pretty consistent way that these
types of games make money.

If you've ever played an mmorpg like EQ or WoW then you know not only do you buy the game but you also pay a monthly fee. In those games, you spend hundreds of dollars a year and yet you are not automatically entitled to the top end loot. You have to earn them through raids and hard work.
Well, this game is ultimately 100% free and just because you or anyone else pays $10 or $1000 doesn't make you any more entitled to the "top end" units. You have to earn it via the event. If you don't like the terms of the event or the outcome, then don't play. Or just get over it and move on and hope the next event fairs better for you.

I think this is probably one of the better posts that I've seen on this forum.

I'm not old, but I come from an era of older games that NO GAME was given out free. In fact, they had these "arcades" where you had to put in 25 - 50 cents each time you played. And when you won, you had to pay more to play again. And when fighting games came about, someone half your size who could barely reach the buttons whipped your butt, you either popped in more money or left. Them home consoles were getting bigger and you payed for those. Now there are HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of free games out there, and some like these are very long, strategic, and competitive. Moreover, you get a chance to become awesome at it.

But I guess for some, "free" is no longer enough. It has to be absolutely perfect, you have to be able to get the advantage over "them" without paying as much money as they do, and then when it doesn't all seem fair, complain about how the free game is not good enough as it is but you want more. For nothing back.

If you paid some or a lot of money, you have a right to complain about technical malfunctions. But if you buy a smurf toy and complain it doesn't transform like the Autobots, you may want to stop playing and pick up a book instead and read. It will be a lot less problematic.

That's what I'm wondering... especially when people are claiming to reach the 5th ring on only 14-15 "free" open attempts. My "luck" this go-'round is nothing as good as the last event. I'm sure it all evens out, but it sucks being on the ***** end of the "luck" this time. 8?(

Level 22 Free Player just got ring 10. Only had one magic box taken from me during the game...went up 7 levels...much faster then I would have liked. I play MW and am getting crates taken left and right only 7 rings and probably only reach 8 or 9 by the time it ends. Found a free app that counts down from an hour and then allows you to reset. After many failed attempts at getting 10 in MW my faith in Funzio FairPlay has been restored. Only thing I did different this round was mixing up how the magic boxes were found...mission, pvp, raid, different map mission...time to turtle again and build ones stats for the next event.
